Hello Miasma, I'm curious?, are you using topsoil for your medium?

BB-1_WK-1.jpg

Blueberry Plant #1: The very first Blueberry planted, one of the last survivors of the initial overload.

BB-2_WK-1.jpg

Blueberry Plant #2: The only other survivor from the first planting of the Blueberry strain.

BB-3_WK-1.jpg

Blueberry Plant #3: The new #3, looking fresh.

BB-4_WK-1.jpg

Blueberry Plant #4: The new sprouts look substantially healthier than the originals.

BB-5_WK-1.jpg

Blueberry Plant #5: The last seed planted, and fittingly the last to pop.

Other Updates:
Purgatory Seed #1 was a dud and has been disposed of. Beyond this, Blueberry Seedling #3 also kicked the bucket and I've shifted my nominal system accordingly to match the amount of plants that are left.

Your journal is off to a great start, I love how detailed it's been. I think that's why I skipped over what soil your using because I was eager to see how things are going haha.
Once I'm finished with my current grow I have some blueberry fem seeds I plan to drop so maybe we can help each other along the way.

Thank you, I really appreciate hearing that! I haven't ever had a hobby draw me in quite so thoroughly before, so I've just been trying my best to stay at full speed with the journal. I'm becoming more addicted to growing and it comes out in my rambling. I also must say this place is a fantastic tool for networking and learning new things; I really enjoy that I am able to organize my experiences within a community.

Feminized Blueberry sounds like a fun grow, are they Old World Genetics or another breeder's? I'll help in any way I can but I am sure I'll be picking your brain a lot, considering how new I am to this lol. I think the next seeds I'll purchase will be an obscure landrace; I was looking into Nepalese strains but I don't know if I'll be able to find what I want as easily as I think.

I've never heard the term "old world genetics" or "obscure landrace" before so I'm looking into it now. Interesting information that i can spend my evening learning more about. So thank you for that!
The blueberry fem seeds I have are from Seedsman, one of the 420 sponsors, these are actually the free seeds they sent with the order. Looking into the strain they seemed cool so I'll keep them vegging while I grow out some auto strains.

-VIPARSPECTRA Reflector-Series 300W Full-Spectrum Hanging LED

In Transit:
-6" 2-Speed Clip Fan
-(2x) 80mm PC Fans
-(15x) 5"x5"x12" Sea of Green Grow Pots
-(25x) 3' Natural Bamboo Stakes

Clone Thunderdome:

-Amats 45W Full-Spectrum hanging LED
-HydroDynamics Clonex Clone Solution (1 Quart)
-HydroDynamics Clonex Rooting Gel (100ml)

In Transit:
-TurboKlone T24D Aeroponic Cloning System with 24 Site Cloners and Humidity Dome

The primary pieces have just arrived for the Mothership, but I still need my pots and PC Fans to arrive before I can start transplanting the Solo Cup Seedlings and Afghani Clones into their new homes. I also decided to pick up some Great White Mycorrhizal Fungi Root Enhancer, as well as an old-school 2-Magnifying Glass to get this party kicked into gear. I have also found a home for Clone Thunderdome to reside without adding more to my shrinking office; everything seems to be fitting into place well, and I'm glad that a few pieces of Thunderdome have already been delivered as well.

Old World Genetics is just DJ Short's parent company and a landrace is a strain that grows natively to a specific region; landraces are the great grand-daddy strains that have been naturally occurring across the globe since ancient times; for example, the Afghani landrace I've picked up is a pure indica, unaltered and not interbred with any other type of plant but those it grew around in the wild.

