yeah i've seen the plastic bottle being used alot here on 420 you say you were a military man SABO may i ask what you done in the military ? tell me too p*ss off if i'm being too nosey
hey BOB'S been thinking,i am going to take some clones before i flip my ladies to 12/12,as i want to keep this strain going, but first am going to get some supplies i plan on picking up some CFL bulbs and converting an old wooden closet into cloning/early veg room,is there any suggestions on what sort of bulb i should use or should i have a couple of different ones ? cheers in advance
I think you can use Floro's or CFLs, I guess whatever is most cost effective and least amount of work for you. Some people on 420 use small fish aquariums for cloning. It just might be cheaper to do it that way. You have the light and a dome right on top of it.
Also, I posted 2 pictures of the ladies. I'm not that good with a camera & I just can't see to get the Macros right under that dang HPS light, but at least I'm trying!
Morning SABO cool,i have a 4x2x2 fish tank with floro tube,i also have a few diff bulb's for it which i am not using(won't be for a while) saving up so start a cichlid tank would that be too big you think ?
Just went to look at you bush ha ha looking great even if i do say so myself !! the macro and the hps don't mix v.well, the camera on my phone wont take tidy snaps but my nikon slr will so thats what i use now i have average camera skills as i take shots of my boy when he races his mountain bike saves me buying them from a webshite you won't get better if you don't practice
No, it'll be fine & if it's already there, use it. Thanks for the compliment. Yes, I need more practice with the camera before I put that on my resume.
I am really going to be watching you on the cloning process, so read up mate so you can me help out on my next go around! I trust myself on just about everything, except cloning. It seems some people just have the knack & others don't & others are just too damn afraid to try! That's me, the last one! :surrender:
lol when it's time to clone for me i think i am going to create a thread and record step by step what process i follow,(with pics)i have decided to clone in the next week or so as i have read to feed mother plant just plain ph'd water for a week before taking them i'm still finding threads and reading them but they are all saying the same thing in a nutshell,i plan on taking 2 clones from each PP.i am going to use rockwool cubes for two,and plop two straight into soil to see which works best for me plus i can compare
I am confident i know what to do,but putting it into practice is another thing, seing as i can only just bring myself to trim lower leaves off ha ha the way i'm looking at it is if it doesn't work for me i can say i have tried, and if i don't try i get no clones !! so it's worth the risk .. nothing ventured nothing gained ;-)
I was scared to cut my first clones.
But then I said what the hell and did it. I cut my first clones At 45 degree angle dip into water instantly, Re cut stem underwater then plant into soil and cover with water bottle dome with a small vent home up top and placed under cfl lights and spray 2-3 times a day to keep up humidity. Just have to do it and know you won't always get 100% when cloning. But clones are cool. I have had some
Monster clones that grow quickly once they set roots and are flowering awesomely now.
cheers closetgrown,i didn't intend on taking clones this time round, but i have two polyploid power plant (p22) which i would like to keep going,so i guess it's going to be sooner rather than later
Just saw the light question. You could use fluro tube lights or cfl lihhts clones don't need excessive lighting just enough for vegging. In USA u can get a good power root hormone from Wally World. It works great. Also if u really wanted to you could build a bubble Cloner. I made mine with one 60 gal air pump two 8 in air stones and a small Tupperware container. I cut holes using a searing hot 17 mm socket this perfectly fit cut water bottle tops, which I filled with my soil mix and pushed my clones through the soil to be bubbled above surface of water. I saw great results with this. So great I had to toss some clones due to too many survivors and vigorous growth. I used water bottle bottoms to create humidity domes on top of clones for 4-5 days or until roots began to form.
Pic of my bubbler on the left wrapped in med taps to reduce light. Also I have had good success transplanting back into soil, just don't let roots get too large or the transplant pot will have to be larger to safely place the roots. I did this and now I have clones that will need 3-8 gal containers for soil transplant, so now I'm experimenting with bubbler growing or I guess what they call dwc.
Yes I saw the post on the poly. I would clone too!! If I remember the plant is still vegging, let her veg and practice cloning till u can get a good couple survivors. as long as your not on a strict time frame.
yeah my lil ladies are all still in veg and will be for 2-3 weeks depends on how they come along,i think i am going to keep it simple for the first time cloning, just get to used to it is the main lesson for me (this time anyways)once i have got the cloning to a tea i will deffo try using some other methods. I have read alot of good things about clonex rooting gel and i can get hold of it easy here in the EU so i think thats the one i am going to use. I am on a bit of a time frame i have around 13 weeks to play around
