Good morning 420! It’s officially day 1 of flower for this Cough Medicine that Grandpa has going. They both appear healthy and have taken to the COBs and RDWC just fine. My res temps are still much higher than I’m wanting, but without my chiller I’ve got to do it the old fashioned way. It only lasts for awhile, but better than nothing I suppose. Everything else looks okay to me so I’m just going to keep on truckin and let em ride.

Easygoing day for me to relax and enjoy. So, while I’m redneck chillin I hope you have a wonderful 420 kinda day!

It may only help for a degree or two, but can you cover the feed, return and res with anything that will stop light from hitting them and heating um up.

Grandpa you will be fine up to high 70's with the z7 trust me.
My aquarium heater jacked up and water went from low 50s to low 80s for a few days.. Really screwed things up but the z7 prevented any sort of slime or rot.

I get the need for DO but 68-74 really isn't much of a difference.

I know my cookie looks great and is growing faster than I could have ever thought possible and I probably have an avg res temp of 73 with lights on.

I’ll try to get a picture this evening, but I wrapped the PVC with some leftover insulation. Not very professionally done, but it seems to be helping, I’m down 4 degrees, with the frozen bottles. If I could keep it at that I’d be golden:

I gotta admire the redneck chiller. After you've been at this long enough you stop panicking when things go wonky and fall back on casual inspiration. Makes cultivation in its many forms easier to live with. I can still remember how frantic I was for the first year, so afraid I'd kill them all off and have to go back to street drugs.

Day one of flower! Let the countdown to magnificance begin anew!

Thanks for that shorti. You’re right. If I didn’t have the Z7 I’d really be worried. I just prefer a lower temp. The short time I did have a constant 62-65F I noticed some phenomenal growth. Even more than the already huge growth with a normal DWC system. Your cookie is looking really nice shorti.

Oh man! Gpa, I had to laugh when I saw the size of your plants before flip. They were monsters! They ARE monsters. I just hope your stretch is reasonable or you're gonna need a bigger scrog net! I know this guy that let his plants get too big before flip and, well, LOL.

It looks ghetto, but it’ll do for now. I’ll dig up some more insulation, or something to cover the rest and the res lid. When this run is complete I’m going to rattle can the PVC and wrap everything much more professional looking. Having it the way it is now my OCD is causing my eye to water and twitch...just the right eye though...

Glad it is helping. They do have the foam pipe wrap if you are worried about looks till you get you another chiller, ya you will have one your spoiled now.
