GDB Does Cosmic Lights & Other Photos

Hey GDB! That helmet head may still have a membrane holding the cotys together. Have you checked for that already?
Thanks HH. No I haven't checked for that. In fact, I wouldn't know what to look for. It is very tiny.

Should I just take a toothpick to it and see if I can get it to come free?

That might work, I usually spray it well with a water spritz. Let it sit for a minute or two, then I use a tweezer (half) and gently slide it from the center (of the leaves) toward the end. If there is a membrane, it should slide right off.

Thanks, I'll try that. No use letting it die a slow death when I can end it quickly and mercifully. :Rasta:

Fredwalk, you could not be more correct. And the seeds are still in control.

The second GDP I buried came out with its helmet still attached. I was able to remove it, but then the seed just sat there. It's neither growing or dying. Its been de-helmeted for more that five days and it wont uncurl its cotyledons. I've never experienced this before.

So I might end up going solo with the Cosmic Lights, the only "normal" seed of the bunch (and even it has some oddly shaped leaves).

If I end up growing her alone, I'll do it in my small tent (2x2) and just do more autos in the bigger tent. Geez!
Hey G, I've had that happen as well. Some I've saved, doing what you've done, and some just wither and die. We must trudge on my friend. Lol! So grateful to have beans to pop and flowers in the gardens! Stay stoned and stay stoned. :passitleft:

Lol, hopefully it’ll be a rescue story.
Thanks for that, HH. However, I tried to find and remove a membrane and rather that a rescue story it turned out to be an Executioners Tale. The GDP is history.

On a positive note, I have a Californian Snow auto seedling that was going through the same thing and I did manage to get that one to open up! :thumb:

Hi GDB! I've been exploring different GDP options and haven't pulled the trigger yet.

Would love to follow along to see how your seeds/genetics turn out.

Also, I echo HH's suggestion to spritz the helmet with water. The lube makes a big difference, and also ensures the helmet comes off gently. After spritzing, give it a couple of hours, I have often seen them slide right off. You can still take a toothpick to it if necessary, and the water will help with that operation too!

I'm not super experienced but I have done this a few times now. :thumb:

Oops. Sorry I missed this last update before I posted!! :rip::Namaste::green_heart:

Hello grow people. Just a quick update.

It looks like the Cosmic Lights will be my only photo plant. I'll be growing her in my 2x2 tent.

This is her day 8 (I start counting when a second set of fan leaves develops). She looks happy so far and has some wide, almost ovate leaves.

Hello grow gang.

Just a quick update of the Cosmic Lights.

She's on day 14. She stretched up a bit on a very thin stem and I had to support her with a vertical plant bracing device (a stick). I've been checking her root development and it has been slow. She'll be in the solo cup for a while.

Hello growers. This journal is only about 1 plant, so I'm thinking if it reaches 10 pages it'll only be because something went haywire. There's just not much to say and not much to show with a one-plant journal.

That being said, the Cosmic Lights at day 21 is still in the solo cup. Her root development has picked up a bit but not to the point where I want to up-pot her yet. I'm still giving her 2g of Mega Crop and watering her when she gets close to dry, about every 4-5 days.

How about a contest?

Who can name what is sitting behind the plant? :Rasta:

To be honest with you I think your lil gal can stand perfectly fine on her own. You’ve got a strong fan in your tent right? She’s probably nice and solid
I think she can too, Chef. I'm just getting stuck on sticks. :Rasta:

Looking good G! :yummy: I'll use whatever I can to help my girls. I'm for sure a silica user. Strong stems for (hopefully) big budz. :passitleft:
Stay stoned and stay stoneder.
