First Time Hydro!

Why cry? Get high!

Sigh...I know.
It's just that this sets me back a few more weeks yet again,
as I have to germ, veg and sex more plants.
Even tho it is a fun and nice thing to germ and watch these plants grow,
a set back is a set back and it means I'll have an even longer wait to see
the results I'm hoping for. At least all is done with the cabinet now
and the temps and Hydro are going well.

I did trim a few dead leaves off the bottom of Tammy this morning,
just a few that were lying on the hydroton and had withered and died
because of being in the reservoir solution.

I'll check her tomorrow and post pics if there are any major changes.

As always, any help or suggestions are greatly appreciated.

Peace :roorrip:

Still waiting to see if Tammy goes Hermie bro...
it's scary.

Peace :roorrip:

if every thing in your grow is top shelf let them have that pollen orgy

and make up your own cross seems to me that weed with seed gets me just as high or higher than sensee even if preparing it is a little more work.....

Been lookin at your grows man, looks like your learnin alot. Looking at this most recent grow makes me want to try the waterfarm system. If i had the space I would go for it. Someday I hope to be in a situation like yours, it likes a good one. I yearn for a life of makin money in the music business as well as growin herb on the side. Good luck with your quest for the ultimate mother as well. You've been through alot with your plants goin herm and all, but it will be worth it in the end once youve got ol' girl for good.

haha ball hair.. sorry to hear it infact was just a plain ol ball.

you'll get her eventually.

its funny someone should mention that seedless or seeded doesnt matter in potency. it really doesnt. its mass just isnt comprised of bud; it has seed thus takin away from potential weight. i say cross it and go crazy with it! lol

Heys all...
None of the new beans have sprouted yet.
Tammy seems to be having a nute deficiency or something.
I need some help. I am using GH Flora series and the
Nute Calculator I use is *HERE* And the PPM Calculator I use is ^HERE^.
Please , If someone has time , Look at the pics and help me decide what she needs.
I plan on changing the nute solution tomorrow and I am also gonna put an airstone in
the Hydrofarm reservoir to oxygenate the solution more. I was gonna go with the
"BLOOM" nute measurements tomorrow when I change.

Anyway... here are todays pics.

I want to say its either a nitrogen or magnesim deffciency.

I think you have a little bit of both.

it could also be a Ph issue. im sure someone can find mooses deffciency guide. lol i couldnt find it but its somewhere on here.

try getting some ferts high in N and see what its does :cheesygrinsmiley:

what kind of water are you mixing your nutes with ? city? tap?
well?

do you have a ph meter or test kit?

if your water is hard it will affect your nutrients some companies make up a hard water formula for dro nutes....

city water you can get their test results get the full lab report
it will list ppm for lots of stuff stuff that will affect your nutes
are calcium magnesium manganese iron ...

check the websites for hydro nutes or the college agriculture stufff
look up nutrient lockout and ph there should be a chart that shows what chemicals get screwed up at differing PHs

seat of the pants fixes i have used in a former passive hydro wick
DWC sys with no air pump

change water to distilled water leave out all extra nutes for a week then mix at third or half strength and add the dilute nutes to the plain water to make up water loss only for a week

underfeeding and distilled water won't kill a plant unless there's something else wrong[ fungus root rot parasites critters]

somewhere from sweden?[around there ] i saw a post on a urine thread that used pee and distilled water as a hydro nute
i have used that as a soil nute with tap water in veg frequently
cause i don't foliar feed much maybe 1-2 times a grow and thats a molasses and kelp with a bit of stale beer and lots of water
and the beer does more for soil enzymes stuff so usually that goes in dirt first and rarely on leaves in veg only

with out tools meters or test kits i would go rain or distilled water
`and add nutes to that at half strength on the same day every week and only enough to replace water loss once a week and other days just add water
yes i know this doesn't maximize what you could do in hydro but
until you get it dialed in for you set up you shouldn't kill the plant either.....

i went back to soil by the way will be doing a dro set-up in the near future either DWC or aeroponics if a can get a tds meter

go check out some hydro journals cropking.com has links to
university website references on hydro or its from their hobby division carefreegarden when you do find a good troubleshooting guide write it down on paper and bookmark it in your browser....
i should do that myself on paper seems that i lose bookmarks every couple months if my browser updates or my antivirus...

fillabong420.. thanx, I'm gonna get a general consensus of what a few people post before I change soultion tomorrow.

I've perused our own Cannabis Plant and Pest Problem Solver - Pictorial and I just can't decide what's what.

zolar...
Ummm... Yea, I have ph kit... posted in most of my recent updates that I've been checking ph. I check it usually 2 times a day. I keep it between 5.5 - 6

I use distilled water.

A lotta info there bud, but no insight as to WHAT the deficiencies could or may be.

Oh well...

As always, any help or suggestions are greatly appreciated.

Peace :roorrip:

hopefully boss sg or racefan will pop in and correct me if im wrong :cheesygrinsmiley:

Thanx DaMagoMan for checking in on me.

Well...right, wrong or otherwise...I tried something today.
After seeing how well the now deceased Test Victim did
in the DWC Bubbler I built, I decided to put Tammy in it.
I carefully dug around the hydroton, removed what I could and
then put Tammy's root mass in a 6" net pot and topped it off
with enough hydroton to fill it to the brim. I then placed her in
the Bubbler.
I am still gonna change the solution in a bit and
after reading elsewhere and seeing the last couple of post
replies, I will give her a little more N later today.Just wanted to
see how well she did with the transplant before I actually changed
the nutes. One reason I believe the Test Victim did so much better
is because of the large amount of oxygen the DWC supplied as
opposed to the Hydrofarm. Who knows ? LOL ! Guess we'll see

Now. IF this works I think I'm gonna use 3" net pots in the
Hydrofarm to veg seedling and clones. I'm thinking I can put 4 or
so at a time in it and easily move them to 6" pots in the bubblers
when I need. Put a pot in a larger pot , so to speak.

Let's hope the initial transplant goes well.

As always, any help or suggestions are greatly appreciated.

Peace :roorrip:

Wow, should be interesting to see how she takes the late transplant.

Yea charliemopps...it will be interesting. I just changed the rez solution
and according to the calculator, with the measurments I used, it "should"
look a bit like this as far as ppm goes.

NN-164
AN-18
UN-0
P-37
K-225
Ca-107
Mg-29
S-39
Fe-2.5
Zn-1
Cu-0.3
B-0.2
Mo-0.1
Co-0.01

I mixed the nutes as per the "Growth" settings as this gave the most N.

I used distilled water.

It's a 1.3 gallon rez and I mixed the nutes for 1 gallon, so they'd be a bit weaker than called for

We'll see how she does. I'll post pics tomorrow if she lives thu the night.

Wish me luck....

As always, any help or suggestions are greatly appreciated.

Peace :roorrip:

Been 6 hours since the transplant and she's still perky !

Peace :roorrip:

Good Morning all.

Well , 24 hours after the transplant and the plant is looking
healthier to my eyes. The pics I took today really don't show
the difference ,in my humble opinion, but I'm taking the new
growth into consideration.
The new leaf tips and such look better to me. The older leaves
and such have yellowed up a bit. I dunno... new nute solution
and LOTS more oxygen as I added a second airstone and pump
to the bubbler. Guess we'll see... She's still popping out new
flower pistils...

One bean sprouted today..I'm guessing the rest will follow soon.

Anyway...here's pics of today.
