Grandpa Likes To Squeeze Stuff: Solventless Extracts, Rosin, Pressed Here!

You guys keep changing my mind...
That 10 ton table top design really has my eye right now. I'd prefer not to have a big H frame.

You’re not alone. I’m battling between the rp-35, rp-37 (caged), and the rp-47. They will all work on my press. The 35 is winning at the moment for price, but the 47 looks interesting because of the dual heating rod per block. I like the caged precision on the 37 too...doh! :goof:

Not the best pictures, but I did a lower temp squeeze today. On my diy plates I normally squeeze at 220-225 but today I started pressing at 180. I can see, smell, and taste the difference. Not really better or worse IMO just more terps at lower temps...duh...:hmmmm:

Very buttery consistency and easy to snap-n-pull. Enjoy!

yield about the same? or less?

Someone who counts to three without using an index finger....He must be dutch.

Do you press for longer at the lower temps Gramps? And do you ever repress? I decided to repress the BCP I did the other night and it gave me enough for another hit or two.

How big are the blocks in question? Does it say the size of elements?

LOL! I just figured out their coding: rp-35 = 3x5 plates; rp-47 = 4x7 plates, etc. I don’t see the size of the elements though.

I did press for longer at lower temps. Several minutes longer. I didn’t time it though.

I normally don’t repress. I used to, but now I throw the pucks (bag and all) in a jar that I keep in the freezer. When I get enough in the jar I’ll do an everclear run with them. Normally—if there is such a thing around here—I make my olive oil capsules from the alcohol extractions and dab the rosin.

Yield seemed about the same. I didn’t measure...darn...I’m so used to just doing it. I really need to weigh everything so I have an idea huh? LOL! What I really need is an assistant...someone to do the work and I sit back and supervise...yeah, that’s what I need. The pay sucks but the environment is friendly... :cheesygrinsmiley:

They are given in the description:
Specifications:

  • Temperature Range: 0-399F
  • Voltage: 110V
  • Power: 500W
  • Plate Size: 3" x 5"
  • External Package: 14.0" x 14.0" x 6.1"
  • Gross Weight: 9.5lbs

Too easy. 1200w on the 47 plates! 2 heaters per block has me interested. Heat up time probably cut in half. Might be overkill for an old dude in a barn though.
Yeah, I'm trying to pump the brakes here. How much am I really going to squeeze, just for myself. I am notorious for overkill and buying shit I only use once or twice.
Smaller plates should give me more pressure per square inch? Rather than going for larger plates and larger press, right?

Sounds logical...oh look another shiny thing...:D

I hear ya Bobby. I probably should stick with what I have and be happy.

Or you could sell me your old one at a "friend price"...:laughtwo:

I am not into the 'smaller plates' 'bigger jack' camp. Anything smaller than 4x4 and you have to pull a Kennedy and have an weed assistant with small hands like GPT mentions.

Your variable cost is bags. Find a press that is efficient. and you can do a few days work in one run. Pressing 2-4g of material at a time gets old fast for us stoners.

I started small....trust me.

There’s a few guys locally that want the plates. Sorry. I may just keep them though. I know who did the electrical work...:nervous-guy:

I had a hair straightener and a hand clamp...one small bud at a time. LMAO! That got old...fast. LOL!

...and then I had to walk 5 miles to school...in the snow...uphill...both ways!

Solid info! Thanks.

Although Dabpress swears by skinner plates, so the rosin leaves the heat faster. That’s what I read...
