First Grow, Deep Water Culture, Northern Lights, Pics

I don't think they disapprove of the blooms nutes. When I have the money, I'm gonna go grab some more lights to stick in there. For now, I think they're doing ok though! I got pistols everywhere. My two runts even have some stuff forming.

(Haha, I know. I go pic crazy...)

Also, got a question: Does anyone have some kind of calculator for General Hydroponics' liquid pH down? I ran out of the powder pH down that came with my system and this is what my hydro store had.

Lookin great babe, Thats funny i just ran out of pH stuff too i went to my hydro store yesterday got pH up and down more flower nutes an illuminated microscope for 10 bucks but that pH up and down is the exact same stuff i got. My guy at the store told me just use a lil at a time untill you get a feel for it. You should check out my profile in a lil if your up lol i will be uploadin some of my girl.

Thank ya!

I'm used to the powdered pH down that says "use x amount for x gallons." This stuff says "use and check," which kind of sucks when I don't have a pH meter. lol

I need to pick up a microscope myself. I thought about just slicing a piece off when the time comes and hauling it up to my school's open lab for a look (and prob some pictures) under the good microscopes...lol. But if I can find a microscope that cheap that'll get the job done, I won't bother with that.

Yeah i dont have a meter either just keepin it within range ill be better off next grow. I wouldnt slice a piece of says you dont want to do that early cause it may effect your yield i would just go to any hydroponic store and ask them for thier cheapest microscope what i did and i tried it on some bud i got from family in AZ and works great can see everything

As far as I know there is no calculator. I'm pretty sure it would be troubling to create. A lot of the PH down dosage requirement are relative to what's already in the water. For instance my hard tap water requires a lot of PH down just to get it from the 7.6 ph with a ppm around 500 to a growable range.

Here's what I do. First time you use it will be trial and error. Measure your starting ph. For about every 1.0 of movement needed (say from 7.1 to 6.1) my dosage is about 5ml or 1 tsp per gallon. What I would want you to do is kind of sneak up on it. If you need PH down start with about 5ml/1 tsp. for the whole tank. Test and see what that does. Based on what you find you should be able to add it at about 1 tsp at a time until you get the right dosage. Don't be afraid to play with it. If you add a bit too much you can dump and add the volume back.

Now once it's in the res and you are between res changes, if you need to adjust use that same tsp at a time. It's better to add small doses to get the ph under control than large doses. The water reacts to the big dosage with a "Boing" and fight to get it higher again. If you do it a little at a time you deminish the reaction and eventually it settle down.

Thank you! I did just that and I've been playing with it (in small doses) since I got the stuff and I seem to be getting the hang of it now.

Thank you very, very much. I wouldn't have made it this far without the great advice I've received from this community. I can put in the work but I won't get very far without knowledge and that's what the people here have given me.

Thanks for following my thread and your words of encouragement. They're appreciated greatly.
