Graytail's 4th Perpetual: 4x4 Samsung Panels

I stumbled in here because @Mr. Magoo said there was some good reading on lighting going on. I hit this last page and learned more about lighting in one post, not the whole thread, just one post (#461) then I have anywhere else. A very simple way to break it down for guys like me. So now I have to get rid of my 400 bick lighters I use in my tent and invest in in these COB lights or the quantum boards. It's hard to argue with facts. Thanks for taking the time to compile all this information in a simple to understand format @Graytail. I'll have to start from the beginning later so I haven't missed anything else here. :Namaste:

Heheh, I just got a hit off Zam+ that tasted like strawberry jam on slightly burnt toast. :p

Ya gotta love the cannabis, right?

I ended up a bit overwhelmed about the number of light meter apps and not knowing which ones might be crap or not. There was a good review of some that are available on Android devices, but none for iPhone. Most of them seem to just provide camera settings... anyone tried these apps for measuring lumens? ...

It struck me that I have now expanded the 4 part tray into an 8 part tray. From top to bottom, left to right, I'm currently enjoying ...:

Love it when the tray makes an appearance:yummy:

iphone...
I used 'lux light meter free'. It is not something I use. I used it very little when I first set up my lights. But it worked as a reference of what the lights were putting out in any given spot.
:goodluck:

I have an update. :bongrip:

First order of business is UBH - she done. :slide: This is the perfect size for this plant in my space - just enough time to grow a single fat cola, and just enough soil to get her there. The entire top was fat fluffy foxtails, all packed together. I didn't put anything in the pics for comparison, but that sucker is at least three fingers thick. And I had forgotten how great UBH smells. It's that thin landrace, sandalwood, spicy, citrus scent.

Utopia Haze x Buddha Haze - 91 days - Chop

Next up is DevilsCarnival4. I had a hell of a time restraining this one in veg - she wouldn't train, refused to give up her leaders, so I finally gave up and let her have the 6 she insisted on. Her clones, however, bloomed before they grew - got an odd pheno here. So I think that had something to do with it. But, ack, it's a real stinker! I wish I had a clone. Handling her caused an absolute explosion of berry! Stinky stinky girl.

DevilsCarnival4 - 38 days

Carnival 1&2 got flipped 2 weeks ago, starting to build buds

Blue Dream went into the bloom room on July 28th, 10 days ago.

Followed by BubbaHash - 6 days

And I only have three small ones in bloom right now - had a Zam+ turn male on me. The others will be ready in another week or so.

Mornin Gray...lookin very 'Gray' like around here!:cheer:
Gray , was curious why you are chopping that first one,..the single cola plant? She looks like she could go for several more weeks bud....wats up ?

Good question. :) As it turns out, there was mold developing inside that lovely bushy top.

And there were some tiny nanners starting to pop up. This is a rogue cross from an unstable Utopia Haze, and I remembered just in time. It started to fight the 11/13 a couple weeks ago, sending out little sugar leaves and making foxtails. 10/14 would help with that but I have other plants in the room. After 13 weeks, it would have just grown another round of foxtails and eventually the nanners would be a problem.

The mold wasn't bad - only lost a few grams. :slide:

I've got sooo much to learn. I have to be honest, it's like mixed feelings. I'm so happy that your plants did so well, and then I look at mine and say...wtf man. Then I keep saying things like 'the odds are that most people's first grows really suck' and I'll be fine next time. Then my mind wanders off to something else and life is good. Oh, look, a squirrel. Gotta go.
