I mix a gallon of tap Lucas: 5ml micro, and 10ml grow. I've had big bottles of GH Flora for a couple/three years, I'll use it now. Also, I've added a small pinch of epsom salt but sometimes forget. Nothing else this grow so far.
One pint each every day. With the light up on the yo-yo, I sit and watch them grow. Have I mentioned how much I like them in this stretch phase? Probably, and I'm going to watch them grow some more, right now.
They have little tufty buds, all over their bodies. Ummmmmgh, they smell sexy

I like this stretch phase too, your grow looks so cool.

I'm just a little behind you time wise. Can you post some close ups of your buddage when you get a chance?

Want to see how I'm doing in comparison, I think the better lighting you have will become apparent soon.

Thanks Gator!

The upside down letters read: WITH A NEW AFTERWORD BY THE AUTHOR, on my copy of The Perfect Storm.
'smell cam' similar to a webcam that we could hookup to and share the olfactoric wealth.
One of my favorite aspects of the printed word is its requirement that a reader supply his own experience for his vicarious participation enjoyment.

If a reader don't know, he really needs to grow, but...
Wouldn't a tour of local growrooms be nice?

On the day I stroke out, everyone is invited to step over my dead body for a sniff & sample.
Adopt my cat while you're here, please.

Quick question for you. In nature, plants move their leaves [heliotropism] in order to gather maximum energy from the sun in what is called a 'leaf matrix' which involves the back leaves [away from the sun] moving to the front of the class in order to increase exposure. Do the leaves against the back of the cage try to wrap around to the front?

b

A rare occasion when i have the answer to a question.

I have large fan leaves growing at the front of the plant that have 8" stems going back to a branch at the rear of the pot. The branches themselves are trying to find light by growing up or to the side.

As I suspected, plants b smart, genetically speaking. FYI the 'stem' [it's not really a stem] that attaches a leaf to a stem is a 'petiole.'

Thanx, a pic or two of this phenomenon would be edjemkashunaul.

b

Learned a new word today.:thanks:

I will take some pics next time the come out of their house. Probably Saturday.

Vertical grow pictures make my day. There just aren't enough a-round to be found.
Got some for you TT, light is pulled up and out of the way

Do the leaves against the back of the cage try to wrap around to the front?
They try b, but the light is stationary. Front leaves have every advantage in their constant effort to shade their neighbors. They all turn towards the light as best they can. I'll prune many of the shaded losers later. And several of the greedy front fans for interferance. Bud leaves feed buds. Besides root's needs, there's less need for the power of fan leaves if I don't grow seed.
Oh well, if I got that wrong, maybe you'll correct me. :thanks:
Sweet. I'm late. Way late...
No Go, you're right on time. This grow is just now bursting out. Welcome
I see your still going in circles Mr Gator :)
They all look healthy and green, You always make me feel wasteful when I come by. You do so much with so little. Great! :thumb:
I'm really happy OMM, that you came by to flatter me.:thankyou:
Besides some well aimed geometry, my grow is about simplicity.
Definitely like the grow...
Thanks Herbs, this one is shaping nicely.

Yo-yo up:

And down. the ring weight helps match the yo yo's spring strength, and lets me fine tune the bulb angle. The string on the side hitches to the cord adjustably.

Thanks Gator! It is really interesting to see them grow wild and free.

Playing with LST, I got my plants a bit too bushy for their space. Going to be interesting to watch yours progress.

It's kinda hairy in there TT. Maybe a bit too wild and free
Shortly I'll raise their shirts and trim their knees
They seem to appreciate some breeze, getting up in

For two or three days, I've been leaving the light a little high, to encourage mainstem cola scaffolding. In 2 wks the stretch is done. The two weeks after that is the fill & swill, and then I count to ten.

Waiting. Trying to be patient, looking for justification. Grow some more? Are you growing still or just taunting me with sticky beckonings? Tomorrow is New Years Evening. Are you ready? Are you ready for the reapers knife, and desiccation. And vaporization for medication put me on vacation. TAD economy class relocation. Authorization? "We don need no stinkin badges, Blondie" 'We got buds of the kind'. Keep them where the sun don't shine, and don't lose your mind. Though it is terribly wasted it may come back some time, and that will be another lovely day to be alive. :)

I had much success with this style of growing. It was the only way I used my 400 and got good results. The ladies loved it. I think the overall light is better than the try to pound it on top of them light. It's more natural this way. :grinjoint:

Go Gator!

I'll be watching the trim technique. Will it be full blown runaway fiskars again?

Couldn't figure out how I wanted to trim mine yet so they are sliding by for another few days.

PG, what do you think about running three of these with a vertical bulb

windowbox2.jpg

up against the sides and back of the tent with 4-6 plants in each and 12/12 with 6-8" clones?

They are very low profile and narrow, so would leave a lot of room between plants and bulb, and the total volume should enough to make watering frequency pretty reasonable.

Is a vertical setup "wasted" on shorter plants, or do you think this style of 12/12 short perimeter grow would benefit as much as just letting the plants grow out?

Hello Gator, new here.Just registered today.Been coming here for a while to read.Started reading your journal from the begining this week end, finished this morning.Very good reading,I read all 685 post. :reading420magazine::thankyou:
