GDB's Bubblegum Machine

Hello gang.

This morning the "normal" Royal Queen Bubblegum XXL was chopeth! She spent 2 days in the Box of Darkness and looked it. Her obit pic:

I know there's some debate over whether a period of darkness at the end improves plant quality or not. I honestly don't have an opinion on the matter. I have not heard that it's detrimental to plants so I do it just to get my head in order for the chore that's to come and also to sorta' plan it, setting aside the time and day that I'll expect myself to be up to the task.

I'm glad. This plant finished with most of it's fan leaves still intact. Thus, this pile of vegetation looked daunting.

It took me about 1.5 hours to get that pile down to this array with the fans removed. Once again, I'll leave the heavy-lifting to the bowl trimmer once she's dried.

Some, no many, of her buds were quite chonky. I lost only a single bud to mold.

And all were sticky and frosty:

She overflowed my big bowl and weighed in at 710 grams wet so may be around 6ozs. dry.

So I'm down from 5 plants to 3 in the Bubblegum Machine grow.

It appears that the Kera Bubblegum will be the next to go, followed by the Grape Ape clone. The Black Cherry Pie will be the last woman standing!

Thanks for looking in.

Peace.

Congrats on yet another bountiful harvest, GDB!:bravo:

Congrats on the harvest, GDB! Do you trim the fan leaves from the plant before chopping down? I find doing that helps a lot with the rest of the trimming.

Also, doesn't your bowl trimmer blade get gummed up with trichomes when trimming such sticky plants?

Why do a lot of people post weights of the same flower using different terms, i.e. using grams and ounces to describe the same thing? So, I guess I want to know is why you said "710 grams wet" but referred to ounces once dry? Why not say "168 grams dry"?

Hey Hashgirl!

I sometimes remove the fans while the plant is still standing, but not this time. Either way accomplishes the same thing.

No, I've never had a problem with the blade getting gummed up, but I'd like too!

Regarding the weight description, I guess it's related to my buying habits over a lifetime. When I was dealing with "dealers" I always requested a "lid" (the term we used for half an ounce) or an ounce, never 14 grams or 28 grams. Either way accomplishes the same thing, again! :)

Congratulations on the harvest!
Those are some tasty looking buds!

Congrats on a wicked harvest my man. Those super chunky funky looking buds are mouth watering brother. Bowl trimmer looks like it saves a heap of time, I’m still using scissors.

Congrats on another great harvest GDB 🌿

It's a great day when you're swinging the axe! Nice work! And Chonky and frosty as hell!

Congrats on yet another bountiful harvest, GDB!:bravo:

Congrats on the harvest!

@Grand Daddy Black , great looking harvest, I applaud you for your yield.

Congrats on the harvest GDB

Nice looking Buds Congrads Man :green_heart:
Please forgive me for not responding to each of you individually, but there is a common theme to your posts. And there would be a common theme to my responses...Thanks so much! :Rasta:

Hey GDB!!! Did you know this strain existed?

NTH
Yes I'm aware NTH.

In fact I've grown one but she got devoured by spider mites. I still have 4 beans left and need to put her on my Do-over list!

Hello growers.

Last night the Kera Bubblegum got chopped on Flip + 81. I was kind of dog-tired at the time so I didn't take a lot of pics.

She had a lot of ties on her and I enjoyed watching her fall into a slumping mass as I removed them! Here's her Obit pic with the ties removed:
RQ Bgum Obit 7-20-22.jpg

Here's the pile she created:
RQ Bgum pile 7-20-22.jpg

And here's her array pic:
RQ Bgum array 7-20-22.jpg

She was the stickiest one out of this grow so far, but her buds lacked a little in the density department.
I didn't weigh her but she's about the same size as the RQ Bgum was, so she should be in the neighborhood of 600+ grams.

Only 2 more to go in the Bubblegum Machine grow! :Rasta:

Thanks for looking in.

Peace.

Good morning GDP :ciao: hope you are well my friend.
Mind if I ask a question? :Namaste:
With all the white pistils on that girl I would have given her at least 2 more weeks to finish flowering before I chopped her.
Minimum 2 weeks maby more .
Question, why did you chopped her so early, was she unable to sustain herself?
Thanks.

Stay safe
