with that said, yea i dont think im aiming for that perfect harvest right now haha, im still in experiment mode. i would be more than happy to harvest 3 scraggly plants than nothing........

your garden is pure inspiration, and the LA con.... cant wait to get my hands on this and well as the brainstorm. i had a gram of that not too long ago. wow...... i thought bluedream gave me the most euphoric..... brainstorm smashed bd. winwin.....

is there a plant that has ZERO smell while in its veg state even with the nitro feedings? i planned to keep it in veg stage for a while....... like im talkin about a year or so and maybe when i move out or sumn ill take it with me and flower the sucker :ganjamon::ganjamon:

Thanks bro, well I didnt build the reflectors but if you mean the new light set up I could post some close-ups of the assembly. Its real easy to set up and they showed me how at the hydro shop, super chill staff there. Its just a few screws, and you have to connect 3 wires, 2 power, 1 ground. And the reflector was just as easy, came with all the hardware just had to supply your own mounting string/chain whatever. The nice thing about these 125W cfl's is that you don't need a ballast, as with HID's. Thats really what sold me on these lights, plus how efficient they are in a horizontal reflector.

Also, regarding the bagseed genetics, is it even possible to clone / put a plant back to veg after its already flowering, or after harvest , anyone know??? Hmmm going to be asking about this in my journal but that just got me thinking about cloning.... just for fun. Okay time for a coffee then to update my own journal. :woohoo:

quick UPDATE:

no pictures at the moment, but ima post some up in the morning since i dont goto clean no damn carpets tomorrow whew.......

i just nuted them. i dont know if its too early or not. im thinking not because the way they reacted to the first dose (btw im still using those damn MG nutes) i thinkn ima go check out a hydro shop today or sumn and get some better nutes...... i added appx 1 tsp to 1 gal of 7.3 city tap (kitchen tap)
i liked the way the water comes out this faucet, all bubbly so i thought eh it looks like its oxygenizing or however u say that.......

anyways my dumbass forgot to check runoff but i did check the ph level with that 1tsp added, and it read 6.9

i raised the lights to about 5inches away from my girls cos i wana see if they increase in height at all.... i think a little stretch wont hurt, besides i got room for it! :ganjamon:

oh heres a funny fact:

its hella corny but ill just tell whoevers followin this damn journal a little somethin about myself thats related to MMJ of course......

so first is, One of the reasons i wanted to start growing is i wanted to get my mom high. i wana get her high or medicated whatever you guys wana call it off some edibles since i think tryna make my mom smoke a bowl is kinda eh....... she takes medication for seizures and i believe its called epilepsy? she takes it twice a day and my goals to just have her take 1 a day and hopefully none at all....... it really fucks with her immune system and shit is all bad..... i just want her to chill when she gets h ome from work and not take that damn pill before she goes to bed..... cos you recuperate in your sleep right? and that pill just fucks things up.... theres my funny fact. (they wont all be funny btw... just goin with my 420 name)

Hey Funny, looks like you were up late tending to the ladies last night, good on ya! I think it's not too early for nutes, I started using mine at 1/4 strengh during the 1st week of veg for half of my plants, 2nd week for the other half, to experiment with it. To be honest I didn't record which ones got it, but they all seem to be healthy so I think 1/4 strength during the 1st-2nd week veg is good. But for sure tap water has enough nutes to get the seed through the first few weeks.

Never used MG though, but like they say just follow the ferts directions is your safest bet. I have a ph tester but have been very lazy with doing anything, the tap water here comes out at 6.5ish which is okay. I would love to have some distilled water but tap water is free!

I'd say raising the lights just a bit is fine, check this link out I was diggin last night: YOR - Lighting Resource , it talks about the optimal light position. Makes sense that you don't want it too close to keep the light levels even throughout canopy.

And man, I think that is a totally noble reason to grow, the best MMJ is your own! I think that the only way these laws are ever going to be changed is by taking this into our own hands until the gov't finally wakes up. I hope you harvest huge quality meds for baking, so much better for the body than chemicals...

