FutRfarmers First Grow With QB's & Doc's High Brix

My Indicas bubblegum and bubba Kush I don’t do anything usually, as they stay short. I did however do some early topping of my bubbakush this round to bush her out, and I vegged her in the one gal pot for 10 weeks till she was big (3 ft tall). I wanted to get her tall and bushy so when I transplanted to the 15g pot, I could use the whole tomato cage for support. She is huge now at 16 days post flip. There’s a cage in there somewhere.

This golden pineapple I topped a few times in veg, then cut everything off below 5-6 nodes on every spouting top when I flipped her. She stretched, then I tied all the tops down a week ago, and she filled right in with many bud sites.

This Headband OG stretches a lot in early bloom. She got topped many times in veg, and again stripped everything below 5-6 nodes on flip day. I use what I strip off as my clones, as I like to keep my good ones going. After the main stretch there were 9 dominant tops I tied down to the top cage ring in a whorl, again to control height, as my ceiling is only 7’4”. This tech I’m trying on her is new to me. I’m trying even out the canopy under the light.

I do all of this because I’ve grown these plants for a while and know their tendencies.

To help you figure you own restrictions, raise your light as high as it will go. Measure from the top of your plant to the light, deduct 24-30 inches (the safe distance to keep between the plant and the light), whatever number you come up with is how much more the plant can grow before it’s too close to the light. Remember that most plants will Double in size when in bloom, so you have to plan accordingly. Tools in your toolbox are topping in veg, not bloom, super cropping, etc. or just bending tops over and tie to a support. The idea is to not burn the tops by being to close to the lights.

This grow will teach you all this stuff, just remember, there’s always a way out if you miscalculate. We are here to pick you up if you fall. We all have fallen quite a few time to get to where we are at!
:Namaste: you have all been more then amazing!! Love this community and people, I'm taking notes and absolutely am learning a lot. those plants are "GOALS" for my next round, dopey looking great brother! I'm realizing I think I should grow one strain at a time until I learn that strain. I do want to grow 4 at a time I think I'll be building a actual room with a heat pump to control heat-AC and a dehumidifier. This grow is absolutely a great learning experience and I'm loving it

girls felt light so looks like a straight water and a GE away from up pot. Question is this. My veg light is a 4000k QB V2. Flower is 2 larger QB 3000k. That's my take on veg vs flower with aQB. can veg be the time, meaning can I up pot to the 10's do I keep the light cycle at 18/6 of another week under the 3000k?

Amazing stuff Dopy! Thanks for sharing! :high-five:

Hey Farmer! Lights on time must be the same all throughout the grow, just want to make sure you know that! So if lights on in veg is 6pm then lights on in bloom has got to also be 6pm, got it? I think your gonna want to veg for another 2-4 weeks after up can, ok? You want to fill in that 5x5 the best you can keeping in mind any height restrictions you may have. @DopyLemontree. May be able to speak to you light question but I'm also tagging @Graytail as he knows lots about lights.

Thanks brother! I didn't know that, I did plan on having lights on at 7 pm also in flower as that's about the time every night I'm done eating and such after work. so flower lights off will be 7 am, I wake up at 4 am. so it's great I can do what i need to before everyone is awake. I'm glad yo told me that will store that in my notes for sure

Hey there, ok... so since they will be in the flower tent after transplant, I would just use your flower lights. That’ll get em used to that spectrum and intensity of the lights. They’ll be ready to rock by the time you flip. I’m using 5000k for veg and 4000k for flower, plus I added some supplemental lighting as well. But I think your spectrums are in a good range as well, I’m intrigued to see how the plants do with the slightly different light spectrum that You're running.

also I've had a spike in humidity the last week suddenly in the mid 70's. plants seem to like it but could this be in anyway tied to them drinking every other day?

Yes, you want to keep them on 18/6 after you move them to the flower tent, just to make sure the space will fill out, but that’s also if you transplanted in the couple weeks preceding it. If the plants are already at the veg size you need them to be, you can flip them immediately.

Remember, they get anywhere from double to triple the veg size in bloom.

Thanks Daj, I'm going for it. I'll just keep the lights high since they will be on for 18, little nervous about heat, guess I'll set up the tent and get it dialed in before up pot

Yes sir, I’m glad I put a dimmer on both my panels. All the way up, the big panel would get pretty darn warm. But if I turned it down just a bit... it wasn’t near as hot but the lights are still plenty bright.
The small Veg panel can be turned all the way up, it doesn't get very warm.
absolutely Brother! I have dim switches on both the larger panels, small veg is a 135w so I run it full bore,

if this works I'm thinking this for the tent

Seems a little cheap. I'd try to find some reviews but the problem with that is you'll always find bad reviews. For 35 bones it may be worth a shot. If you do get it, make sure to cover the led display so you don't have any light in your tent (always keep that in mind, even a power strip light could F up your grow) and let us know how it works. It's nice that you can hook up a hose to drain.

Not likely, that is likely due to them outgrowing their container. Normally, if there is alot of humidity in the air, plants will not drink as much. When its dry, sometimes they drink too much.

Plants are looking great Futr.

I'm thinking your right brother! humidity was at 40% this morning , pots are full of feathers, although rain is also over . I'll give them the straight water today 1 more Brix spray and a GE then up pot, I'm sure they will be drinking everyday by then.