I am thinking of trying an auto next, how do you like them over photos? I ordered with The Single Seed Centre and their site was taken down shortly after my seeds were taken by customs, so I haven't ordered from the United Kingdom again (yet). I went with Seeds Here Now in Oregon for my Blueberry and Buds & Roses in Studio City, CA to pick up my genetics. Beyond that I try to find rare clones out here, but I can't get anymore until I expand the above setup! : O-[--[

I'm sorry to hear about how that order turned out. Interestingly enough I would order from castle marijuana seeds who's sister company is the single seed centre so I've order from both actually, never had an issue. Both sites have been shut down the past few weeks which is why I jumped on here to check out the sponsors. Single seed centre would just send a padded envelope with the seeds inside nothing stealthy so I was amazed when my order from Seedsman came in. Super stealthy!, it was packaged in a child's toy box that actually had those items in it along with my seeds. Pretty cool I thought.
I think autos have improved over the years. I really do like them a lot. It's trial and error with them though. My last was a blue amnesia auto, 17in tall and the dried weight was 42g. If more autos where reliable like that I would hands down love them more haha until then I'll use them to help kill the time while I'm training my photos during veg.
It's awesome you can get seeds or clones locally! My state is not there yet, close though.

I was originally going to go with attitude because of the stealth shipping, but tssc said they shipped in discrete packaging without extra; I figured out that they only send a padded envelope when I got the green tape, which I don't think should be marketed as discreet packaging on their site at all. I'll give it another shot when I pick up my next batch, I'm super picky about my strains.

I was thinking about picking up some autos and just running 24/0 under an LED with them or even 12/12 in the Bloom Room with my photo's. I'll experiment a bit when I buy another round of seeds, but that does sound convenient to not have to worry about when to flower them. I might look into a C. Ruderalis landrace.

Re: First Planting - Blueberry, Purgatory, Kushberry - Indoor Organic Soil - LED & HP

The Mothership

The Mothership tent is complete. I have rigged it with two out-take fans, one passive air intake and one propelled air intake. Kushberry #1-#3 and Blueberry #1-#3 have all been re-potted here; I am using 12"x5"x5" tall, rounded-rectangular pots (as close to cylindrical as I can get). I need to pick up more soil before I can begin re-housing the next cabinet's inhabitants, but so far everything fits perfectly and the temperature is around 77-81 degrees. All of the plants have very healthy looking root systems, and everything that has just been transplanted has been given Bone Meal to promote root growth; this is the only nutrient I've administered for these seedlings so far, and I did a half dosage for each plant.

Vegetative Day 33 - Kushberry Seedlings #1 & #2

Both of these have started having very healthy growth spurts.

Vegetative Day 29 - Blueberry Seedlings #1 & #2

I am anticipating that Seedling #1 will probably be a Clone Mother at some point down the line, but we will see how the new seedlings' genetics fare in comparison also. I pulled the plug on Blueberry Seedling #3; it was wilting, deformed and the root system did not progress after the transplant to a nutrient-free medium. Instead, new seedlings have been planted.

Bloom Day 20 - Purgatory Seedling #1

The only remaining Purgatory seedling is the one that was placed into a 12/12 Flowering Photoperiod from seedling stage. The second Purgatory seedlings in the Propagation Chamber has died.

Day 10 - Kushberry Seedlings #3-#5

All of these look very healthy and have zero signs of nutrient burn or over/under-watering. I am pleased with this round of plants.

Day 10 - Blueberry Seedlings #3-#5

As the Kushberry seedlings above, these last few Blueberry plants are very healthy and growing fast with zero signs of nutrient burn or over/under-watering.

Post-Transplant Updates:

Upon finding a small insect in the freshly-transplanted soil of my Afghani Clones and Blueberry Seedling #4, I inspected it with my magnifying glass to discover that it was a spider mite.

All of the seedlings (as well as my other thread's clones) have now received a strong dose of 100% Pure Neem Oil in a diluted not a water solution because of this one mite; I am disappointed in Lowe's for distributing products with these problems, obviously due to improper storage. While this product might be an organic soil mixture, it also could explain the sudden withering and lack of rooting that my three Afghani Clones experienced, though they were uniformly sustained the same way as my successful clones. I will still use this soil to make sure that none goes to waste, and I will fix the problem that they began so that their product will still be useful for somebody, at least. I worry for people who just want to plant a flower or something simple with this, who haven't read very much about pest control or are just too young to understand beyond that basic mechanic.

I also started filling soil containers in a cardboard box; this really helps keep my workspace clean, as well as reduce my waste that before would have would been vacuumed or swept. I now can just empty the cardboard box into the bag when it has collected enough spillage.

