Hey I could really use a hand in giving some good advice to a new hydro grower.. Love2grow28 DWC Recirculating Greenhouse Cheese Grow Journal - 2018

His plants are showing signs of necrosis and crispy leaves and all they have is a tap-root in a bucket, yet I can't seem to get it through to him that 500-600ppm is way too much for his little plant..

Day 9, and they’re still alive! Woohoo!

Welcome to another episode of, “Grandpa’s Shoelaces!” :tokin:

It’s a beautiful morning here. All seems to be in order. Last night I did a complete res change and filled her with her first Bloom nutes (everything is milliliters per gallon):

CalMag - 4
Micro - 4
Bloom - 8
Boost - 4
Carb - 3
Z7 - .5

That’s it. That’s what they will get. Nothing else. I’ll slowly work up to 12-1400 ppm hopefully. Depending on how they look.

I completed the res change last night and overnight the ph dropped quite a bit. I adjusted this morning, but I should remember to wait around after a res change to double check ph. Anyway, things look okay to me this fine morning so I’m in deep chill mode. I sincerely wish each of you a very fine 420 kinda day!

It's alive!

That clone looks perfect and healthy. You'd never suspect that its clone-mate succumbed to the dreaded mush.
Have you always used the PPM700 scale? It's unusual for a north American grower, but then, you're an unusual kinda guy. :)

I normally use EC...

Thanks for the response. Also just wondering, will you still do bucket Rez changes with the scrog? Or just pump z7 through the main system and not move the girls? Did some LST on my canopy to create a scrog effect with out the screen so they’re still mobile haha

I pump all the nutrient solution out and do a complete res change every 7-15 days depending. After that, I watch EC/PPM and decide what to give them to keep them at the level I want. The plants don’t get moved, just the water.

Haha well thanks for giving it a thought Grandpa. I posted for help here before he led me to think the same. I guess first hand experience will outdo anything we can say or suggest at this point.

Me too ;) I think it's part of being a grower. I've got burnt tips and 2 harvests that prove I'm a little hard headed so far. Hope to have many more .

I should've kept a handful of them in my pants when I was 18............but back then no one was into natural medicines.
