Grandpa Likes To Squeeze Stuff: Solventless Extracts, Rosin, Pressed Here!

Yeah, I got that part, but what size/gram packs do you guys use in a 1 quart jar for example? There are several different size packets available in each humidity level. Thanks.

I use the little ones (8 gram) for little jars and the large (60 gram) for my large c-vault containers.

Today I used the Decarboxylated Cheese Rosin to make hard candies for dosing my med's.
Daaaaamn that looks yummy! I bookmarked that and i'll be in contact soon with some questions, but it seems fairly simple.
The taste of the Rosin is very strong and stays in the throat very long after completely melted.
And sounds amazing!
Naked puck 3.5g, pressed at 100C for 6 minutes, second press folded in half for 6 minutes also.... 0.72g return....
Just call me.... The Naked Pucker... Hahahaha!

Lowie that looks dank!
Damnit! I went there looking and ended up ordering a new rig!
Nice new rig gramps!

Every atomizer I've used for vaping has had at least part of the coil exposed. Most of the outside of the coils has been covered in cotton. Some coils have a ceramic shell, wrapped in cotton. Either way the interior of the coil was exposed.

For arguments sake, let's say you can find a coil for rosin or wax that's encased in ceramic or quartz. That ceramic or quartz would need to be heated to an appropriate temperature first, before you could take a drag. Once you release the power the ceramic or quartz would need much more time than a coil to drop below the temperature needed for vaping. All the while you get to watch your hard work go up in smoke.

If you are worried about it check the vaping forums. We've had many a discussion on this. I decided on nickle, temperature controlled coils, over kanthal, or titanium.
Solid info. Thanks much!

Well I guess it's time to begin another journal. Put 13 seeds, 5 - G13 Haze, 4 - BlueBerry and 4 - Original Skunk in cups of RO water treated with very small amounts of CaliMagic/Epsom and pH'ed to 6.0.
Not sure what type of grow this will be yet, either vertical or horizontal, depends on germination and future growth during veg. These will go into Coco Solo's when they are rooted enough.

The journal will be in the coco forum.
Come on by and sit a spell!

good luck on the new grow pal :)
always exciting planting seeds lol (not that i have many under my belt!!)
interested in the blueberry, who was the breeder? i have some seedsman blueberry to pop some time.
just secured some seeds from dutchseedshop for a sponsored grow for the next though :) so will watch yours first and see whats up lol

my first ever blueberry experience the stuff was out of this world full of flavour, sticky as hell and ground up to nothing lol but taste was phenomenal, never really had a proper blueberry since, so dont know if it was a one off or if thats how it should be lol

it was around the time psychosis hit the uk scene, which funnily enough is or was a clone only, but i stumbled on some seeds today...
ive been waiting to get a hand on some psycho cuttings through a couple links for a while lol no such luck yet

This was one puck of Cheese and two of G13. -
Cheese - 7g = .8 gram = 11.5%
G13 Haze - 14g = 3.57g = 25.5%
Yes at least part of my grow this fall will be G13

Top is Cheese, bottom two are G13

@BobbyZ , Top and bottom of the puck after press you can see the fold.

I hope this is cool and not breaking any rules... :cheesygrinsmiley:

You guys have to look at these pictures!

Today I was going to compare the 30 and 40mm pucks. I computed the pressures for the 40mm pucks based on what I was using for the 30mm pucks.

Mold Dia
(mm)
Base Area
(mm^2)
Sleeve Area
(mm^2)
Flower Qty
(gm)
Stage 1
(PSI) 1 min
Stage 2
(PSI) 3 min
Stage 3
(PSI) 30 sec
3014145000710010002500
40251373601417817804443

Well things just didn't work the way I wanted them to. The 40mm puck was a real struggle to get into the sleeve I cut from a 2.5" X 4.5" filter bag. At the pressures I used, the sleeve ripped apart, leaving this mess:

40mm Puck Ripped Apart

So, I won't be using the 40mm pre-press again. The purpose of these squishes was to have been to see if there was a difference in yield between the puck sizes, and possible figure out how much rosin stayed in the fabric of the bags. That didn't happen due to the 40 mm bag ripping apart.

30mm Puck, Normal Squish

Another problem that showed up is that the rosin from both squishes was too liquid to pick up from the parchment, even after ten minutes in the freezer. I'll let it sit and some of the liquid evaporate before giving that another go.

Exactly why I picked up the "slick paper".
It works like a charm, but you'll still have to use the freezer and manipulate the rosin while it's cool and before it reaches room temp.
:passitleft:

I used a silicone coated parchment as well. The last time I pressed, the rosin came off easily.
