Hey guys :-) just wanted to ask for de-humidifier solutions opposed to purchasing one.
I bought a bag of rock salt y/day dried it out and added some in a bucket that did not seem to get my RH down,i then got some netting made little baseball size balls and hung them from the roof of my grow room with no real change to the RH today either,am i doing something wrong ? e.g do i need to crush the rock salt down some more etc ?

cheers for any info :peace: VG :peace:

Ok, it seems to me that the salt is too deep/thick in the bucket to be effective. I would try and get some cookie sheets, spread the salt in a nice layer, not too thick, nor too thin and see how that works.

:goodjob:

The moisture is being sucked up by the air and heat into your tent atmosphere when Temp rise, then falls back when the Temps drop. I'd put it up 3/4's & see if that helps.

U don't have anything 2 worry about virgin.all 1st time growers experience something along their 1st grow.that PIC u posted of lightburn is exactally the same as mine went.all u have 2 do is raise that light another foot if u can.just move that plant away from under the bulb.put a plant that looks behind in place of the burnt plant.those leaves will die an fall of.nothing 2 worry about.:thumb:

Cheers Radogast will go have a peep at that right now :-)

I have been reasearching most of the day and everything leads back to rock salt, which i have but i can't for the life of me make out wtf i am doing wrong lol

They prolly will be ok with high 40% low 50% RH but i'm not ! lol

Hey VG,

Is your window open? If so, how's the weather? You might be drawing in moisture from the outside into your grow room. If the window is open, shut it for an hour or two. I'll bet the humidity drops down to 30% when the room is buttoned up. Humidity at 40% to 50% isn't that bad at all. I know you use your window for ventilation, but you can leave it open in the day for fresh CO2 & button the room down at night!

:goodjob:

Hey SABO cheers yeah i get ya the window is only open a tiny bit 24 hours a day and the weather has been a little crappy today,i'm afraid i have been a bit of a dingbat IMO,get this,
my exhaust duct is plugged into a dome with extra high RH for the clones which is also in the same room as the grow tent,so i'm getting constant humid air coming out of the vent holes on my clone dome-dome,more than likley being sucked back in by the fan, that will be coming down in a few days, hopefully that should drop it to where i'm happy lol :-)
