Myself I always do the 12/12 thing, not saying it's rite but it works, and still give plants max lite for the transition. Your bugs are gnats? If they are mites remember you'll have to do a spray twice min. Looking great tho overall. Ill peek back later.

Guys, just wondering if it is safe to combine the Gnatrol (organic insectiside) with my humboldt nutrients. Its about time to feed my girlies but dont wanna mess em up. I wouldn't think it would be I'm stayin on the cautious side. I think I'll foliar feed tonight and water with nutes and the gnatrol if i find out it is safe. Lemme know if you guys wanna see pics or not, cuz i know the veg stage isnt the most exciting part of the process but Ill be glad to post some if you dudes are interested.....

If that gnatrol is the stuff that you add into your reservoir to control gnats it made my friends plants leaves curl up and look like it was going through CO2 burn or something. I havent had a chance to read your whole journal yet but I saw where you were asking about it on pits thread. Hope that little tidbit of info helps... I know it took him months too figure out that it was that stuff that was doing it, he thought it was PH or nutes or something but it was actually that stuff. He used CNS 17 though, not sure what your using. Peace. Nice journal man!

Ur plants look good bro. I like the setup, can't wait to see them bud. Mine sprouted early Oct. I plan on switching to 12/12 around Dec. 1st. or so.

yea i add it to each gallon of water but it had no negative effects on the plants so far except for killin the damn gnats. just wondering if its safe to mix that shit with nutrients, its all organic so i wouldnt see why not.

zinc deficiency can cause twisting leaves you must have straightened it out though if it went away.

Yes I do. My set up is a 3x3 space with 5 plants a 400 watt mh. Placed about 18" above my babies. No PH meter no temp. gage and I'm using {MG} $$$$ is kinda tight so I work with what I got. I got blueprints for a new layout but that cost $$$$$. I got pics posted go check-em out bro...

as far as i know any pest control is safe to use with any nutes. certain plants are sensitive to certain things so that is where you will get an issue, if pest control with water doesnt hurt your plants i dont think pest control and nutes will hurt them... if you are really worried look on your nutes or pest control bottle and call the support number and ask. then give them a 1/2 or 1/4 strength dose first time and make sure plants are ok.

I dont have a good question on the pest control additives,,,knock on hemp Ive not crossed that bridge. I know some things but not that one.

What I woud watch out for is the EC or PPM effect the insecticide has on your solution. If it effects this greatly you may mix a hot solution for your plants. So when it comes time to do a mix back off the nutes a bit and always check your PPM.


If you are having a lot of gnat issues in soil try covering the top 2 inches of your soil with perlite and perhaps DE "diamaticus earth". This will keep the top layer dry and prevent those little bastardos from wanting to come hang out in your soil. The DE will scratch and kill just about any exoskeletal insect. Its a great physical barrier and cheap too.

Hey stoobie, just stopping by..I dont really know about mixing the bug repelant w\ nutes (sounds ify to be honest.) Oh and foliar feeding is when you feed the plants through the leafs. I suggest if you do folisr feed, get DutchMasters Penetrator. Its the most effective wetting agent available. I only foliar feed Liquid Light w\ Penetrator cause it helps boost hte photsynthesis process and really give the plants a jump start on processing the light. but the reason I suggest using the penetrator is it opens up the stomata On the leaf surface both on top and bottom. This allows your nnutes or foliar spray to penetrate them ALOT more that if you were to just the spray by itself. Just a suggstion though.

thx for the info, ill have to get some Liquid Light Penetrator. I've heard of it, but I was gonna just stick with my Humboldt Nutrient Line. But if you swear by it ill take your word. BTW- i know what foliar feeding is lol. I was just telling other ppl reading my journal if they dont know what it is, check into it because it is very beneficial.

hey stoob,

just found you buddy. . . how big is the screen? you said (10) 5 gal pots right? it looks to me like you still have some veg time left. . . IMO, you should train your plants under the screen until it is pretty full, and it looks like yours is just getting to the screen. . . if you were at about 1 plant per sq. ft. then i would say go to flower soon, but it looks like you have way less plant count per sq ft to me than that.

if you want to see what that method will look like, take a peep at my current grow in my sig, I have a 10 sq ft scrog going that should give you an idea.

looking great though I'll have to go read the first pages when I get a chance.

I agree with Wheelo, but you def. are looking good. just takes patience to get thru the veg, I had two growing in veg for around 2 or 3 months, but thats cause I wanted to sex them and then veg back for another 2 months, but yeah time crawls in veg time.

Just keep tucking those main stems down under the screen till you have no light almost coming to the bottom

yea makes perfect sense guys thanks for the input. but when i start flowering the plants will almost double if not more than double in size.... that wont overfill the screen if I veg for like 2-3 more weeks??
