First Grow - 4x4 - 1000W MH/HPS - DWC

11/11 UPDATE:

Here is an update everyone, they are going strong. I added Cal/Mag to the other two buckets (5ml each), also upped the voodoo juice (added 10ml per bucket (total voodoo juice 15ml now)). Also added the regular dosage of z7 (1.3ml per bucket). I am going to let them ride on the nutrients now for another week and not add anything else except the regular dosage or z7 every 3-4 days.

GSC: ph 5.8:: rez 69F:: ppm 280-300:: some small roots coming out of net pot

Subbed! Your setup (and thread title) looks very similar to mine- 4x4 grow tent, 1000w HID, DWC, good stuff! I will be super excited to follow your grow because my next grow might be autos too. :cheertwo:

What plans do you have for training techniques? I know conventional wisdom says not to top autos, but with DWC and a powerful light the plants grow so fast that it could recover easily (I would think).

Either way, great work so far, you are meticulous and skilled in your work and I look forward to watching your babies grow up!

In my last post there's a link at the bottom. I found it a very useful page, you may find a match for the bad leaves. I've seen many seedlings stress, causing the first set to discolour. Best bet just keep an eye out for progression of symptoms. And keep up the good work! Noticing an issue before is becomes a real problem.

Hey frizz, thanks for checking my grow out, I'll have to check your out since we are damn near doing the same thing haha.

For training I'm planning on topping here very soon, probably gonna top on day 14 (which is this Monday). What I have read, is that by topping autos early right at the point of explosive growth...they do not even notice and barely slow down. It's when you do it to late...they do not recover much or immediately start to flower.
I also plan on LSTing after I have topped them. Other than those two things, gonna let them grow wild :).

I am basically following TheBeasts model to auto topping; he is a member here that really seems to know his way around topping autos.

Idk if I have much skill yet, but I am definitely meticulous lol. Appreciate the kind words and interest!

It almost looks to me, like the spots are healing up now...the darkness is fading to yellow where the spots are. But I'm constantly checking if it is growing/spreading. My light was sort of uneven and was leaning toward that plant more than the other so I adjusted it to spread even light now also. Will keep y'all up to date if anything is looking funny

Good morning Y'all!

Just a quick little morning update, will update again this afternoon as well.

The biggest plant so far (WWxBB auto) was just topped at the third node. Hopefully, I did it right lol, I guess time shall tell.

**Did some more big things today! Went ahead and topped the GSC, she took it well I think:

**Also, I upped the light intensity from 50% to 75%, now we are cooking! Over the last 12 hours the temp from the switch has risen about 5 degrees (77F to about 82F), but with colder temperatures outside around the corner I am not to worried about these temps at this time. But I will be keeping close eye on it, do not worry.
I moved the light up as well to compensate, don't wanna burn them. The light height is about 2.5ft away from tops of the plants, using a temp gun, top of plants are about 82F~.

Gotta love that company...great products, reasonable prices! I have the same tent as well :laughtwo:

So, DankDuo your babies look amazing! So much better than mine at that stage, I left them under weak windowsill light as seedlings so they stretched a bit. Yours look sturdy and compact, and seem to have taken very nicely to the topping. Very nice work so far, also that taproot is going to set off some serious growth in your WWxBB! :goodjob:
 
Thanks Frizz! It seems like they have taken the topping like a champ. We will see for sure over the next few days though. If they do well, by Friday, I will add some more nutes and see how they do, slow and steady, but I also want them to have everything they need at the right times so there is no stunting.

I honestly thought my babies were gonna stretch more, that is why I planted them so deep in the net pots (I was planning on the stem stretching some and covering it up with rocks), but they all have seem to want to be bushes, which is fine by me =). The WWxBB is already pressing against the sides of the bucket lol. I assume its from the MH 500w being on them since a few days after popping out of Rapid Rooters, they never had a need to stretch for light.
