First Grow! Lets Go!

Trimming is not my favorite part of growing Lol, i got (3) good sized jars. The smaller bushier pheno was the best, it stinks, its sticky, kinda terpentine smell. The larger pheno was nice, not as sticky not as stinky.
They were too dry, my guess mid to low 50’s

Big Ol’ pile of keef which is nice, whole bunch of shake thats pretty frosty for hadh when im bored

One jar is all the good pheno, the other jars are split into big buds and smaller edible material

Im very happy with this grow, i learned a whole lot and hopefully my next grow will be as much fun, im not going to complete this journal until i smoke a joint of the stinky terpentine buds.

I just did a nice one hitter of the fresh keef, lmfao….look, i’ve smoked all linds of shit, thai stick, hash(all shades), but this stuff is mind numbing :laugh: What a nice smell when i xhale…….things have quieted down, i cleaned out the 4x4, just waiting on my slowish seedlings to get going. Im rreally digging my little vegge tent, smaller the tent, the less stable it is. My 4x4 was very stable heat and RH wise. Im rambling……

I'm wondering why you think they're too dry? Did you put a hygrometer in the jars? It should read low at first, then come up as the moisture comes out of the middle of the buds.

Also, did you calibrate your hygrometers? I bought a 12 pack of those cheap ones and some were 15% off or more. I calibrate to 75% in wet salt.

I bought cheapies too, but i put em in my little vegge tent and they were pretty accurate as to what my ac infinity was measuring. Two jars are at 55% and the third jar is at 58%, im good with that, the curing thread i started was very confusing.
It was very different from what i’ve been reading.

To burp or not to burp when im in the 50’s, thats the question Lol

How do you calibrate your meters, can you calibrate the cheapies ??

I use Grove bags, so no burping. Hopefully someone else can answer that. If it were me I would still burp occasionally.

I put my hygrometers in a sealed contained with damp salt which should read 75%. The Govees I can calibrate. The cheap ones I just write on them (-4, +6) so I know how off they are.

Ok, im not going to beat a dead horse, but…..

I’ll wait a few weeks before i try out a bud ? My initial thought was get the buds down to 60%, jar em m, and let nature take its course and disolve the sugars and veggy matter taste…. ?????

Look up Grove bags, they're a polymer bag that keeps humidity at 60%, preserves terpenes, and blocks UV. I've never used jars. I have bud in grove bags from my first harvest and it is still getting better.

Hello, Awesome looking frosty nug, 70s!
Your plants were really beautiful. I wish I had space for a curing room. It's so arid where I live it's almost impossible to humidify. I've never heard of Grove bags. I just tried bodeva packs 60% on my Hindu Kush that I harvested. I think they may have absorbed some moisture too fast. Nugs are dry but give a little and the stem bends. I dunno. I'm glad I stopped by. Always learning something around here.

Thanx for stopping by, it was an amazing process. A nail biter at times, but in the end i learned a bunch, and i got a bunch of great smelling buds !

The humidity is rising day by day, one jar hit 60%, so i let out some stale air, at least for the first month or so, loosened up the buds checked em out, the smaller bushy pheno smells amazing, the other pheno not so much….
Approx 3/4lb both plants
 
Ok i ground up a bud and rolled a joint, its super gooey, but lit and smoked well. Caved my head it for sure, quite spacious i would say, im either tired or its a couch type pheno. It needs to cure, it was a little grassy which i expected. It was super fresh though when i was breaking up the bud the smells are all there, very nice strain indeed……..
