Grandpa Tokin's RDWC & Timber COBs

re: Grandpa Tokin's RDWC & Timber COBs

Hahaha! You’re right JM! I’m spoiled and soft in my old age.

I would not say Spoiled, wise fits better.

Yep, in my cart. Thanks!

I'm sticking with the bottled cause they worked great the first time around!

I hear ya.

Welcome Squat. I’m heading over to your garden to take a look. This grow and the last one were the first times I used Z7. Before that I was only using Hydroguard for several years. It works and works well, but it doesn’t work on the slime—especially if you can’t control your res temps. The Z7 is super in that regard.
Glad you’re here!

Thanks for that, but I think “old” fits. You and the rest of this 420 gang are the real wisdom. A collection of wonderful minds. I appreciate you being here.

re: Grandpa Tokin's RDWC & Timber COBs

Goodmorning Grandpa. I definitely know the deal haha.. I think I had my tent for 2 weeks before buying a bigger tent.. I've had my new light for 2 weeks and I'm already looking at new lights.. Hahahaha.

I'm also looking at a chiller for my new Rdwc set up for the bigger tent.

Any recommendations?

Woohoo! Day 2 Flower and they’re still alive!

Pretty boring actually...Like watching plants grow. LOL! The girls will get their first rez change today at some point. Still planning on feeding a 4-4-4 mix of BPN Grow-Micro-Bloom for another week. They look okay so that’s the plan even though PPMs are staying on the lower end.

There’s absolutely nothing like a clean fresh bong in the morning.

I wish I could. I bought an Active Aqua 1/10 and loved it for a month until it broke. I’m on the hunt myself. Let me know if you find something.

The guy at my grow store recommended the active aqua 1/10.. I mentioned I knew someone that had one break and he told me "as long as you're not moving it from house to house every week you're fine" like WTF hahaha.

Made no sense to me when I can clearly see you run a clean, logistically considerate setup.

Anyone have luck with thermoelectric chillers? I can artificially cool my tent(vent and ductbooster hooked directly to plenum) so generated heat is a non-issue.

Curious what that strange thing with blades on it is in bottom right of last pic

re: Grandpa Tokin's RDWC & Timber COBs

Gpa and shorti, Active Aqua makes good chillers but for some reason their 1/10hp chillers are unreliable. Maybe a different supplier for the 1/10 hp compressor? Regardless, the bigger units have far fewer problems. When you buy, err on the side of too big. Just like anything else, if it's too small for the job it will be stressed.

Looking good, it that a morter? Whatever it is, it's cool looking

Yes sir! 60mm mortar round...without the warhead naturally. :tokin: My plan is to refurbish it and make a faux warhead as a gift for someone.

Nice bong pops

Thanks Jack. I like it. The ash catcher makes it for me.

Good point Rider. I doubt I stressed it too much with 2 buckets though, but it was my first time...and I’m delicate. :tokin:

re: Grandpa Tokin's RDWC & Timber COBs

Lol that would be an excellent gift. Man I really want to try some rdwc or Dwc. I just don't have the room

I have that problem too. My flower room is only 6 x 5 feet (182.88 x 152.4 cm). It’s like the size of a small walk-in closet. I do have high ceilings though. You could definitely do one stand alone DWC bucket. That’s how I started.
