Grandpa's Second Try - Come Join Us!

Awwwwww doggy. Look at that cute belly. He's so content. I wish I was there with you guys.
That makes 2 of us. I think you'd be amazed at how smart he is. Remind me to tell you some things that he has done and does that are just amazing. His younger brother is nothing more than a big 30 lb doofus who goes by the name of Dude.

ROFL!! He is naturally very anxious because of his breed, and seriously suffers from separation anxiety. It is quite rare to find him this relaxed at the time of day this picture was taken. But... He is a very lovey-dovey dog. And sure. You help me grow, we take you on as a pet. .
I'll help ya anyway I can grandpa
Just throw me a bone ed every now and then lol

Everyone got a little drink of 6.4 water today. The RW was very dry, so I moistened them again, buried the one into the Pearl Light, and lacking any knowledge, put about a quart of water around the edges of the Pearl Light. The other two got a little bit of a drink close to them with the rest being bored, a quote each, around the edges of the pots. I'm thinking that the light needs to come down a little, but I will have to wait until Monday for my daughter to take a pic.it feels like she's stretching already.

Okay okay rh is better then I've seen in the past wish we could get it up a tad more for ya want those roots specially in seedling getting their thrive on . me thinking emoji . Haha .

It doesn't take much light to get them to to take off. So. Now we need to think efficient for you ?
So if you don't need more power hitting them then easy she goes give a few days for sure .me thinking again emoji lol .

Man I really want this to work for you pal. Really do .

It's a dog's life. .

Spoiled or loved?

Neither. Lazy. I support a lazy one too.

I'll deliver a watering sermon later today.

Liar!
Better late than never.... maybe.

A sermon seems a bit much... I'll stay technical... sorry for the lack of entertainment.

First and foremost... ALWAYS remember to keep the drain hole clear while you water. Little bits of perlite can plug the hole, especially when the mix is new and the perlite is still settling. You can poke it with a toothpick or other small stick to clear the hole. Even after you've watered and let it drain till it's done flowing and you're about to put it back in it's home, tip the pot a bit and make sure that the water now filling the pot to the level of the hole flows out easily when tipped.

Watering is simple. Just like dirt really. Just pour water in evenly over the surface of the medium until it starts flowing out the hole. You'll end up using about 1/2 gallon when the plant is big and drinking heavily... probably about 1/4 gal when your baby is young. The idea is that you want about 1/4 of the water you dump in the top to flow out of the hole. The idea is to push the old water out with the new water.

Simple eh?

Just remember... keep ur hole clear baby!

Thank you my friend. Just as soon as we get some fix, I'll get them posted. I have been waiting for our third girl to pop out of the RW before I do much in the way of light adjustment. The other two seem to be doing all right, so I'm not stressing all that much. We also have the option of turning the other light on with the veg setting.

Congrats on your new babies! And your doggie is so cute! How can you not spoil them? .
Hiyas HH! Thank you for the congrats! You're right, at my age I would have them no other way but loved and spoiled. .

Got it. Thank you again for your wonderful detailed explanation! I just have one further question for you at this time... How do you tell when water is needed?

This was your 1234 post, you are numerically on the right consecutive path with this post. Just a geek thing you might find cool. Happy spirit day!

Just remember you don't need to Over waste your hydro bills if the light has a lab adjustable feature to lower wattage then do do. But let's get these things to take off your using the growant ?

That's a tough one

I would suggest doing 500 ml even twice a day possibly but me personally I go by lifting . Also I can see sometimes the outside of my pots look wet verse dry . Again I'm in coco .

So soil is prob even heavy to lift as it hold moisture.
That is why people try to add perlite or stones or pebbles. So it can dry out faster the more you feed In my mind the more it will grow faster . It is saying more more. So the faster it eats and drinks ?

Hmm what about he scale thingy?
How about 500 ml feed it whieght it. After say about 12 hrs check again the whieght see where is it or do every hour until we see what the plant is doing?

I wonder if a drip system would be ideal here ? Maybe complex but save you hassle as you can set a timer and bang they will feed you train it when you want to feed again?
Damn thinking here gramps .thinking emoji again lmao

How do you tell when water is needed?

By weight of the pot. You'll become very familiar with it as time goes by.
For the record, I've never seen an overwatered perlite hempy pot. I really don't think you can overwater the configuration. The perlite really gives the roots access to a ton of both air and moisture, thus avoiding overwatering.
Here's a fun thing.... monitor the moisture level with your finger at about 2 inches down into the perlite. You'll find a surprising amount of moisture even in a dry pot.

Right now, your lady is very young and trying to grow her roots out. At this phase of plant growth, I might even do daily waterings to help stimulate the tiny roots.

Finally figured out where the edit box is. My thanks to Lady G for the links. I have set up a folder on my home screen with them all inside to keep them organized. I'll get an update to you all as soon as I can. This is going to be quite a learning curve for me. Does anyone know when the app for Android will be functional again? Glad to be able to post again, at least.
