Greenvein's Runtz In Coco DTW - Build To Cure 4x4

New tent day. Edit.. yesterday :bongrip: lol

I was out most of the day but managed to swap the tent over. I opted for white walls instead of Mylar which was a extra 20 but they decided to send the mylar and i had already gutted my room 🙄

No more broken zip! I had to squeeze all my plants into my runtz tent while I done the swap. I also had to swap my filters to the other ten which near killed me in that space lol. I managed to get the radiator out too so my tray fits better now.

Feed pipes are now plumbed in just need to wire a plug and install timer & drippers.
Two new plug sockets are mounted just need run extension in so can cut my circuit to connect them.

My RODI ppm it starting to go up so I'll add a filter change to my list.. it's not bad but I bought it used so may aswell service it.

Lastly I have noticed green algae in the top of my Coco mainly on the slower weird plants and my cheese clones which was all from the last batch of Coco I mixed so could explain what's been going on if it's around my roots but not sure how bad it has to be to make a massive difference.
I have ordered some 3% hydrogen peroxide and from here on out I will start every grow with a peroxide flush before planting.
Also I will be going from 12L pots down to 9L so hopefully that helps.

✌🏽

New tent is always fun. Shame I've only just caught up, my local hydro shop has 25% off tents. Could've sent you a link. Always the way.
Hey vet, that's a crazy discount! 🤣 no dramas though i think I got a decent deal apart from being robbed on the material lol they have a message waiting for first thing Monday morning so hopefully their happy to refound the 20 difference.

Congrats on the harvest too! Was eventful grow but paid off! 👌🏽
Tent looks great brother! Man you can get sh*t done quickly..lol..my bro is moving 🏃‍♀️..lol..

Not sure on the green algae. You temps/ RH solid. Is there enough air movement?
Looks great from where I'm sitting, good catch though..
Cheers bro
Hey Mr Green, thanks brother yeah their definitely not hanging about now I need to get my training started!

All my issues stem from me waiting on them last few plants to take, i planted straight into 3gals then stalled so the Coco sat moist for far to long. I think I fed before they dried out too so was asking for it but was pushing the last three to get started. It's not bad so I'll try scrape the green off, feed once their fully dry this time and then spread some cinnamon over the surface to stop it growing if that fails I'll have to use some peroxide.
You are doing a great job @Greenvein on your grow journal. Once, you get all the hi cups taken care of you will be flying.
I don't think I can handle that many plants in a 4x4, it's going to get busy come flower. You will definitely have wall to wall buds, for sure.

Be safe, and grow well my friend,
Tok..
Thanks tok! We're almost there hopefully this is the last time I change my growing style but never know with me 🤣
I was thinking to do a 16 plant grow for my mars hydro run lol! We'll see but wanna do something different to show my appreciation.

Well three visitors in one day! Next time I'll get out the tea and biscuits 🤣.

✌🏽💚 To you all

Good catch! Algae doesn't like oxidizers like bleach or H202. I never have any problems running 1-2ppm residual chlorine. Cheers!

Appreciated brother, I was planning on trying liquid seaweed for the first time in tomorrows feed but may add a little H202 to the res instead and make a foliar spray with the seaweed.

Thanks for stopping by ✌🏽

Easy Mr Greensy, i may be holding a little secret right now or I may not be 🤣🤣😬😬

Day 22 veg
Greenvein's Runtz

I have been super busy but will try bring you guys up to speed with the garden. Let's start with my ladies:
On Tuesday Day 19 veg.. All my plants was pulled from the tent one by one for algae inspection, most of them had some on the surface around the edges. Pulling them out I checked how the roots was doing underneath and noticed all the pots was mighty light! Except butters Betty. Plants still looked happy so I thought I'd try sorting this the natural way I scooped as much green Coco off the surface as l could then spread ground cinnamon all over 🤫 stole it from the wife 🤣here's a few pics I took in the process.

Today Day 20 veg marks the day my plants Really needed water! Like right now! Lol

PXL_20230606_230547219.jpg

They was a little droopy so I got the resovoir filled with RO water, I used two 20L buckets which filed my 50L res to the brim oh wait is my new Res really 50L or hav I been using 25L buckets for the past year filling them like they was 20L 🤦🏽‍♂️ 🤣 anywhoo I went with the safe option and called it 40L as a guide for nute measurements. Once filled with week three strength (week behind) of my feed chart plus some seaweed PH 5.5 EC 1.1 my temp read 27c 🙄 so In a hurry I threw some ice packs in to cool it down and cracked a window but this did about 2c so food they was denied.

Day 21 veg early morning I threw my refrozen ice packs back in and managed to get my Res down to 21c still alot higher then I'd like it but had no choice.. after bringing my pH back down I fed. In total between both tents I used 60L of fertilizer to get ren off through out but obviously they was super dry.
In the afternoon they looked happier but still not as happy as I'm used to my plants being I'm putting this down to feed strength and water temps.. we'll get there still going great!

I will update this afternoon hopefully on the DTW system as some progress has been made. So until then have a beautiful day family! Thanks for stopping by ✌🏽

🪚 DTW Build Update 🔨
Greenvein's Runtz
Good morning fellow stoners :bongrip: I hope you all have some nice plans this weekend! I'll be at work so thought I'd try catch up with you in my sold time.

