GrizzWalds - Aussie Indoor/Outdoor - Choose Your Own Adventure

Well, I had to look it up, skunk smell. It's been a while since smelling one and trying to decipher the smells.

Burnt rubber (to some), sulfur, and onions/garlic to some. The smelly compounds are called thiols, found also in onions and garlic. Thiols can be oxidized with a baking soda and hydrogen peroxide wash. So if you get sprayed, wash up with those and it neutralizes the smell.

Thanks Heirloom. Not sure why I didn't bother doing what you did and reading up.

So the black rhino I grew last year was actually giving off a skunk smell. That plant reeked of garlic and onions.

Sheesh man, this is tough subject. LOL!

EDIT: What common strains (besides skunk) would you say is known for giving off that scent profile?

Sour Diesel will light up a grow, GSC too, I'm growing some purple flowers now so I'll let you know on a few weeks.

Cheers

Tomato juice for pets! I've had several pets get sprayed in my life, and the only thing that worked the first time was a rub in bath of tomato juice.

:)

Miller, was that in response to my question?
Yep, those two strains lit up my grow, my house, my block. Now my mind cuz their dry and in jars.

Cheers

Sour and GSC both are quite sunk or so my wife tells me. I enjoy the smell of my garden.

Couple quickies before work... She's all swelled up now... She's freaking massive.. I got so much work ahead of me... I've admired her but last night was just walking around her, looking, she's a mass a buds, I'm so impressed with this girl. Photos dont do her justice, you just can't see all the buds and size of them... Anyways, forgive me for the crummy shots. Early morning.... Hope all are skunktified (well)

Thanks man.... I'm here looking at her and feeling same way.. Just found one amber on a leaf, she's done for me, slowly chop her down over next few weeks...

Agreed, awesome job Grizz, definitely don't envy the cramps your gonna get trimming her, oh well, can think of way worse problems to have. Have a great day.

I would gladly help ya trim her up Grizz if it just wasn't for that ocean thing going on... You're the only guy I know that can fill up a whole page with someone trying to describe how a skunk smells... and Canna I use tomato juice too when the dogs get sprayed but if you add peanut butter to the tomato juice with a little baking soda... it works amazingly well... Paco, of course, got hit twice last year... I spent a fortune on stuff from the vet and he still smelled terrible... the girl staying at the shack is born and raised in this little town and she told me about the tomato juice, peanut butter and baking soda... I thought she was insane... she just kept telling me you'ens (she really says that) need to try this... I was amazed at how well it worked...:yahoo:....:circle-of-love:
