Grand Daddy Purple S1 & Pre-1998 Bubba Kush S1

Another recap :cheesygrinsmiley: I used two different GDP S1 mother plants and a father from the third generation of what I described above, and these are the offspring. I originally numbered the dark purple S1 mother "#1" and the S1 mother that resembled an f1 GDP pheno I kept for a while "#2". I changed the dark purple mother to "#2" when I tried to reveg it and I didn't think it was gonna live. The other plant came back okay (but weak) and it got labeled "#1".
These six plants are all from the now #1 mother. First GDP S1 x GDP f3:

Second GDP S1 x GDP f3 (probably a reveg):

Third GDP S1 x GDP f3 (I'll pick the gnat off later):

Fourth GDP S1 x GDP f3:

Fifth GDP S1 x GDP f3:

Sixth GDP S1 x GDP f3:

They all look close, which is a good sign. They all finished at the same time, which is a good sign. They all smell close to the same, which is a good sign (except they smell mostly skunky and barely grapey). That's all of them in that tent (600w HPS), and the only three sister plants left in there are from the second mother. Next round I think I'll be able to cross #1 and #2 together.

If I can get something next round from the second mother that looks like either one of these, I'll use it as the mother plant for the cross. They're holding the purple color and they have bulk (the third pic is a middle bud; the plant is tall and in the back of the tent so it's hard to get a good pic of the top):

A father from that first mother should have purple in its chromosome.

Here's a few pics of what I've noticed with these GDP S1 offspring plants. The dark color only comes out where light hits the leaves:

Pretty weird.....

Cool! I haven't seen the effect before, but I remember reading about the colors in tree leaves. They're chlorophyl-based pigments, just like the green? Sumpin like that.

So, makes sense.

Wow that's pretty dark. Not if it hermies, though. :)
I kept four different sister plants to the GDP S1 x GDP f3 father I'm using for reveg. Two were for yield and hardness of the buds, and the other two were for the trichome coverage and dark purple trait. Here's the one I kept for yield:

Here's the one I kept for the rock hard nugs:

Here's a piece of main stem on one of the plants. It also turned purple only where light shined directly on it:

Neat! :thumb:

Thanks man. Here's both GDP S1 backcross mothers:

I've got a clone of the second mother and two plants of the first mother going now, so I'll have plants to do a second backcross to when it comes up. So this part of this second project is almost done for the moment, and I have those seedlings going from my more and less haired first GDP breeding project going. I'll start this project up again after these MH/LH plants are done.
Man, I need to think of different names for this so I don't confuse everybody (and mostly myself). I may in the future start calling them my GDP S1 backcross project and my GDP f1 breeding project.
