Mr Heater Big Buddy is the model. I've got a 250 gallon propane tank I'm going to fill next fall as it's cheaper from the truck and usually over here they run a special before the cold sets in. This one can use the little green bottles or a quick connect hose with regulator. Probably ran me about $150 for hose, regulator and heater

I quit with the heater and got a small propane bottle, we can exchange them at almost any convenience store around here for about $20 US, they sale a big sunflower attachment for them by a company called Mr. Heater I think. Doubt I could link here but will try and get you a better description. Really keep my place nice and on low would run for 5-6 days before refill need, bit expensive but so is my bud, and wasn't much difference in electrical cost with a 1,500watt heater that couldn't keep up. Most will come on screaming at me that they are not safe inside, but that's BS, been using them for years camping and such even in tents before I got to old for tents. I upgraded to one that has a quick disconnect and could leave the tank outside if I wanted too, it also had a blower on it, but I just used a box fan to keep the warm air moving down low longer. Cost me about $130 for that set up from Ama u know who.

Yes, the Mr. Heaters are great! We used to use those ice fishing and they kept the Shanty's very very warm. I think I still have one or two around here somewhere. :thumb:

Depending on your humidity...

- I run a dehumidifier, which raises the temps a bunch as well as lowering RH. I only have mine running during lights off because that's when RH rises. When the lights are on it's pretty warm and dry. I use Hid lights cause I need that heat- I assume I wouldn't be able to use LEDs without auxiliary heating.

- A byproduct of burning propane is water/steam, so they would raise the temps as well as possibly raising the RH - though you can vent those heaters if you have to I guess.

Freaking wicked man.. Would have been some mad shit happen..bet the best stories are the ones you can't remember, lol..

Or can't tell till your dead! I've pondered a series of novels from my 35+ years working for assholes and egos (ergo wealthy people), a few celebs and couple genuine good folks, but oh yeah the stories I could tell. I've had many an MFO (Mother Effing Owner) tell me I should right a book and that was just their years with me, but wait until they were dead. My Momma always on me to get started.

This is the style we used to use, they came in different sizes.

The one Captain posted is really nice too! Not as open as these "sunflower" styles.

Thanks Canna, yes that was what I started with and still use in my deer stands/shooting houses, they get er' done!

never see any real RH issues with these and the big buddy is self venting WC. Is Propane affordable and readily available in your neck of the woods? I'm assuming it is world wide, Many of the countries I've visited use it to run everything, hell I've pulled into gas stations in South America and found the pumps were propane only though they looked just like gas pumps. We should use it more here as well IMO.

:high-five:

I honestly don't believe there is anything I would rather be doing than fishing and it has been a long time since I've been... Used to have a condo in Orange Beach and had a neighbor with a charter boat and he would take me out in the gulf all the time but hurricane Ivan took care of that one for me...:thedoubletake:....:circle-of-love:

Yep. Propane runs quite a few things here - a bit of a pain to fill up the tanks but always reliable when the power isn't working. I did rent a cabin once for a couple months that had propane heat- unvented in a wet climate, and that... sucked.
We used to use those round blaster style heaters in the bush a lot. Can make a big cold camp tent steamy hot and puffed up like a balloon in no time.

I'm with your mom- get writing

Never used it...interesting.

I was thinking about these multiple "duds" we've had of the same exact strain orders. Wondering if the seeds had not been cured long enough. I've always read and been told they need to cure for a while. I have no idea if that is a fact.

Maybe the breeder, trying to keep up with demand, sent fresh seeds? Who knows...but I'm doing a little test with fresh home grown seeds, and one seed has not popped at all (it was just a tad green), so I'm trying a germ on one or two mature fresh seeds to see if they pop.

I'm thinking they have to be locked for a couple of months, idk.. Just thinking in nature you can't have a annual seed fall then germinate, that wouldn't be the best for survival.

Camping heaters, look into it.. House stayed at 18 last night, I had to get up at 4 and put a log on the fire.. Been really nice days last couple, blue sky and sunshine but making for such cold nights..

Captain, did you get the p/m? I'd read that book man..

Yeah we pump it at the stations also, called LPG here, liquid petroleum gas, cars run on it... not allowed to fill up the bottles there though. We have swap and go camping bottles, take old one in and swap it over for a full one...

That's what we have to do here too, swap the containers. Can't tell you how many times I swapped and wound up with a leaky one back before things changed. LOL

A lot of the gas stations are only allowing new containers to you on the swap now for that reason.

Struggling here with temps... I'm thinking of turning fans around and bring warm air in from top/roof and exhausting through bottom.. I've got a small 1000w heater in now, as last night for two hours got to 15.6 with lights on. Heater set at 17, hopefully doesn't kick in to much. Lights off I've got so house is warm, hour after I get home from work and light fire, if it's out...

Reversing the fans is what I do in my kitchen bins, it certainly improves things drawing the air over the bulbs, I expect your Winter temps are like a mild Summer here:laughtwo:

Yeah mate, its same here, cars run on it, we cook with it, used for heating etc.. Pipeline doesn't run anywhere near me so it's costly bottles.. Only have it for cooking. Wood heating and electric hot water here...
You reminded me of Hank... Best and most underrated show on television.. Would have to say my all time favourite..

Thank you Ajagunle,I was looking for some confirmation..Our 15 is really cold, beanie weather... It's like when everybody is passing out in England on a 23 degree day and in Australia we are trying to work out if that's a jumper on or off day, lol... I wonder how you folks in England Scotland Canada Alaska etc grow, must cost a fortune, although I think utilities are cheaper, we get ripped..

We have quite a few servo's around here that allow us to fill our tanks being in a more rural area, works out almost half the price, they charge an arm and a leg for the swap and go bottles but they do come in handy when your bottle is about to expire, swap it out for another and we are good to go for a couple more years

It's been dropping to about 4 degrees here at night. Temp at canopy height is about 18 deg though. I'm cool with that, and the plants don't seem bothered. In the next 2 weeks, temps will get to 0 and below. Will just lower the light a bit then. Hopefully that does the trick. Give me the cold over 40 deg temps any day.
