First Grow!

Cheers SABO, yeah i should harvest before my holiday, well i've worked out if i flip on the 15th of next month and flowering period is 8-9 weeks i also need time for it to dry enough so i can cure it and allowed a few weeks just incase i need longer veg or flowering period :-)

Cool i didn't know that i thought the time stated from when the pistills started to show i assumed it was from when you switched the light cycle, noob showing thru again ha ha ha !! i will go and check on the website now just to be sure lol

i hear you,i might not let it go the 8 weeks just incase,i think i'll just take it week by week,i will deffo leave it two weeks though to give my ladies more than enough time to recover from the be-heading before i flip um my next veg can be as long as i want :-) it sais 8 weeks on the webshite so have to give it a week or two longer to be on safe side i can't decide ha ha ha when i go away if they ain't ready they are going to have to come down when i go lol

hey fellow BOB'S hope all is well with you just another update on my not so lil ladies :-) after be-headding two of them the other day i left them alone till this morning(feed day) so i pulled the ladies out of the room one by one added nutes to water at 2ml per L then ph'd it to 6.5 with my shiny new PH pen,i fed the two PP 3.5 pints each and the mazar had two pints of nuted water and a pint of straight ph'd to 6.5 tested the run off in each of them the 2 PP read 6.5 and the mazar read 6.6 which i am more than happy with, anyhoos enough with the jibber jabber here they are, just a few shots :-)
first a shot of the PP i topped a few weeks ago with some stepladdering :-)

Great looking shots VG! Those babies are ready to go into flower if they are step-laddering! Now it's up to you when you want to put them to bed early and wake em up 12 hours later!

cheers SABO,hope you are well :-)

Think i'm going to give them two more weeks of vegging plenty of time to recover from the topping/fimming and to get some more nutes in them cos they have only had 3 feeds i think ha ha ha ! The PP are deffo more thirsty than the mazar at the moment and the mazar seems to be sensitive to the nutes so i think i am going to have to keep mazar on light nutes while i'm pumping the PP full of um,they seem to love anything i put in with them ! :-)

Did you check out the pic with the leaves sprouting 3 at a time ? lol

Hows your girls mate ?

Yes, from the beginning your Mazar was sort of fussy, but different strains mean different needs. You have a keen eye and was able to see that early on! Your growth on the PP is simply amazing and they are starting to go wild!

My lil ladies are just soaking up the sun for their photo shoot tomorrow.

i'd have to agree mate last feeding the mazar had the same as the PP nute wise, and within a day the very tip of the plant leaves went a little brown and crispy that was her telling me stop !! ha ha :-) agreed on the power plant they are really starting to take off,its like they on steroids ha ha ha :-) we had a lovely morning of sun here and was gagging to put my lil ladies out in the sun,but too many nosey people around, didn't want to risk it so kept them indoors "sigh" what a complete GRRRRRRRR ha ha ha ha !!

Looking forward to your photoshoot tomorrow mate i'm all excited for you how far into flower are your ladies now ? :peace:

Yes, agree with different strains and how to handle them each accordingly. Tomorrow will be the start of the 3rd week of flowering. Ten days since the pistils formed, my strains take 6-8 weeks, so I have a good month and a half to go.

As you noticed, I picked real easy strains to grow, since I had to learn everything from scratch, lots of reading & finding the right people here to ask some questions.

Also, when I went to college in Germany (lived there 20 years) I lived in a dormitory where other students were studying botany. I accidentally learned a lot about plants helping them study for their tests! LOL!

I wonder if you don't have a polyploid there, SABO. It's particularly bushy and it looks like it spits out 2 leaves per node? If so, cool! They can be real winners.

You have great looking youngsters!

:thumb:

hi greytail and welcome :-) what you mean by polyploid? i'm going to have to find a thread on that now just to nip my curiosity in the bud, ;-)

I didn't think about that when i chose my strains SABO,maybe i should have,i chose mine by what i wanted to smoke ! ha ha maybe the wrong way to have started ! maybe its good they sent me the PP by mistake then, but saying that the orange bud i was spose to have instead was easy to grow i remember reading about it,not till after i purchased them though ha ha ha

how was germany to live mate, its somewhere i wanted to visit,i don't know why, just do lol i didn't get to go to college i became a tearaway instead much to my regret !

VG, I think Graytail means, instead of two leaves branching out from the main stem, you are getting 3! That's awesome! To keep that good trait, you might want to think about trying to clone her. Do you have anyone to take care of a cloned plant when you go on vacation?

I didn't go to college until I was finished with the military. I was stationed in Germany, then lived there as a civilian for about 15 years, Germany is a very beautiful country. I traveled all through Europe while I was there, in fact, I have seen more of Europe than the US.

i catch your drift mate,i have found a thread and am now reading up on it. Its only the one PP that is doing it i think ha ha the one i topped first a few weeks ago and it is doing it all over a little but the first two branches that sprouted are crazy with leaves,my brother is staying at my house to watch my two dogs while i'm away and he can follow instructions well,i'm prolly more of a noob than he is at growing !! i will have to purchase a dome i have seen them in my local hardware store so will pick one up asap,i will also need some rooting agent and some rockwool cubes. Can you think of anything i have missed out on ?

Well, I can't think of anything except a very sharp razor blade to make the cut. I personally don't like rock wool for anything & I would just put it in plain potting soil to get the roots going. Before you cut, stop feeding the mother for just one week and then make the cut or the clone will try and grow instead of developing roots. Take 3 or 4 cuts, just in case, but with your green thumb, I wouldn't doubt it if you had immediate success.

I haven't cloned before, so this advice is just based upon reading.

i have been reading up on cloning and am pretty confident that it is within my ability as long as i leave instructions for my brother, but saying that i will be doing the most important part of it getting the little clone to root, and it will just be in veg then while i'm away :-)

Cool, can't wait. Also, if you have an empty plastic 2 liter pepsi/coke, you can take the label off, cut the bottom out & leave the cap on for a nice humidity dome. Just let the clones breath a couple of times a day & you should be okay
