GrizzWalds - Aussie Indoor/Outdoor - Choose Your Own Adventure

Yeah I think I remember, Grizz.. Connelly was good. Scots and Welsh are great people, but yeah.. Like us they talk fast and get loose when under the influence. The Welsh especially will slip in and out of their own language which makes it worse! Just look up some Welsh town names to get an idea..
Funny about that mate of yours in Boulder! Mine (a girl) was here cos her oldies were working here for a few years.. 15 we were.. Smoking hot, she was too... Aaahhh those were the days!!
Anyway, still mates and went and saw her back then for what was going to be a quick backpacking stint (I had no money) and, long story short, turned into a 5 and a half year detour... Funny; I never had much of a problem with the Irish accent.. Maybe cos the Aussie accent mostly originates there.. Or maybe cos I was pissed most of the time I was there...

You guys are killing me.

Again, not all Americans are yanks. I was born in the west, live in the south (I'm now an outsider), and my defense is 'at least I'm not a Yankee'. Don't take that away from me.

I can do pretty well understanding Aussie's talk. Some of the words are different, like the voucher/coupon. Or crust/job and sets me back a minute. But listening I can get by ok.

I watched McLeods Daughters....on purpose. Just to work on the lingo. The ladies were nice to look at too.

:passitleft:

It's harder when reading to get full impact!
In person it's fast and there's a LOT more swearing with most aussie males. Swearing can double the length of any conversation! I got quite a lot of quizzical looks from blokes over there when I first arrived.. As an example, the dreaded 'C' word is a lot more popular here, for example.. But mainly because it's "generic".. We'll make it mean anything; not, ironically, as an insult to women. Almost never, actually.
Also, we abbreviate EVERYTHING. Names, teams, cities, etc. etc. all get chopped. Except sometimes when the nickname has the same or more syllables than the name. Eg. David becomes Dave OR Davo.. Most Australian words sound exactly as they're spelled eg. Woolloomooloo (suburb in Sydney).. WOOL/LOO/MOO/LOO. Rhyming slang is not as wide spread as in Britain but is still used a bit eg : Septic Tank = Yank = American = SEPPO. This clever double entendre (both Americans and septic tanks should always be considered to be full of shit) is from WW2... Apparently you bastards under Macarthur just took over when based in Brisbane, Queensland!!

So after 11-12 day dry out, yellow traps,cider vinegar traps & d/e, my gnats were thriving, lol.. Last night I mixed 60ml of 50% into 940ml of water, then mixed into 3lt of water, p/h adjusted. Watered plants.. Hope 4lt mix was enough. Only two plants in 16lt pots and 3 seedlings.. Not much sign today, one or two when I mixed soil around, sprayed them.. Be good to be able to water them again, just for my own piece of mind, plants look healthy...

McLeods daughters :rofl:

Grew up fishing Yarra, Eildon etc.. Live coast now, used to go out in boat after work but haven't been out for a while now,years. Fish harbour every now and then, squid..Last fishing I did was Christmas, freshwater craying... Got a bubba kush & sour diesel vegging. Got grizzly purple kush, sour diesel and veneno seedlings, well veneno is just coming into veg stage..

We're going to bonnie doon... We're going to Bonnie Doon...:rofl: probably more water skiing/wake boarding than fishing but yeah, I grew up hour an bit away, was local family get away spot.. Actually friends families I'd go away with, lol...

Awesome grizz im excited on thise strains :)
Thats awesome talking bout bonniedoon i live about an hour or so away and when i was 17-18 playing footy we used to always sing we're goiiing to boonniedooon haha god those were the days used to always be a full on game and me being a rough backline player i use to get in so many punch ups and rough plays hell we use to end up gull team on team battling haha
Eildon being alot fuller these days and being stocked alot is making it an awesome fishing spot now, unfortunately i havnt had a good fish there for abit sonce i dont have my license but my father lives that way so next spring/summer imma get him to take me out on the boat.
Trout and cod are getting massive there and van get good yellas for eating fishing along the trees from what ive heard

Played Alexandria in practice match about 20 years ago.. Flashy dirty rover :) :rofl:
I remember going to a bush party and surprised, thought I was tripping seeing a town in the middle of it. That was doing my head in looking at it trying to figure out what was going on :rofl:

Haha good old rover they were my fav to chase down just cause i was the only one that could on my team haha, ah damn its like that in those places it just almost makes no sense in a way its like the redneck lands of aus i guess just random places every where haha

Yeah blackthumb ive heard theyve worked real hard on it and i think all the cod and yellas being so territorial kinda forced the carp away. Ive seen they are gunna let lose a carp virus soon to annihilate the carp in aus so that will be interesting to see how that turns out, for a pest they can be alot of fun to catch haha

:rofl::rofl::rofl:
Bapple come up with an idea for the long drives with the daughter, map navigator.. I just wanted to say what a successful idea that was.. A big thank you.. So when we got home, paper and pens come out, map drawing begins.. She's drawn a map to find her slippers. All things in the lounge are listed to go to till you hit the slippers, couch, fire, TV, pool table..Except halfway through there's a surfboard.. "What's this" I said "surfboards"... " but we don't have surfboards in the lounge room".. " dad it's called your imagination..you allowed to use it darl" wtf.. Just wanted to squeeze her so tight. She cracks me up.. I'm still laughing about it..

That is so priceless:thumb::circle-of-love:

:rofl:
