Grandpa Likes To Squeeze Stuff: Solventless Extracts, Rosin, Pressed Here!

Hey guys, I put 7 grams in a press like this one and squeeze it or hammer it to a puck, then put it in a bag with the ends poked in like GT mentions somewhere I can't find. You take a pen and push the two tips of the end of the bag in verted to the middle so the bag looks like it is a point on the bottom. Snug the puck onto that and cut the bag 1/2 inch more that the puck. Fold bag and insert into wax papered warm plates.

For pressure I use a little pressure. :p Starting to feel it in the handle, for 30 seconds every 5 seconds or so I gently feel if the handle wants to lower as the puck softens with heat. After 30 seconds I slowly pump until I can't and wait for 1.5 to 2 minutes total from start to finish. Watching all the goo oozing from the seam! Sorry all the stuff is not here. What I have is different than yours to I think. But that's how I interpreted GT's tutorial when I found it.

heat your plates 1st ... !!!!!!!!!!!! heat 1st.. hit your temp to stabilize for awhile.. start press slowly

i go 1 min at 200 lbs just to warm up the puck...

then slowly increase over the next min to 5500lbs... leave 1 more min under pressure 3 mins total time

im done release press and start scraping ...

on your cold plate..
 
Last nights press I’m redoing. More squishes and for longer. I can bump the temp - just worried about burning.

Then I’m going up to my mates farm for a BBQ for Easter where there is a guy working there who I reckon has the relevant experience to test properly. He’s Scandi. He has experience 😂

He can test this crazy!

Just a single press. Let it warm to 147C half pressed. Cranked to max for 90 seconds.

Looks much more promising!

hey brother .. did you say you heat your plates to 147c? are you trying to combust your weed on the press?

that is way to hot bro.. you want atleast under boiling point of water 100 c at sea level..

try 195 f ....

Thanks - just in the experimental phase. Think the machine comes as default 225F Didn’t seem to pop out much before to went high and long as opposed to default and short.

Will dial it in over the next few and see what works.

i just did my 1st rosin press must be 4 or 5 months.. great press of my do si do harvest march 23 ..

nice buzz from 2 hits.. took some pics for you nicer than words sometimes.. was thinking of you burning up your
rosin on the press 91c and 5500lbs should pour out like the pics.. now the weed type will vary outputs... alot!

well after another hit.. holy firetruck.. this is pretty good .. looks like im having a great harvest for a change.. no problems .. ok knock on wood keep fingers crossed..




 
smoking on the nail.. is a little less intense of a hit verse the quartz bowl and blow torch but its way easier and
always ready to go .. on the same rig.. super head rush big bong and quarts bowl..

 
the do si do elite plant is very impressive... i was trimming and ripping off the bottom buds into the butter box
pulled off 3 oz or so.. so notice fingers again where caked in hash.. so i pressed the bottom buds untrimmed

17 % yield of some very potent rosin.. wow impressive plant..

also give warning very addictive smoking rosin .. i cant stop.. its so tasty good ...

oh yes drying in the bath room kept around the 62 mark with fan.. 10 days just right for pressing .. the lower
buds would be a bit dryer than the main colas.. ive done some mid colas at 18.5 percent these bottom produced
17 percent .. untrimmed lower yeilds.. mains i bet over 20%
 
I can never figure how people get a nice large pool of rosin on a teflon pad..I take it off as a super sticky blob Ona moulding tool?

wow super tasty .. about 25 days since chop.. curing up a few weeks in bucket..

Dosi is so tasty dabbed! Mine was grapefruit.
 
trimmed up my last do si do plant .. wow got blonde finger hash..

i noticed pick up a few dog hairs in the photo.. wow this blonde stuff is awesome to smoke wow!!!!!

Are you weighing what you press ? Are you making a puck or just stuffing the nug in the bag ? If your just smoking the rosin forget the bag just use the parchment paper and press away. I forget who had me do that when I first got my press but it worked just fine .
I hear ya @West Hippie , been smashing fer bout 4 years and have never used a bag, but I do not smoke just edibles.
