Let me know, and thanks for stopping by! :Namaste:

Blue Cheese LOST PHOTOS!

The following photos were taken back in late May when my Blue Cheese plant had been in 12/12 for five weeks. I thought these photos had been lost before I joined 420. That is until today when I learned that a friend I emailed them to had saved them! I just got them back so...

Here they are!

Three weeks later, the plant looked like someone had frosted every flower top with teal colored powdered sugar! The trichomes were so thick that all the flower buds turned BLUE!

Most of you have seen these last shots, but I wanted to put them on the same post for a...

So to all you first time bud farmers out there who may be fretting over your plants slow progress at the first 4 weeks of flowering... Just look at what that last four weeks can do! :yahoo:

I'm new to growing and I got to say your pics are really inspiring, if I can have results even close to as good yours you wouldn't be able to get the smile off my face...

Cool! Welcome aboard iminadaze! Glad you liked all the photos and info! Since you are growing something very similar to my Blueberry Kush, you will probably find a lot of info here to help you with your grow!

I appreciate your positive comments about my various growing projects. Summer is the most frantic and busy time around here, as I try to capitalize on our ideal outdoor growing conditions from about Mid-June through the end of October, before the first frosts hit. Nothing grows this stuff better than real sunlight, so I raise as many outdoors as I can, flower as many indoors during that time as space and time permits, and then let the remainder flower naturally outside on the back hill. The outdoor grows terminate with the first major frost that kills off any remaining plants outside in one fell swoop. Of course I try to harvest all of them before nature takes them out with a night in the low 20s!

With winters being very unpredictable up here in the Sierra, with major snow storms and week+ long power outages, I try to have my indoor operations pretty much shutdown by December and continued downtime through about Mid-March.

I keep a mother plant of each of my best producing strains from the previous year under my 4x4 High Output T5 fixture, but cut them back to the bare nubs like I do with our Rose Bushes, and keep them under a 18/6 until Spring. We then do it all over again. :thumb:

My goal is always to produce enough dried bud to last me through the downtime. Last year was a bit tight and I had to augment my supply with some store bought, but this year, I expanded my grows to capacity and should have a surplus of bud going in to the winter of 2011/2012.

Once again, thanks for stopping by, and please check back often! I tend to update this journal with new photos and progress reports at least twice a week, sometimes more depending on what is going on that particular week.

Cheers. :)

Yo Gooseman umm do u know any1 who can help me with some F.O.G.(Fruit Of the Gods) cause my friend had some xtra seeds and i thought the name sounded cool to grow btw any more pics of the Blueberry???

The one that killed ur plants right out of the box lol...

Oh...The Turbo Klone T48!

Check out this journal update and the one right after it, where you can read about how they handled the problem in a VERY professional manner. Haven't had a problem with the unit since and everything is working great!

I would recommend the Turbo Klone brand to anyone who is looking for the most advanced factory made cloning machine on the market right now! :thumb:

That first batch of clones that came out of the unit are thriving in their respective pots out back! In fact, I am just about to post my first Weekend Update with the latest photos.

As for that F.O.G strain... I'm personally not familiar with it, but perhaps someone else who frequents my journal can help you out. Have you checked the 420 sponsor seed banks here to see if they stock that strain?

Might be a good place to start looking.

Stay tuned! :thanks:

Weekend Update 1 • Outdoor Grows Photo Updates!

Hard to believe that a week has already gone by since my last major update! Time sure flies these days! They say the older you get, the faster it goes, and I am forced to agree! But... I digress. :focus:

Nothing Grows Cannabis Better Than Clear Mountain Air and Unfettered July Sunlight!
Here are the latest photos for the weekend of July 29th, 2011

The "Back Hill" is reserved for the "RunAway" Monkey/Jungle plants that won't fit under lights and are too tall to go on the deck. These will all be flowered naturally in September through early November.

My next Turbo Klone session is fast aproaching and I have decided that I AM going to TOP GDP #3 and add the growing tip to the cloning session.

Here is a close-up shot of the tip with the red arrow indicating the spot I plan to cut it off from. I will then slice that bottom node through the center with about 1/4 inch of angle sliced stem below it. If all goes well, I will end up with a 6-8" tall plant with root spikes. This could be a better choice of being my "overwinter" GDP mother plant over GDP #1.

Speaking of cloning growing tips!... Remember this sorry little Blueberry growing tip cutting that refused to grow a millimeter for nearly 6 weeks after attempting to clone it in Rockwool?

This HUGE waiting period is one of the reasons I purchased the Turbo Klone and why I want to try cloning a similar gowing tip in there and comparing the rooting time. We all know that TIPS are somewhat harder to root than the lower branch cuttings tend to be, but as you can see from these photos, IT CANE BE DONE! :) I wouldn't rule out the steady diet of Liquinox B1 Transplant Solution and Alaska Fish Emulsion with at least keeping the plant alive long enough for the lazy bum to get around to putting down some serious roots! :laughtwo:

Side by side with a Second Gen Purple Urkle CloneNotice the difference in fullness between these two strains! Even after multiple prunings, the Urkle is still much more willowy and all over the place! The Blueberry Kush has that perfect connical shape and dense foilage!

