GDP & Rocklock w/Diesel and Ultraviolet Autos

Re: Tactical's Blue Planet Nutrient Fueled GDP & Rocklock w/Diesel and Ultraviolet Au

SNS is pretty impressive. I used the fungus spray on my fan rather the plants. Other than that Im pretty interested in seeing how the organic growth supplement works out. I just like the growing book foreal. It has all the secrets and the bullshit not to listen to in it.

So back to your plants. I cant wait for the updates. Hopefully we will throw or clones into flower at the same time. This time im bumping my flower room up to a 600w HPS and turning the 400w MH/HPS to a 2 week extra veg room. And then just using my T5 for cloning and seedlings. I will keep my T5 on a 16/8 schedule while the 400w Mh/hps is running on GLR. 600w of course flower. I think it will be alot easier that way with the transitioning and if any extra time for either or is needed.

Sounds like a really good plan.

Did I ready that correctly wiz? 16/8? Is this a new one or did you mix up the numbers? Never heard of it. Any benefits other than saving a couple hours of electricity?

Just figure I 'd throw it out there since you were worried about the extra time you may need in veg since you may run out of space with them getting so big

Its GLR schedule for seedlings. Also theres no where on the planet earth that the sun shines for 18hrs so theres no point to me in running 18 hrs of light. Theres also no difference from 24hrs or 18 hrs. All unnatural lighting if you ask me. My opinion though. But yea I like to save electricity also. :)

I understand your point, but this statement is technically untrue. :Namaste:

I'm just south of the border with Canada. I think we get damn near 18 hour days in Summer. I know they do further north.

Yea thats true when it comes to being closer to either poles. But basic lighting is 16hrs. This all depends on earths Equinox. I was just stating that theres no difference in the lighting schedule though.

There's no place on earth where plants naturally grow in closets, either! (though as pointed out there are places that light shines for 18 hours). ;)

Having said that 16/8 might work great. I would expect it to be a quicker transition to flower than 18/6, at a minimum. Keep us posted as to how that works, Wiz, it might be a good option to those who don't want the added complexity of GLR, but do want to transition to flower quicker. Just a thought...

I think there are a lot of ways that you can go for vegging. I've done it several ways, and don't notice much difference between them in all honesty. For all the detractors of 24/0, it does work just fine - though it may add a day or two to the time it takes to get pistils. The 12-1 technique (Gas Lantern Routine) does seem to get you to bloom faster, and I do think there's something to the flowering hormone build-up. By that logic, though, 16/8 might get you to building flowers faster than 18/6? Seems logical anyway...

Re: Tactical's Blue Planet Nutrient Fueled GDP & Rocklock w/Diesel and Ultraviolet Au

you got my vote brother

Thank you. :)

As for all the talk about lighting schedules, I agree with Xlr8 when it comes to veg. I still firmly believe that the first 2 weeks of 12/12 if using MH does decrease stretch considerably. I also saw another post, I forgot who's journal it is in, but it does mention color temps during different times of the day which makes perfect sense and goes back to an argument I made about how the suns angle passing through our atmosphere and our angle alignment with the sun plays a key role with color temperature. I will have to go and find this post and then continue to develop my theory and then figure out a way to prove it.

Re: Tactical's Blue Planet Nutrient Fueled GDP & Rocklock w/Diesel and Ultraviolet Au

Just to chalk this up on the board real quick,
I vegged my 5 OG's with 16/8 schedule after I noticed GLR was causing them to show heavy signs.
Apparently some sativa strains don't really like GLR.
After vegging for almost 3 more weeks using 16/8, I switched back to GLR for the last week before flip.
Put lights out for 36 hours, then they were on 12/12.
5 days later I saw prominent flowers! :yummy:
so it does work..

And that was vegged using HPS too!
Let me mention that these plants were so tight internodally, that the little stretch that the HPS might have given over MH, seemed to balance the plant out perfectly as they danced into flower..
Wouldn't hesitate to do it again!

I only use the 16/8 lighting for seedlings and cloning. After 2 weeks I put them on GLR schedule. I just feel like no point in wasting electricity if you dont have to.

I'm doing the same thing except going from 18/6 (which is what I learned of/heard of first so that's what I used to always use) to GLR after week 2 of seedlings. Hey next time I'm gonna try 16:8 see if I notice any difference. I bet it would save a few bucks on the bill regardless!

Only difference youll notice will be on your electricity bill with the 16/8 schedule.

Re: Tactical's Blue Planet Nutrient Fueled GDP & Rocklock w/Diesel and Ultraviolet Au

Thats why I love the whole GLR schedule. great for stealth and saving money plus theres a big growth difference. I cut my electricicty bill in half since switching to GLR. I use to push out 5kwh not its average 2kwh per month. No more than 3. Plus been keeping my temps low also what ever that means. It shows a whole scale on my electric companies website of my house and usage.

In southern Canada you will get 18 hrs of light for less than a week out of the year and that is including twilight.
heres a link that shows this.
Sunrise and Sunset for Canada – Ontario – Toronto – July 2012
by the time outdoor plants get actual sunlight its usually 6:30-7 am with the sun going down around 9pm.thats 14-15 hrs a day.

Re: Tactical's Blue Planet Nutrient Fueled GDP & Rocklock w/Diesel and Ultraviolet Au

I ended up moving up the light this morning and upon their evening check up it looks like the babies will be ready to be topped by Sunday. I will flower the clones while rooting them and this will let me know if there are any boys hanging out with the ladies. Overall the plants are looking beautiful and If they are all girls I will be in good shape. I will probably add my 150w HPS to the tent as it has been returned. :)
