Actually, maybe I should defoliate a bunch of leaves for better airflow... D'oh...

I trimmed away a lot of fan leaves for better circulation and the humidity is down to 50% so I feel safe from rot so I guess I will let them go a bit longer.

Some folks (me and Van Stank for two) start pulling the fans from the buds before harvest to make trimming easier at chop. That might help here as well.

Thanks, Shed. I took some more leaves today and now I feel confident letting them go a bit longer and not worrying about rot and yes, it should be easier when harvest time comes.

I took a few pics today expecting to see more cloudiness and Amber and instead they seem more clear with less Amber so I don’t know when these things are going to be ready. Resin Seed Company says that this Cannatonic strain should take 8 to 10 weeks but I am already at 10 weeks and five days. I know that company recommendations are generally scoffed at but I just wonder how long this thing will take. I am thinking I will just chop at 12 weeks maximum no matter how they look. Enough is enough, LOL.

You may want to find another hobby while you wait for this to finish! Still, a lot can happen in a week and change...

Sounds like time to break out the knitting needles!! :high-five: :ciao:

11 Weeks of budding today.

Still lots of clear; does anyone bud for more than 12 weeks?

12 weeks is not unheard of for some sativa strains. Longer even. I'm not seeing amber or even that much cloudy, but I'd take a tester bud (or even pluck a calyx), do a quick dry, and see how you like it in terms of effect and how long it lasts.

This is a strain that is 50% sativa. According to the breeder this is supposed to be an 8 to 10 weeks strain but since I am on week 11 with so much clear I’m wondering if this is one of those fabled strains that don’t get cloudy and Amber like most do? Just a thought.

I really don’t smoke and since this is a high CBD strain I really don’t know what kind of effect I would even be looking for if I did smoke a little but maybe I will give it a try just for fun.

I found this following text on the website that makes this strain and I was wondering if your Cannadida is the same in that the percentages vary greatly? Kind of annoying that you don’t know how much CBD you are at getting because it varies so much plant to plant. If the Cannadida is more consistent I think I may change my CBD strain.

“As about half of the population will be near 1:1 CBD:THC, and another quarter to be high CBD low THC, one can expect 75% of Cannatonic seed to be CBD-rich, which can be declared when levels of CBD are higher than 4%. Also as the remaining quarter will be high THC low CBD, the ability to find a recreational strain with a potent high that recreates the flavor and resin content of the original HTCC award-winning strain is also present. Essentially, as the 3 most desired cannabinoid ratios are present in this strain, one can also mix and match the strains to find the optimal medicinal response. If all 3 main chemotypes, or the the entire harvest, is combined and used to make cannabis oil, the end result is a oil of a 1:1 average.”

Jesus you need a degree in math to work that out. Here is the Candida information from the breeder:

"In testing THC levels have never yet exceeded 1% and CBD levels have tested between 11% and 20%.

"Candida will noticeably produce two different phenotypes: a sativa and an indica. Initial research has suggested that the sativa phenotype will produce lower, whispier yields often associated with sativa strains. We have noticed to date that the sativa pheno produces higher CBD counts. In comparison, the indica pheno will produce bigger, denser yields with lower CBD levels but still with significant CBD content."

She should continue to build as she matures, is she still drinking?

I would say she is drinking less because the topsoil seems to stay wet longer than a few weeks ago. I also stopped giving her nutes about a week or more ago because i thought it was almost done.

Hmmmm. I may switch to Candida then since the CBD is between 11 to 20% because with the Cannatonic you can get the pheno with 1% CBD.

She's still got a ways to go yet, never consider breeders timeline.

That is what I keep reading but there ought to be a law for false advertising, lol. I will let it go to 12 weeks and see how it looks then and make a decision.

Exactly. I'm going to replace my store-bought CBD oil with the Candida, and I may get it tested to see what the percentage is. My two plants are practically identical so I would image the CBD percentages would be similar.

I would be interested in where you get it tested. Because with the Cannatonic I don't know what I have.