Last night I was checking out a lot of CFL grows using small setups like ours and was hella stoked to see a few people harvesting close to 2 OZ's off 3x 30W CFL's after spending only $80!!! Sky's the limit! :thumb:

i just took a look at my ladies, and im not sure how they took the nutes i watered with last night...... some started yellowing at the tips but no significant markings at all.....

i had a few spots from previous incidents like watering and splashing some on the leaves.... and there happened to be molasses on it..... if anything this should just be a slight case of nute burn..... right? as of today i think im going to visit a hydro shop today and just get 2 simple nutes. one for veg and one for flower. i dont wana be brewin no tea yknow?

the website is a come-uP!! im learning as we speak foreal good lookin Grow!

Dude good vibes heading up the coast to BC from SoCal! It's cloudy here but we're used to that on the wet-coast and I can still see the beautiful mountains from my windows so its all good :)

As for the yellowing leaf tips check out this linky has some useful nute issues there. I think yellowing is a sign of under-nutes, while leaf tips appearing burnt is over-nutes. Do you have any books on growing cause they usually have a chart similar. If not I can hook ya up via a PM with some good reading. What leaves are turning yellow, newer ones, bottom ones, all of them?

Hydro shops are where its at - I dunno about how it works down in SoCal, but make sure you don't mention what your growing, just kinda hint at it haha. I have had some really funny conversations where its clear we both know what each other means but neither says it exactly. I commonly say I'm growing "Chili Peppers" and would like really "Potent" spicy peppers :) But it's just funny cause our hydro shop has a big sign inside saying "DO NOT MENTION ILLEGAL PLANTS" then another "IF YOU ARE A MEDICAL GROWER BE VERY DISCRETE" :surf:

For $30 you can probably get at least the veg solution, mine were $25 for each bottle in the pic I posted. So $50 / veg stage and $50 for bloom, plus the aussie tonic is used throughout. If they have aussie tonic or something similer, ask about it, works great for me. Its a "Liquid Propagation Fertilizer". Most nutes have an A/B solution for veg/flower, you just mix A, wait 5 min, mix B, wait 5 mins make sure you don't ever put them both in at the same time...

Good luck bro, and when it comes to dro shops you can never be too discrete. I am a bit paranoid and always try to take a different route there / back, sometimes I'll drive in random patterns and stop by other stores on the way back. Pay in cash always. And definitely bring the stuff inside in black bags or something where the neighbors won't see what u got. LOL. But I think small timers like us don't have much to worry about.

Scroll down to the MG section it kinda clears up all the rumors you hear about the stuff.

Oh yeah and I made a mistake it was actually 120W of CFL for the almost 2oz. DFW-Guy's journal is the one I was referring to, if you missed this one it should be made required reading for first timers like us!
 
UPDATE:

ok so Growheart good lookin on that MG nute guide. i think i now know why i have those damn spots..... i should just do a flush sometime today but pour out the runoff, which i usually do..... but when its hot i leave it there.....

but it still confuses me whether i was feeding it enough or overdoin the damn thing but its definately nitrogen...... right? hahaha im so lazy right now smoked some purps earlier geeeez :lot-o-toke:

im bouta be on my way to the hydro shop right now and my budget is around $30...... so i goto see what i can get.......

btw should i flush now with some tap or wait til later tonight.... i usually water early in the morning before the lights come on or late at night when the lights go off is this about to ruin my crops??

any input =/ thanks yall..... btw someone recd botanicare for like 14 a quart of somethin for some veg nutes..... i might go this direction. well see. til then :peacetwo:

Hey Funnystyle I did my cost rundown today and added everything up, and realized this was wrong - the nutes were $25 for veg, $25 for flower so half what I wrote. My bad homie.

The group is looking nice and healthy, super bushy too are you going to LST them soon ? I am not sure about those leaf burns, did not seem to have very many nute problems during my veg as I took solid advice from the hydro shop. But found this awesome link, in the 'how to grow' section of 420mag: Plant Abuse Chart its so good that its in my sig now! covers everything with pics too.

Never switched nutes, but what I would do is to flush completely (use 3x pot size of water and pour it all through, over a tub is a good idea), so if your pot size is 1 gal use 3 gal water per plant. That will flush out all the built up nutes. Then probably you should wait until the plant needs water again, and add the new nutes.
