Fun In The Sun 2016 - Tiger - Ape - Pitbull - Gorilla & More - Run Wild

Ya eh Bapple, same words brotha....:thumb: Mornin Major. Have your fab. five "hooked up' yet pal?

Really hard to say. With the crap weather we've had recently they look pretty dormant. No problems I can see, but not a lot of anything atm. :high-five:

Major....you read this....thanks for the link Gov....it was an interesting read. i'm on the fence with this one...if it was me...dunno. Not sure i would want the world knowing EVERYTHING about me, ...but, ...but. :hmmmm:

I did read it and I understand their position. I am registered but this will likely be the last year I do so. It costs me too much just as a hobby and now that it is legal I can grow more than I need without the medical license. It will make it more difficult for sure, but that extra $400 per year doesn't pay for itself.

Wow those are 100 gallons? I have a buddy who was saying he was planting into 600 gallon pots :O

Anyway just stopping in to sub
Actually those are 200gallon pots but they did have 3 or 4 100 gallon pots for a few test strains.
Oh and for the record, your buddy will be using 3 yards of soil to fill those 600 gallon pots, hope he is buying in bulk because it cost me 200 bucks to fill my one pot.

Hello OlderGrower :ciao:

I hope we get to see photos of that forest growing up - only up to a couple of weeks before harvest though; I'd avoid the area around trimming time. :battingeyelashes:

Spectacular photo; subjects and background makes one want to break into a rousing rendition of America the Beautiful.:high-five:

+reps

You have to be kidding me, I most definitely want to be there when they trim, since I should be harvesting some of my plants around the same time they will be harvesting theirs, I do not mind helping others who are willing to help me. The have already offered to help me with my harvest. Something tells me I will be having a little bud to trim this fall ;)
Iam in the same boat as Major Pita, I can legally grow way more then I could possibly ever use even just growing the legal limit for recreational. Life is good in a legal state, wish everyone lived in a legal state.

As for the other strains I will have to actually pay attention next weekend when I see them again, they are always looking for big yielders which are easy to grow, so that is why they have a whole row of miscellaneous strains. Strains friends have given them to try or strains that they have read about that they believe would be profitable. If my memory serves me correctly one of them was Sour Diesel but like I said we talked about so many different things, strains were not on the top of my list on what I wanted to pay attention to

If you can do it without registering I say go for it :thumb:

I second that advice...... If it's legal why would one register?

People who choose to buy big pharma poison privately don't have to register with anyone. If it's not subsidised, insisting on knowing where growers and users are (via registration) sets off all my conspiracy theory buttons.

The tide is turning fast in the USA re ending prohibition and I would bet my last dollar that Big Pharma execs are already having meetings in darkened rooms trying to figure out how to to push for legislation to push out hobby growers and carve the whole cannabis market out between themselves.

mutter mutter.....rant over

The laws here are currently a moving target. Until recently, you had to have a medical card to buy extracts, edibles and concentrates. Not really a concern for me. But the other reason is the number of plants allowed. Without going medical we are only allowed 4 plants per residence (not per person). That doesn't let you play with genetics or cull weak starters. Really dumb.

It would all make better sense to me if any individual or company growing more than 4 plants had to register (on the assumption they are growing for profit) that would make me feel the legislation is to protect cannabis consumers. The way the different laws in the different states are stacked right now, I just feel it's all about protecting the interests of big business and all their buddies, for not too far in the future when it's 'legal' everywhere.

Update (Week 15 of Veg)

Well, this may not be the easiest way to grow, but it is certainly the most boring. :cheesygrinsmiley: With our cool weather, and rain, I haven't even needed to water them yet. Growth has been slow, but expected. I think they are still getting used to the change in their environment and all plants were topped heavily prior to the move. They each added about 1"-2" last week, although it is difficult to tell with them being beaten down by all the rain and wind. We had some spare tomato cages so I added them to a few. I don't know if they will help me train or support them down the road, but I figure they won't hurt anything.

The one surprise is with both Liberty Haze plants. They both turned purple in places. They are the only plants to do this. Rather than 'P' or some other deficiency, I'm pretty sure it is from the chilly nights we've been having. I haven't grown these before so I wasn't expecting them to turn like this. I love their shape so if I can pull some purple buds off them this fall, so much the better.

Today looks like spring finally made it. Rain is unlikely and we should climb back into the 70's with 80+ by Memorial Day. :yahoo: Since things are on autopilot (nothing to time, measure, mix, or PH) I can't think of anything to tell you, so I'll dump some pictures from yesterday. First up, are a couple of examples of the purple I'm seeing in LH. It is even more pronounced this morning. Please let me know if you think it might be something other than the cold.

These are overviews of the two gardens so you can see how the plants compare to each other for size and shape.
GASS is on the left and the smaller of the two LH is to the right. (irises and poppies in the foreground / "hop house" in back)

I did some field mowing yesterday. I'm going to collect some of the grass and use it as mulch around the pots to help keep the weeds down. It might help future photos too. I will be spraying within a week just as a preventative measure. I hope to keep mites on the defensive this time.

That's all for this update. Have a great week and KIG!

grow that freezer stash of seeds....says Bapple the conspiracy theorist :ganjamon::reading420magazine::battingeyelashes:

That is my plan and I am doing regular/non feminized. I dunno? just having fun really and it cannot hurt.

My legal limit is 6 with only 3 in flower. (not that I have room for more) But. Yeah, not a-lot of room for experimentation or anything.

I am not so good at legal speak but I have wondered about the per residence/per person thing... In one particular state law I have read:

adults 21 years of age or older to cultivate no more than six plants (with three or fewer mature at any one time) in one's primary residence without penalty

And Then...

all persons residing within a single house or single rental unit may not grow more than twelve cannabis plants, with six or fewer being mature, flowering plants.

even I can understand that, that is a first.

This stuff intrigues me, Sorry Maj. I was just reading norml stuff before i came out to play. AnyWho. I look forward to your fun in the sun.:allgood:

lol...I've had nice, long, detailed updates in the window and just needed to click "post" but closed the window instead. Thank god for auto-save.

They might seem slow, but I'm sure there's plenty going on down there. They all look good and healthy, so I bet when the temps climb just a little bit they'll start kicking.

The purple most likely is the night temps, but it IS the anthocyanins so not deficiency or discoloration...cool.

Yeah - the slow growth is no surprise. There is a lot for the roots to fill and with temps running 40 - 60, I didn't expect much, especially with every node being pinched.

Yeah this gray blah crud can clear up any time lol. Day temps aren't bad but my OG Kush is flowering even with a booster light.

Cool to see that purple on the LH. Gonna try an indoor run with that soon. :)
Sorry to hear your Kush started to bloom. Hopefully it turns around quick.
The only one I am worried about is the Ace of Spades. Being a year old, covered in pre-flowers, and having veg'd under 18/6, I figured it could easily flip with this natural light period.

Lots of green. Nice!

The purple leaf looks pretty. Question?......What else could cause it besides cold?

Cheers Major.

Some phosphorous deficiencies cause purplish splotches, but the ones I've seen don't look healthy. These look exactly like the Pitbulls I grew last year, but they went purple when you'd expect - in the fall.
