When plants are flowering you really dont want the humidity up that high. 40% being the most in my opinion. Also what is your temp at? I heat and high humidity will cause mild easily.

Well in that case i wouldn't smoke any more of that particular plant. Smoking mold can cause serious health effects.

Ok so I've now moved the GG's into a separate area using my old 200w CFL until harvest. Hopefully this helps keep the humidity down a bit. I think i FIRM'ed them. Which i've dubbed "F#$% i really missed!" They have great undergrowth happening but i can't tell if i have anymore than 1 top coming up.

Gave lefty (Seen on the right) 2L of ph'd water today. She seems to be doing very well... much thicker than a few days ago.
Amazing fruity lemony smells coming off her.

Righty (On the left, haha) still has a strange unpleasant smell. I pulled some large buds apart to look in and cant see any signs of mould. The smell on my fingers afterwards isn't bad either, more your typical cannabis smell. She also looks to be burning a bit on her higher leaves, so i'm guessing this is from the light. They are turning a purple colour that i don't believe is from the genetics.

Started LST on the failed FIMed GG's today. The attempt seems to have had a positive effect on the undergrowth though, like 5 tops under there already

I wouldn't call that a failed FIMed. The purpose of a FIM is to stop the vertical growth of the main cola and to allow all the little shoots catch up, just like topping it would. Only difference the FIM method still alows you to keep your main cola unlike topping. Which it looks like you have accomplished.

Yes it does... is weird. I've even plucked some of the higher leaves off and can faintly smell it in their stems. If i squeeze the buds (naughty naughty) the residue of my hands smells amazing... like super citrusy. I can't work it out.

It appears to be stronger on the outside though.. when i pull the bud apart and sniff its almost not even there. I'm hoping once its all trimmed and cured it might dissipate.

Day 57

So I'm now at the minimum harvest date according to the breeder. Sweetseeds say between 57-63 days from germination.

I took some close ups but can't see any amber, if they even go amber. I'm struggling to tell if there are any cloudy trichs yet either, and they look clear to me. I am limited by time, and Monday is the latest I can harvest to give myself enough drying and curing time before I take off for a week. I think I will wait until Monday, which will bring them to 60 days.

Both are running very low on water, and am not sure if it's worth giving them a small drink to get them through. Righty hasn't had a drink since her flush 12 days ago! That shows you how little she's drinking, and probably how poor her root system is. The strange smell I'm told by a friend is normal and "skunky", but she still smells totally different to Lefty who is still very sweet.

Amber has started growing nicely, and I'll transplant in a few days. I couldn't start her in her finishing pot due to space restrictions, but hopefully it won't slow her down too much.

The GG's are doing amazing and I'll start a new thread with pics once this is harvested.

Harvest Day!!

I ended up getting my digital slr out and taking some proper photos and having a look with adobe lightroom. I was surprised to see that Righty had all cloudy and quite a few amber going on. Lefty was mostly cloudy, so I made the decision that today was the day.
Could have gone another few days but I'm a massive lightweight anyway and it's good to have them at different stages so I can see the difference.
Man was Lefty sweet and smelling! Seriously it was like berry cotton candy.

My trimming is a bit lacklustre but it's all personal smoke and I'm not concerned with having them all pretty so i left more leaf on than is probably considered acceptable.

I got 163g wet with stems so I'm guessing just over an oz maybe?
Will post an update in a few days when dried.

Thanks so much for all the assistance and encouragement along the way, it was so much fun and a great learning experience.

Congratulations on your harvest. I'm guessing that with 163 g wet you will yield about 2 ounces. Just my guess. You knocked it over the wall. What's up next?

Thanks Troy, I'm actually pretty chuffed considering I was only drawing around 115w from the wall most of the way. I'm super excited to try them and have a vaporizer on the way which will also be a new experience for me.

Next I'll move the Southern Star Seeds GG Allins into the tent and flip the switch and pray for females. I'll get a journal going for that and will try and work out how to add it as a sig.
I'll also transplant Amber today or tomorrow into the 3 gal geo pot and then I should have a nicely packed tent.

Daytime temps are dropping now and with a full grow under my belt I'm hoping to improve.

You will do great for sure. When temperatures are dropping I plan my lights to be burning during the coldest part of the day and sleep during the warmer times. I'm not sure how cold your temperatures drop. I live in a very moderate climate where we don't really get super hot or cold.

Cheers Troy. Yes i plan to run lights on over night. Temps for the next 8 weeks shouldn't swing too much as its autumn here. Once winter hits it can drop to 5 degrees celcius over night so i have the tube heater to combat that.

I just watered one of the GGs and although i like the fabric pots, its a bit annoying how the water runs out the sides! Ill have to place them in a saucer before watering next time i think.

That's interesting. My fabric pots don't have runoff from the sides. It all seems to come out the bottom. I do have all my pots in deep saucers and sitting on top of a paver brick so it never sits in the run-off.

I think it may be my media being so dry, instead of immediately absorbing it seems to find the path of least resistance and shoots out the sides. I'm wondering if a layer of perlite or those clay balls on top may spread the water better and prevent this happening.

I've started my new journal for those interested, and link is in my sig. I will stay with this journal until dryed and jarred and update on weights and quality when as it happens. I did have a sneaky one last night and it was pretty amazing... I was glued to the movie I was watching which is rare for me, as I usually fall asleep these days (My children waking me up at 5:30am doesn't help). It was a great mix of head and body which I'm guessing is the result of being almost a 50/50 hybrid. Awesome stuff!

Hey Guys, Sorry for the long absence.

So, we're all cured and weighed..... 38g dry.
A little disappointing when looking at the weight, but running 2 auto's with 100w of LED and running into a few issues,i haven't done too bad. I think i harvested early too, but i was limited by time. Lefty didn't have any brown pistils really, but i think Righty was pretty much ready to go.

The smoke is very nice, and very balanced. Not too strong and not sedating. I feel i can have a daytime puff or watch a movie with complete focus. I'm also using a vaporizer for the first time, so that is a different experience as well.

Both smell completely different. Lefty is like sweet blueberries, while Righty is smells like strong lemon zest and pine. Both smoke slightly different too with Righty being stronger and Lefty still tasting a bit grassy.

Looking back I've leaned so much in just doing one grow. Thank you to everyone for dropping in and either helping me along the way or just offering up encouragement. My next is already going so smoothly thanks to all the help i received.

Good on you mate, for a first grow that a fine effort! I bet you learnt stacks, It just looked to me like your girls were hungry most of the time, once you get confident giving them nicely balanced yet strong feeds especially with the cal/mag you will have a lot of nice buds in your hands in no time. great work, keep it up.

I had a pretty big day on the meds yesterday just because.. and i must say its perfect for me. Great effects that last a couple of hours and i can dose easily with my vaporizer getting to where i want to be without it getting too much. In the past (12 years ago) i made a batch of canna butter that would take down a bison. It wasn't fun, it was just hours and hours of heavy body stone. I haven't really touched much of the stuff since then so to have something like this puts the fun back into it.
