Freedom Of Seeds Tabletop Grow In Carmen's Kitchen

Look what I found when I was picking thyme for my dinner! At first I discarded it and then something made me think twice about it. I used my insect identification app to identify this praying mantid egg casing! Google told me to put it into a glass jar with a lid that has holes in it. It takes 4 to 6 weeks for the mantids to hatch and they require warmth to achieve that. Isn't this wonderful!

I harvested the main cola today. There were still a few white pistils and a lot of the trichomes still look clear to me, but this chap on the right made me give it the chop. It looks to me like an immature nanner and I thought rather than chance an accidental pollination by an unseen nanner, it was well enough within the harvest window to chop. It'll be a nice daytime high!

In my experience it is not that uncommon to find a nanner or two late in flower and I wondered if I would see any because I left the light at 1000 ppfd and 20/4 until the end. I'm going to revert to my DLI measurements going forward. I got good results from my DLI grow and saved electricity!

Now that the inside leg of my grow is complete, my focus will be on the two outside plants. I'm tempted to put carhooks on the young un to open it up. It's very compact. It's raining today so I will wait a bit and then go do some training :)

Good finding Carm! Yeah they come at the end sometimes. Those buds have the most beautiful colors!
They do right.
Wow Carmen She's so gorgeous😍. Nice catch on the nanners. You see them from time to time in late flower. Now for the outdoor finales! Rain, rain, Go away...
Thanks Gee man! I've had late term nanners before, so it doesn't freak me out. I'm surprised at my outdoor plants though, really taking their time. I'd have hated it if they'd caught pollen. Check em out! I am amazed by the chunky pistils.

Here is the first Somango auto, which is actually 76 days old. I reckon it has a couple of weeks to go, so may make 90!

Weekly Update: Week 11 / Week 8

Congrats on the first bit of the inside harvest! Looks amazing but I'm sure some of that is your photography skills. :thumb:

Hang on a second...there's the whole rest of the plant.
Thanks! Nope, that's the whole plant down now. I started with the side branches, leaving only the main cola which came down yesterday.

Oh I must have missed that! :welldone:
I just realized I didn't report on it as such. The side branches were ready earlier than the main and I took them down a few days before the main. You are totally forgiven

Hi and happy Thursday,

My second somango auto with the cute little puff balls will be ready sooner than the first one with the majestic main cola. Take a look and compare the maturity of the flowers.

Anyone want to guess how long before each is in the harvest window?

and a couple of bonus shots.

Absolutely gorgeous garden Carmen, brilliant job 👏

Highya Carmen,

Both Somango's look very nice! One is full of pistils, probably 3 weeks, and the other is looking sooner. I'm with StoneOtter in that on a good day, I have no idea how much time is left!
Love the lily shot! Most flowers have such a pristine beauty! Great way to brighten your (and my) day!! Have you thought about growing photoperiod ladies? Happy Smokin'

Getting cataract fixed soon so I can't tell ripeness over the net. Not that I'm any good at guessing for others on a good day, I'm not! Hey maybe after I can be!? Looking awesome here today!
Thanks :) When do you go for the procedure, Otter?
We're heading into the depths of another cold, dark winter here, so thank you for brightening up my day with the agapanthus
:green_heart:
You're welcome :) I know about your cold, dark winters! I feel very lucky to be coming out of hibernation myself!
I'm with con but I'm going 10 days on the puff balls. :cheesygrinsmiley:
Lol! Ok ten days it is :) I'm quite surprised at how long the first Somango is going. I'm looking forward to seeing this thick cola turn and ripen.

Thank you Tassie :)

Hey Bode :) Thank you!
I have thought about photoperiods and I have grown them in the past. My living arrangements are not conducive right now though.
Happy smokin' too!

Last day of this year Carmen so in a couple of months. I'm so ready!

Can I get updates (in my thread rather than Carmen's!) since I'm starting to notice mine more and more as I drive at night?
Sure!
