InterestingFor ph down I have been using my homebrewed kombucha. Similar to vinegar I suppose but with all sorts of goodies. The plants seem to like it. Still waiting for someone else to say they do too haha

I’ve just always PH’d mine to the recommended sweet spots because when I was first learning before I even started growing it was the first thing that was drilled into my brain. I have seen other gardens suffer tho with all kinds of different nutrient uptake issues because certain nutrients are taken up at different PH levels and they are different with soil and hydro. There are as Nivek stated other cheaper alternatives to the commercial PH up and down products that are relatively easy to find around the house. It does seem with growing there’s almost always something else to get. With the dehumidifier I thankfully get free prime shipping but can imagine on a unit that heavy it would be astronomical. With the humidity issues cheaper alternatives that help some but not a whole lot if the humidity is too high is heat (I put a small heater in the tent to get the temps up some which lowers the humidity in the air, also things called damp rids that are also helpful) those are the two things I have been using to keep mine at a not great but reasonable level.
Get yourself a decent pH pen and keep and get the pH down. If your running coco its very important to keep pH in the right range or it will create nutrient lock out.
I am curious what nutrient line are you using GG?
Not really familiar with any of those but make sure you reduce your feed strength using multiple bottles.
Correct, there is is a Coco Grow (for veg) and one Coco Bloom. Is there a ionic bloom?
I'll hang around if ya don't mind
Yup! I'm in straight coco, using Dyna-Gro nutrients. One quick question @Preston9mm (didn't see the answer at the first glance, perhaps missed it) but are you also growing in coco? Always a tad extra interesting with others that select to grow in this medium.
Can't help but to smile every time I read your signature. I got an extremely visual way of thinking...Hittin' more trees than blind Tarzan.
Oh snap!Yup! I'm in straight coco, using Dyna-Gro nutrients.
I've never used foliars (always been gun-shy), so I can't speak to that.Oh snap!
Then I salute you once more. Just to be sure I'm on your good side.
I've grown in coco since last year, but this is the first grow in coco that I'm taking names and kicking ass. Nothing left to chance and all problems/issues addressed. Already gotten a tremendous amount of support, encouragement, feedback, and advice from others following my grow. Again, amazed by this community...
Hope you can give a needing fella some input when needed... (Wait... that sounded dirty.... You know what I mean.... )
Perhaps I should take the opportunity and ask you about something now @Preston9mm :
It is regarding feeding for the Jack Herer that sprouted the first pair of real leaves only three days ago.
Jack is standing in coco and perlite. I've given it foliar-feed with Formulex several times a day, kept the humidity high and been very sparse with feeding it, only small amounts of nutrition (Formulex) at 1/4 strength. I have a "root stimulator" (GreenFuse Root) that is made for early stages and design to work well with Formulex. Both nutrients come from Growth Technologies. Now my question comes; Should I go for a good soak of the Jack today, adding the root stimulator? Or should I keep foliar-feeding it, and let the roots fight and grow to seek out nutrients? What is your experience for early stages?
And; @shottafire @candycane @GIjose @Modest grower @Killerbudz @DonkeyDick @bluenoserjoe @MrSauga , why do you think?
A penny for your thoughts!
I like that approach, a man after my own heart.I'll let the coco pros answer that question
I do start feeding my seedlings right from the start though. I use 1/4 strength for a week or 2, then titrate up to where i want em.

agree with @Preston9mm ,, completely,, tho i am in hempy, not coco,, there are many similarities tho,, tho this is not a medium issue
a fert issue,, and for sure, younguns need fert,,
i have just recently become successful at tending my younguns, i use 'mega crop, fert,, there is a whole thread on the stuff,, not trying to convert ya, just an fyi
i was consistently losing a week or even two of growth in my younguns because of poor feeding practices,, i have very much improved recently and now see the need, the plants show me,, see the need for early fert,, tho brand new sprouts will die immediately if they are ferted
start easy and behold how quickly the plants will want more,, startling really,, and so easy to see with mega crop
a link to the mega crop thread if you like,,
The Mega Crop Thread
no harm in trying... I remain skeptical and willing to be convinced.www.420magazine.com