We will close with a few random shots of some of the plants from our recent Turbo Klone session that ended on July 18th, 2011

We must wait to post our Blueberry Kush Flowering update a little later today due to the position of our experimental 14/12 light cycle. Today our Bloom Room lights don't come on until 12 noon and will stay on until 2AM tomorrow morning. As soon as the lights come on in there, I will get some flower bud shots for ya! It is starting to appear that this 26 hour day cycle is beginning to impact the plants. Can't tell yet if it is for the good, or for the bad.

Until then, enjoy your Friday! :thumb:

Weekend Update 2 • Bloom Room Photo Updates!

Ok guys... Now we get into the good stuff!

Blueberry Kush Original Clones 1 & 2

BBK Colas on Parade!

P1011032.JPG
P1011038.JPG
P1011039.JPG

I am starting to worry a bit about some leaf yellowing and spotting in specific areas of the plant that I wouldn't expect to be seeing this early in the flowering cycle. Other areas of the same plant look totally healthy with no sign of any leaf damage! Anyone want to chime in with a suggestion of what might be causing this? Just normal fanleaf "pullback" for Blueberry Kush?

P1011034.JPG
P1011033.JPG

Just one branch over from those leaves are clusters like this
P1011036.JPG

P1011037.JPG

I've been feeding these two BBK clones FoxFarm Big Bloom once every 7-10 days 3 TBSP per gallon. Could I have pulled back on a Nitrogen based fert like Grow Big too soon? Big Bloom has virtually zero Nitrogen. The confusion for me is more over the fact that some sections of the plant look as green as green can be, right next to these yellowing and spotted leaves. I generally start with Bloom nutes at the end of Week #2. Perhaps BBK doesn't like that?

Grand Daddy Purple #2 • Week #3 of flowering cycle

Not seeing any of those issues with our "Cute" little GDP #2!
P1011041.JPG

I am noticing that the flower buds are noticeably smaller than what I was seeing on the BBKs at Week 3. Perhaps this is part of the "Low Yield" complaint many have with Genuine GDP? Given, the plant is only 17" tall, so perhaps it is just based on the physical size and age of the clone.

Another shot showing a secondary cola
P1011042.JPG

And there ya have it!

In our next installment we will be covering our second Turbo Klone session that will involve Blue Cheese and GDP cuttings! That all starts on Monday!

Have a great weekend everyone! :thanks:

Hi GG:)

Sure glad you joined 420..We need folks like you. You certainly know what your doing. What a grow and what a nice set up. I noticed my buddy THsea is gathering info from you for his soon to be grow. Anyway welcome to the fold. :high-five:

This may help you find out what thoses spots are on some of your leaves. Nasy looking stuff! :smokin:

WOW! Thanks for the kind words and encouragement OldMedMan! That means a great deal to me, especially coming from you! :thumb:

THSea is a good egg! Has been asking me a few questions and trying to get all the info possible before starting his own grow. I frankly CAN NOT WAIT for THSea to start a journal and start posting photos of his first grow!

And thanks also for that link to the various plant issues. I looked through there but could not find a deficiency that manifested with the exact look of the leaves I am seeing on the Blueberrys. It could be that the soil has become locked and needs a good flush with PH balanced water, so I am going to try that this weekend.

I rarely have any issues with my Cannabis plants as you can see from all the photos in this Journal, so I am a bit at a loss to explain this. I am running these plants on an experimental 14/12 - 26 hour day light cycle, so perhaps that is simply speeding up the flowering process and the plants are pulling back on their leaf support?

As you can see from the previous photos of these plants, they were thriving 100% just a week and a half ago, so whatever this is, it came on fast.

Anyway.... I will see if a good flush makes any difference. After that, I may go back to a 12/12 or a 12/13 and see if that makes a difference. Not worried about losing the plants or anything at this point since 75% of both plants are still fully dark green and healthy. Only certain areas of the plant show signs of this problem. Hot spots perhaps? FLUSH would solve that!

Thanks again for checking out journal!

Cheers. :)

Hey GG7
I saw your post on another thread :thanks: I also read back 3 or 4 pages of your posts and really apreciate your insight on t5s ........ some thing I debate for a long time.
I have more compliments and probably some questions but I gotta go for now
I have a Big day planned with feeding and preharvest flushes. :yahoo: OK 1 question
Just before harvest do you keep them in total darkness for 1 to 3 days ?
Thanks, talk to you soon :peace:

Hey ClayHead!

Thanks for stopping by! :Namaste:

I haven't tried the "total darkness" thing before but I AM planning to give this a try at the end of my Blueberry flowering session in a couple of weeks. :thumb:

I've heard that this technique can squeeze a tad more out of the plants before harvesting. I've also heard that putting vegging plants you want to flower into 36 hours of total darkness before starting the 12/12 light cycle can get them into flower mode faster.

I will of course report my own findings on whether this has any effect or not. If you are interested in special techniques and such, you should check out my thread called: 14/12 Photoperiod and Other Non-24 Hour Options?

I've got my flowering plants running on a 26 hour cycle of 14/12 and documenting the effects. I am just about to post another update. :)

damn i got alot to learn hope i do gud wen its my time to start :( other than that i am learning so there is the upside thanx for the info Gooseman
