Ganesha's Tent

I feel it's better to have a continuous thread that I can post to with updates what's going on inside the tent.

It's a Lighthouse 100x 50 x 180 cm Tent but contrary to the Tardis it's smaller on the inside and it's powered by a Mars Hydro TS-1000 and RAM inline fan.

I do have a larger Homebox but this one fits nicely in the alcove.

I've just transplanted 2 photoperiods in their 10 Liter Smart Pots, They've been growing from seeds for 2 weeks under almost 20 hours lights since I haven't adjusted the timer from the autos yet, they are a bit pale but the green is coming into them and they look greener under normal lights. I had the light pretty low but only at 50%, I raised it to 45cm and have adjusted the timer to 18 hours..
The left one is Chanel + by Medicalseeds and the right one Blueberry free seed.

Well that's how quick it goes in the tent.. I've exchanged the two photoperiods for three autos from the greenhouse..
They are going outdoors to become much bigger plants, after experiencing two runs of autos on 20/4 in the tent I just can't with the photoperiods anymore It's like watching paint dry.
And these I can finish in the tent and see some bud starting to pop in a couple of weeks.

Right is Sunset Sherbert, middle Purple Couskush and left is Blue Monster, all Zamnesia seeds.
They've just been potted, they've grown three weeks in natural light cycle in a greenhouse and already had a quite thick and extensive root system.. interesting as those I starts from seeds in a tent, turn out big plants with a very small root system, they never use much of soil I provide them, but those are being pushed 20/4

Gonna brew up some feed, Hesi Root Complex and TNT Complex organic fertilisers.

Looks like they survived the night of light, and wow if you compare the top leaves of the bottom right plant they've grown quite a bit and it's not a full day later.
They will get their dark period in two hours so I hope they will be adjusted to the tent cycle soon.
The middle one might be struggling, I've just switched it with the right one and made sure none of them are under the centre of the light as that's a bit of an overload of energy and the little one was blasted with it all night, and I just put domes over them, humidity in tent is only 44% and temperature around 26°c. So might help out as well.

See that's what I mean with autos, this middle one is the bottom right one of the previous pictures 1 day later, I usually check in the morning and in the evening on the plants and every time you look you can visually confirm things have grown quite a bit, the top leaves are almost as long as the layer below, what a difference a day makes.
With the photoperiods I was popping my head in the morning and in the evening and in the morning again and was basically looking at the same plant, this is way more action packed.
I've got the light dimmed to 50% until I feel all three are comfortable.

Kinda want to start treating them as kitchen herbs and have a perpetual auto grow, last grow I've tried the leaves in salads and the buds in juices and I really dig the taste and fibre content and turns out they have plenty of beneficial nutrients and compounds in raw shape so why not, the cats love munching the leaves too.. which is a bit of a pain, as soon as they hear the zipper they come running up.. so for any maintenance I either need to lock them out or make a low growl all the time when handling the plants.

Lol cats
mine like digging in any fresh soil I put outside. Makes it tough to plant anything in the ground. Next day it's dug up, or dug by. I have to get them large first, grow in containers, or something to prevent them from being dug up. Oh the joys of having cats.

anyways..

Those auto's are looking good, even with the plant hungry felines. I hope I can get mine looking nice like that. Quite a lovely green color as far as I can tell.

Lol well the last pictures I'm underexposing in the cellphone which makes the green seem more normal.
And yeah the second picture is actually exactly that, me cellphone in hand opening tent and I just aimed and clicked a picture and already the plant was just inches away from death.
They've got grass to munch, but they prefer the weed and all other houseplants are just target practice.

One plant isn't looking great, it was already a bit curled up when I got it and the long light and transplant are an extra shot, might hold of feeding that for a while and just give it filtered ph'd water, there's nutrients in the new ground surrounding the roots. The other two seem to push quite nicely.

I gave them some flower feed and that's interfering with my leave tucking as a half hour later everything started pointing skywards.
So yeah I'll let them be, I'm curious about the result of the two bushy ones, I like that I want stout fat plants.
Left is the Purple Couskush that was funky but it's finally evolving a bit more normal. Middle is the Sunset Sherbert which is Girl Scout Cookies x Pink Panties x Ruderalis mix, and right Blue Monster which is Cheese x Blueberry x ruderalis and I hope will live up to its name.

I've also sneakily increased the light cycle the past 2 days instead of 20/4 I just dim the light for 4 hours to a notch below half strength, so far they haven't minded at all.
So they have been vegged for two weeks on natural light cycle, then 2 weeks on 20 hours and now 24hrs.. probably not the way to do it, as maybe vegging for 24hrs and then dialling back a bit for flowering is more sensible.
Although they did form an impressive root system in those two weeks and a bit of less than 20hrs light, so maybe it is the way to go and from now on just gogogo budding time and throw all the energy at them? I'll find out soon enough.

Cleared the wooden box and big fan out and put in a little one again and spaced the plants out more.
The one that was crumpled from the beginning is on the right now, and has caught up in height to the others but is way less bushy.

The feed from last week might have been too hot, as some yellow tips are developing so I flushed and well now they are still recovering from that.

I'm wondering should I put them on a rotating schedule so each gets a full day under the center of the light?
I keep the light pretty high at 45cm of the top as it gets quite hot under there, but now only one is really under it, and it drops off a lot at the sides, but on the other hand combined with the small narrow tent I feel coverage is adequate.

It's not like last time the buds in the corners of the tent were lesser, so maybe should just not think about it.. but on the other hand giving each full light and a bit of rest, unless they don't like being moved around much as they have to reorientate their leave a bit all the time. hmm

I pretty much always rotate and turn my plants when they are smaller but not so much when they get larger and start filling the tent up.

45cm doesn’t seem extraordinarily high for the light and is probably a healthy height for the girls.
