that white widow x skunk#1 is a new strain coming out, its not released yet for sale but it will be released soon, i got a load from herbies and got a couple growing at the minute, its a very nice looking plant so far, its such a nice looking plant so cant wait to see how it does,

what i do when one plant grows quicker than the other is to raise the pots of the plants that are smaller, keeping the canopy even will help them all grow at the same rate, but the smaller plants will soon catch up as they will be further away from the lights,

you can slow the white widow x skunk#1 down a bit, i do it from time to time if i have a fast growing plant or a plant thats stretching to much, if you remove the top set of fan leaves then it slows growth for a few days while the plant grows the new set of fan leaves, so thats something you can do, i know some people dont like cutting leaves off but it soon replaces them and it just slows growth for 2 or 3 days at the most.

Decided to try my hand at taking clones from the lemon kush. Selected two of. The bottom growths and cut them just above the node, cut them strait from the plant then snipped a 45degree cut off the bottom of the cutting to give more rooting exposure. Dipped the tip in sterilized water then in bontone rooting powder. Moistened soil then poked a hole in it with a skewer. Planted seedling and pressed soil around base for support. Placed a clear bottle over it to increase humidity.

I think I'm going to switch to flower this week, trying to decide between 24 dark then right to 12/12 or gradual step down from 18/6 ,16/8 ,14/10 12/12. Thoughts? Not really looking for a monster yeild and I already ended up with twice as many plants as intended thanks to the bagseed. Hope they end up female.........

i find it makes very little difference, if the plants are mature and showing sex under veg schedule then the dark period can make the plant start flowering sooner but if the plant is not showing sex then i find it makes no difference at all, ive tried the 24 hour dark period and dont notice any difference in flower time so go with what you think is best,

i just flip to 12-12 from the veg cycle, all methods will work and i dont think their is any difference between them, slowly decreasing the light may slow the stretch down by a day or 2 but apart from that i cant see it making much difference at all

Just read through your journal. Very well done. I like how you detail everything and explain your decisions. Only advice I can give is put nute bottles in a dark cool place. I am interested to see how your cloning method goes. I am going to set up my first indoor grow so this has been very helpful. Repps for your first grow you are doing great.

the cloning method works well, its the same method i use, if your growing in soil then its best to root clones actually in the soil, hydro or dwc would need a bubble cloner

when you plant to flower your plants I would just change the lighting schedule to 12/12 12 hours of light and 12 hours of darkness.

i find it works even without the rooting hormone, just takes a day or 2 longer

So I have 2 64w 2400k CFLs and 2 40w 2400k as well as the 125w 6500k cfl . would just the 2400k's be enough to flower these out? I think the heat reduction may be worth more than the limited spectrum my plants will be getting from the 6500k. I also may be able to find a bulb that fits the large socket in 2400k.....

I use 1 6500K 3 2700K in flower, and the opposite in veg to give them a broader spectrum.

I respect people using CFL`s of course but i really prefer a hood with a Hps light for flowerings and MH for veg...

When i first started i had a CFL light and that wasn`t for me...talking from experience

If I could effectively cool HID lighting, I would definitely have it, but I do plan to use it in the future, when I get a larger space. My vertical space is very limited, so it's either cfls, or led, but hps and mh is definitely the way to go if you want some really dense buds.

Thanks for the input guys , switched to 12/12 today going to continue to run this lighting arrangement. When they actually get into flowering I may switch to just the 24k CFLs and if those seem under flowering will add the mogul 24k.

If you are growing it you are doing it right do whatever is best for you man , i was just saying what i think, i have 3 growrooms (Clones,Veg and Flowering) and one of them is very big (flowering one) so its normal i can use Hps/MH bulbs.
