Time for another update:

I've harvested and dried both JD cuts and they came out remarkably uniform - 65 and 67 grams. So I'm all tonned up on the JD for awhile - 4 1/2 ounces onhand, heheh.

Kerala3 is my current fascination. This plant is completely different from her sisters grown in mineralized soil. Those of you who've followed my journal all the way will recall what awful plants those turned out to be. Kerala1 & 2 were disgusting wastes of my time. Kerala3 however, is a contender! I wish I could get some decent non-flash photos to show how plumped up she is. The test buds have been getting better and better. The most recent bud had a definite, unmistakable "social" high. The wife and I were jus' chattering away at each other. It's a really clean buzzy chatty high, and it's strong enough to be worth smoking. I'm optimistic! :thumb:

Hawaiian Snow is making a timid attempt to mimic Kerala3's plump, but it's sporatic. I recognize this behavior from my old sativas - some of the buds are done and are drying up, while others are setting new growth at the tips, and a few are producing gorgeous dense clusters of calyxes covered with trichs. I'll probably do a selective harvest on this one - cut the buds/branches that have finished and leave the rest to fatten up. This one, too, has an uplifting buzz, but I haven't had a test bud with much punch yet. I'll cut a decent branch this week and then I'll know.

JD3 is starting to look like a bit of a monster. I keep pulling the competing tops wider to lower them and she gettin' wiiiiide. The tiles in that overhead shot are 6 inches with 1/2 inch grout. Some nice trichs showing at 12 days since pistils ....

Like SLH and JD, White Panther has been a pleasure to grow every day. She's giving JD3 a challenge - taller, faster, with similar pistil set and nice trich formation. She has a fun minty aroma to her, too.

Panama is in the groove, gearing up for the big stretch. I wasn't so sure about the LST I did on her. She kinda paused for a week or so, but I think this is going to turn out well. I expect a pretty bushy plant with a half dozen fat colas.

Wild Thai is a real sweetie. Dunno, there's just something about this one. I'm just going to let this grow naturally. I think she's gonna grow up to be a beauty.

SLH Reveg noticed what I did to her and she's decidedly grumpy about it. Part of it is my fault - I left her under bright light after I cut her roots off - oops. I dimmed the light, but the damage is done - buncha dried up top fans. The encouraging news is the growth tips are sharp and reaching up.

WP1 (White Panther) is lookin' every bit as vigorous as her mother. I haven't decided how to train this one yet, but I'm leaning towards topping.

Tangering Dream ain' lookin' so hot. Anybody got ideas? It's been this way for a couple weeks, so I would expect that there's something off about the soil. My first JD looked like this until a transplant into 6 gallons and then she took off. This one stayed limp.

SLH1 has gotten her legs under her and is starting to thrive. I haven't decided whether this one or the reveg will go into flower. I may just keep SLH1 for a mother and flower the reveg.

Utopia Haze is going to be fun for me to grow. I've seen this fluffy, "fern"ish sort of habit in pics - it'll be interesting to watch it grow. I have a feeling that I'd better get this one into flower pronto, though - it kinda has that 7-footer look to it.

LOL, I knew you'd nail me on the trimming, Doc!

Yep, isn't that a dramatic difference in the Keralas? This one is in kit soil and the other flowering ones, too, yes. Now, this Kerala didn't have to go through the heat wave that the others did, but it's been a better looking plant all the way. It could be the pheno, but I think it's the kit soil. And the others got the same foliars and drenches.

Got any ideas for the Tangerine Dream?

I guarantee it's the kit soil.

Tangerine Dream? Cull it. That's my idea. I've seen several people grow it here and they all seem to be a bit frustrated with it....at least that's how it seems to me!

The rest of your plants look excellent!

Glad you like the big pic-filled updates, guys, LOL. :cheesygrinsmiley:

I wonder sometimes if it's too much, so I fire up the pipe and think about it, and well ...

... then I just keep posting lots o' pictures!

Kerala3 Came to 86 grams dried, 3.071 ounces - my biggest yield yet - and from a 24 inch plant!

It ran 162 days for 0.531 grams per day - pretty respectable. And actually, it idled for at least 30 days before I took it seriously and decided to veg it out and flower it, so it's more like 132 days for 0.6, like its sisters.

This is a good plant - good smoke. It's not as strong as the JD and SLH, but it has a great buzz - just what I wanted - nice and zippy. There's no comparison between this one and its sisters, and the only difference was the soil.

Doc's kit did much better ... period (heheh, no seriously). The ones in the good mineralized soil weren't worth smoking. This one passes the snob test. :cheesygrinsmiley:

man what a thread!! great job on your best pull to date :cheertwo:

im still in the process of reading all of it i sort of jumped into it about page 15, but i plan to start high brix as soon as my current grow is over, i just need to get ahold of doc bud and get a kit to get some soil cooking :thumb:

until then ill be drooling over high brix here!!

happy growing:bravo:

I can't imagine how you'd ever be sorry you bought a high brix kit from Doc! It isn't expensive and it provides us with a nearly perfect soil to work with.

I'm not much of a hypester, in fact I'm often an irritating devil's advocate sort, but I can easily say that the kit is "better". The terpenes were the final factor for me. My plants grown in high brix soil smell and taste better, are stronger, and if you wash them, have virtually no harshness. It's prime cannabis.

:blunt::headbang:

well im very glad to hear it and based of the grows ive been watching around here ITS DEF THE WAY TO GO. for the past few years i have been doing all organic AACT only type of grows and love it but this seems to be taking it to the NEXT LEVEL!!

i just got to get enough post to be able to PM doc bud unless there is another way to get ahold of him...i mean im trying to give the man money after all lol.

ive never "washed" my buds but im bout to research it now and see what i come up with