The last Neem Oil purchase I made was listed as organic on its bottle, but was only 70% Neem Oil; that made me think a lot about what else they could have in there, considering that the remaining percentage of the solution was labeled "Other Ingredients." I have since thrown the old bottle out upon finding a reliable brand of 100% Pure Organic Neem Oil; the purposeful lack of warning label and online research of this particular product both yield that this product is safe enough to brush your teeth with. The whole garden has been dosed, and will be dosed again within the week.

I like how detailed you are and I think you would Benito searching for the guys growing in High Brix. Doc bud and the rest of the growers will guide you in the best I feel can be grown. I don't have the link or I would share it but I'm sure it's normally in the top few threads in your timeline. Good luck bro, you have what it takes to grow the best!!

Wow man, thank you for the compliment! That is very uplifting to hear given the time and money I've invested into this hobby so far; I love doing this so much that I'd like to apply for a cultivation license in CA when 2018 rolls around. I don't have much experience yet, only knowledge from what I've retained from reading, but I keep getting more and more absorbed into this day by day. I have seen those in the feed and haven't looked at the threads yet, but I will definitely read into it based on your recommendation.

Re: First Planting - Blueberry, Purgatory, Kushberry - Indoor Organic Soil - LED & HP

BB-1_Top.jpg

Blueberry Seedling #1 has been topped.
Ladybugs1.jpg

Kushberry Seedling #1 has also been topped, pictured here hanging out with some ladybugs.

Pest Control and Mycorrhizae

All of my plants have been double dosed twice with Great White Mycorrhizae and are doing quite well since the initial application. I will be doing one more application next week to ensure widespread growth of the beneficial microorganisms. Beyond this, my ladybugs have arrived and each growing space is now occupied with around 15-50 beetles, that's 150 beetles distributed between them. I saw another Spider Mite after my initial Neem Oil application, so I wish them the best of luck with my new army; I just spent a few minutes watching one of the ladybugs dig around the soil eating Spider Mites. I only saw two actual mites crawling around while this occurred, but it shows how determined the ladybugs are to find food. I am relieved.

Vegetative Day 38 - Kushberry Seedlings #1 & #2

Kushberry #1 is the only plant from this strain to be topped so far, as #2 is stunted and the other seedlings were planted much later.

Vegetative Day 34 - Blueberry Seedlings #1 & #2

Both of these plants are growing quite fast now and have experienced enough growth to be topped. Both have been topped at the 3rd node, and right now they are already putting out new leaflets on Day 1 after topping. I'd like to show an updated picture but I don't want to deal with ladybugs getting everywherewhen I open the tent far enough to get the photo again, so it will have to wait.

Vegetative Day 19 - Bloom Day 24 - Purgatory Seedling #1

Purgatory Seedlings #1 is growing in the Bloom Room very quickly with a very rich color. I'll get some more photos of it when it has another growth spurt this coming week; 12/12 from seedling is not a bad way to go!

Week 2 Complete - Kushberry Seeds #3-#5

These seedlings look so much healthier than my first round, and the first leaves are getting to be quite large compared to what I have seen before these plants. I am quite proud that they have done so well this far.

Week 2 Complete - Blueberry Seeds #3-#5

These are much more growing much more healthily than the last batch, and the leaves look quite interesting. When the second node comes in fully I will post more photos of each.

Re: First Planting - Blueberry, Purgatory, Kushberry - Indoor Organic Soil - LED & HP

How many sets of leaves did they have before you topped? Just wondering, I hear one should wait until there are at least 5 full sets and each leaf having a full set of five fingers, so to speak. Not sure as I haven't dont this yet and mine are still quite young. Just two weeks now

Re: First Planting - Blueberry, Purgatory, Kushberry - Indoor Organic Soil - LED & HP

I topped Blueberry Plant #1 at node three; it had five nodes, and there are already two tops growing on it after topping. Blueberry Plant #2 at node three; it had four nodes, and also there are already two tops growing on it afterward. Kushberry Plant #1 at node three; it had five nodes, and also already has two tops growing on it afterward. All of these have five leaves on each leaflet and are doing quite well.