Where to begin... My feed and drain pumps are installed and was run faultlessly with my last feed. I'm so happy with both of them I was thinking I was being a bit OTT with my feed pump as my two submersible pumps were doing the job ok but after finding this pump me being me could not resist.

Feed pump: Iwaki MD-40RM. Practically silent in operation and has enough power to feed both of my tents (14 plants) with ease.
I bolted the pump to my concrete floor underneath my resovoir to help keep the pump primed. Then I ran a feed pipe from the bottom of my Res to the floor then up to the pump to help expell any air.
A check valve was installed on both sides of the pump ( in & out) for servicing purposes. Finally the feed pipes go through a non return valve up ubove the water level then back down to a T piece splitting the feed to both tents, this stops anything running back to my Res and prevents water run away should anything fail.

PXL_20230604_194106695.jpg
PXL_20230604_194115584.jpg

Drain pump: BIL2000A Submersible bilge pump running off a 12v 13A 128w led driver. This pump is also very quiet and does its job very well! Actually too well lool not a problem but anyone looking a smaller version would be fine.
So I have a pipe running from a single drain in each tent to a T piece under my Res (blue pipes) then into a small bin. in the small waste bin sits my bilge pump which is activated by water level so every time it get around 7cm deep it pumps all water out untill it's empty which at the moment is a bucket that my wife uses for her garden flowers (they've taken off!) But can be used for anything or even straight down the drain.

PXL_20230608_173600589.jpg

So for other jobs completed and please excuse the mess but everything is a rush at the moment.
Two extra plug sockets was fitted so no more extension leads apart from in tent.. I also mounted my pump driver and feed relay power supply to a board with space to fit my timer/relay which just arrived. My feed pump currently has a connector block on the mains cable but this will be connected on the board once my timer is installed.

PXL_20230608_191417801.jpg

Now for my unexpected arrival 😁 after my temp struggle with my last feed I was searching for a way to cool it and came across aquarium chillers this then sparked my brains very limited memory that I sold one last year with all the equipment that was dumped on my but I was sure I had another in storage..

Introducing the Teco Seachill TR10! How lucky Am I this month 🤣 it's crazy the price of this thing online even though it's ancient. I downloaded the manual and installed it with zero cost.. it also has a UV sterilising feature that is probably upgradable.. I have no idea if this would be beneficial to a hydroponic setting hopefully one of you guys or @InTheShed @StoneOtter @Tokin Roll could enlighten me 🙏
My Res now fluctuates between 17.5c & 18?5c 👌🏽

PXL_20230610_064620672.jpg

Really could do with a bigger Res but we'll see next round.. I raised the neck on my feed pump so my Res never drains below my my ciller pump.

I think that's all so far so tanks for your time guys appreciate you all ✌🏽💚 have the best weekend!

Haha I see you use a 12V LED driver to run the pump? I did the exact same thing with my drain pump, everything else runs on 24V. Cheers!

Wow..:thedoubletake: impressive brother.
Nice clean and organized, but I don't have a clue what's going on.. think I'm going to be the "Last of the Mohicans" hand watering plants..lol
Awesome job in there. Have a great day bro:headbanger:
Thanks my bro, it's definitely been work trying to reduce work growing 🤦🏽‍♂️😂😂
Looks nice and tidy I do not understand all the indoor grow water systems but it does look nice.
Thanks Keith, I'd probably have the same if I was outdoor 😂 I'd try to be fence to fence of buds 😂😂

Hey Wastei, yeah i think it just makes sense lol simple solution. I might even get a few 12v fans on top of my lights to keep circulating air.. not needed but I always get carried away 😂

Day 24 veg
Greenvein's Runtz
Mars Hydro FC-E6500

Happy Sunday my pro grow bro's. Fortunately Work has been dead so I took the time to install my new light.. spectrum looks way better and more what I'm used to also with the driver on top of the tent I've managed to drop temps by around 5c and it's been getting hot outside so needed it.

So just a few photos I took of the light and how my ladies are doing today. As I gave them a full dry back they are showing signs of slight nitrogen toxicity. This is normal and the reason why they say not to do it but one time won't hurt.

Oh and it looks like butters betty could finally be producing some normal growth :yahoo: not sure if it was the ground cinnamon (anti fungal) or the added seaweed but hopefully it continues.

@lootznbootz my veg is looking more like 5 weeks this round but probably 4 in the future if I had dialed everything in sooner we'll see next round 😎

@Mars Hydro my current grow has about 12 weeks left but I'm currently picking some nice beans to start off a MH FC-E6500 three round perpetual. Will be doing my first multi strain grow in one tent followed by a multi strain sativa run then a faverote pheno run from of all the strains 🤞🏽

Enjoy the rest of your evening family thanks for stopping by. The rest is almost over back to the grind in the am! 💪🏼

Love bro, I could definitely flip today but going to raise the lights a bit for more headroom and install feed timer first.. I need at least two more feeds aswell to make sure I'm dialed underneath.
I'll have another jungle on my hands 😂 don't you remember my cheese grow 😂
