First Time Growing

@Pennywise I picked up my MC bag today.
i'd appreciate if you could walk me through how you would mix a batch for a 2L bottle.
 
@Pennywise couple questions dude.
The numbers on my new ph pen reader dont stay on zero. It starts at 6.85
Do i have to calibrate this? if so, do I have to use distilled water?
If I don't have 6.8 solution any more, should i just calibrate it to 4.01 once i buy distilled water?
My TDS meter manual dosn't say what scale meter it is. I have the blue with black cap TDS meter. Ideas?

First timer in Canada here too. FYI I found foxfarm soil pretty easily in Ontario. You have to go to specialized stores not big box stores. I paid about 25 bucks a bag which is about half the price of ordering through amazon.

Welcome to :420: @Tillyoudie420, Yes you can find foxFarm in hydroponic stores. However, The store in my town hasn't recieved their shipment and promix was about the same price.
 
Pro Mix is what I use, but I build my own soil, it doesn't have much if any regarding nutrients. IT IS the best building block for cooking your own organic Mixes. ROOTS and Fox Farm is fine for bagged soils, I prefer ROOTS, but either way, just feed them in Late Veg if you go for Big plants, or in Bloom only if doing midrange 30-40 inch plants.
 
@Pennywise I got everything that was mentioned.
The ph pen is now calibrated to the closes point. One ph pen is reading the solution at 6.92 VS the other pen reads it at
7.04. The solution is ph7.

I also got some distilled water. It was pretty affordable so i got 2 4L jugs.

I also went to paint store and got a clean empty 5g pale. Going to put the hydroplant in the 5g pale.

I'd apprecite if you walk me through making this batch for both hydroponic and the soil.
