GaBoy's 2017 Outdoor Adventures

Good afternoon everyone!

I was outside with the ladies and thought I'd share some pics. Thought they were pretty photogenic today .

TS1 - Just some LST and leaf bending. Might end up being more of a TUT Style as demonstrated by L.A. Himself, the inventor of Fluxing. Just trying to get as much light penetration as possible without removing and large fan leaves.

Bordello - Standing tall and proud even though I'm going to need her to stay shorter...ish lol. Looking good though! I really don't want to move her from the .5 gallon pot until time to put her in the ground outside. Might do some root trimming. To be continued...
3.jpg

GDP. - interesting this one but I have all the faith. Just need those side shoots to start doing something. Might FIM it. Also, to be continued lol...

Baby Bordello - So far responding well to the Roots Organics x Kellogg Patio Plus mix. Overall I'm happy

Interested to see how all of this pans out. Up in the N end of the state where I'm at it can be into April before we're frost free so I focus on indoors. I'd love to stick a few on the front porch over the summer....one day.
Hoping to see great things!

Hey Gaboy, I have been reading your thread and i think what you have done so far is impressive. I am also here in Ga and my girls are about a month behind yours. Keep up the good work. I just can't believe your molasses in soil is working. I have read where not to do this and so far you have proved that theory wrong lol. Oh i will try that coconut/honey mixture as well. I would love to share ideas one day. Nothing like the sun.

Welcome Gbauto! Great to have another GA grower here, was starting to feel lonely! Yea, if your around where I think you are, it can be a bit brutal weather wise. Did you get all that snow and ice about a week ago? I just barely missed it. Anyway, going to go check out your grow and what you've been up to! Stick around!! .

Welcome BlackVader!!! Another GA Grower, awesome!!!! Mine actually should have been a month behind as well but I got antsy lol. Why did they say NOT to use molasses?! Been doing it for about 3 years now. As long as it's unsulfured blackstrap molasses and you have soil with living microbes, its great stuff! I wouldn't use it in a hydro system or anything like that though. As far as the CannaHoney, PLEASE DO! It's a knock out lol

So this is my second time doing a girl so as you can understand I am trying to absorb as much information as possible so I saw somewhere where they mention if you're going to use soil then you will not use molasses because their sugars will stop the natural occurrences in the soil from happening and for some reason they said that was mad so I thought it was a shock when I saw yours saying that you use it all the time. I'm doing auto flowers this time around so i don't have to worry about the time. I did both last season and that was stressful. I'm using 10 gallon fabric pots and it was wonderful. Very easy to move. Oh by the way i had a seed that actually was a twin. Trippy. It had 2 tails out of the seed. Both grew separately but one died. It was the runt. The other is finally making progress but it too is truly stunted in comparison.

Oh no my friend, those are absolute lies! Lol if you have a good, living soil, or use any mycorrhizae, the molasses actually feeds the beneficial bacteria in the soil which feed your plant. It gives them a super boost, and can be used if your plants are suffering nutrient lock-out. What you don't want is a build up of salts in your soil, that's bad. A healthy dose of Organics sugars is always good though, plants feed on sugars. Especially during flowering. Give it a shot!

As far as the seeds with twins, that's pretty dope. Never heard of that one before. I did however have a plant that shot out double growth from all points, and 3 leaves at a time instead of 2 lol. Let me find a pic...

See!!! Three leaves at a time..

Double side shoots lol smh

You gotta start a journal man! It's not too late!!! You and Gbauto!

Sub'd and caught up :)

GDP Seedling, 4 days old. Stretching for the light a bit, but that's ok because she will be moving outside, and I want to take clones from the lower side branches. Hopefully as an almost pure indica, it will remain rather short in stature.

I love the GDP logo. Nicely done :)

The theory is you want your mycorrhizal forming fungi to form a bond with the roots so they extract the sugars created in your cannabis leaves in exchange for transporting those hard to reach micronutrients to the roots. Those fungi love their sugar. They send out long strands of mycellia looking for sugars. When the roots feed them a taste of sugar, horny Glomus intraradices will do almost anything to get some.

What happens when you feed sugars to the fungi? They multiply in number, but when the fungi feed off the sugars you add to the soil, they don't need to form mycorrhizal relationships with the roots. They are unmarried fungi. They don't know about the sugar the plant roots offer. It's like the old saying "Why buy the cow when the milk is free?" Good for the single fungi, but as a farmer, you want your daughters in mycorrhizal relationships. The fungi bring them more treats than unattached farmer's daughters.

p.s. Under this theory, IMO it makes sense to add molasses in a living soil or molasses while brewing a mycorrhizal tea - Once per grow.

Definitely strange, weather wise-0 deg and snowed in around New Years and then almost 70 deg warmer a week later. I'm just switching my annual indoor grow so we'll see if the odds are in my favor on a few of the bag seeds. Looking forward to see how my Aurora Indica's will end up. I end up using most to make cannacaps for my pain management-it's been very helpful.

Youve got skills Ga. I like the Peroxide because I dont know how or why? Pretty cool going from cutting to soil and no r.wool with the clones. Molasses in the mix, I heard only on flower? Another reason Im staying with FF cause I need it simple still.
I remember the Vice show with the ATL grower moving to Oregon he uses hot pepper spray for bugs.
My next tent runs very soon. Maybe today! Almost done cleaning it. It was nice to get in there and move lights and situate some yesterday.
The laundry room veg grow for the spring yard grow is getting closer!!!! Im starting to think where their going this year.
As far as seeds, youll get some back.
Great day!!

Welcome Radogast! Great to have you! How are things in middle earth? Glad to have you along! I also forgot to mention, I foliage feed with molasses about once every 2-3 weeks as well!

The 5 PM forecast for Middle Earth is ...

mild defoliation in Fanghorn Forest causing intermittent green showers in the Gap of Rohan and parts of Gondor.

You are feeding that often already? Oh wow i thought that would be just once. Well if it is working for you then i will take note of that. How about milk? I have seen that being used as well. I am all about being more organic with this grow. Just learning the ropes with the small details. Obtw last summer did you have issues with caterpillars with your outdoor grow? I had an infestation. Talk about frustration.

I'm in ne fl so maybe we have similar weather. I'm planning on using lite soil mix with added perlite in 3 or 5 gal pots. Bought advanced nutrition ph perfect gro/micro/bloom for nutrients. Not sure when to start as I have no way to start them indoors. Any advice. Thanks
I am currently growing 3 autos now but that is indoors/outdoors depending on the weather. I used those nutes last season and completely outdoors but going just soil and sun/leds this season to get a better taste. If u have them outdoors be careful of the drops in temp especially after watering. If u can greenhouse them you should be ok.

Go Falcons!!!
