Yep,
Just keep them floating in the water, in a sock or something so they don't break apart. Then remove the dunk packs when you mix your nutes. and feed!! voila. Then rinse and refill buckets and throw the dunk packs back in. simple as pie.
Another thing to think about is Fungus Gnats are there because of fungus and mold, so it's possible that you might be over feeding, or your RH is too high.. address these 3 things and you should be rock solid..
One more thing don that might help with the gnat thing.
If you have hydroton or hydrocorn, or even lava rocks (like I use.)
Put a layer of this on top of the soil, as well as the bottom when transplanting.
It will keep the Gnats from getting into the soil to lay eggies.
like a barrier.
Also helps a lot when watering, as it distributes the flow of water around the top of the medium better..

Great!! FG!! Remember\7 I used SNS 203 and my FG problems went away. I have not seen one since. Its organic as well.

thanks for the info.
i contacted sns a while back about some free samples, they told me they cant ship anything to me as they dont have the right license to sell outside their country so i cant use nothing they sell,
as for the mold and fungus i have been thinking about this, now the compost i use is full of small bits of wood and stuff like that so the soil is full of stuff that would be nice food for gnats, might have to try another brand of compost,
ill order some dunks off ebay and give those a try, they should be ok till i can throw this soil out and start again,
i have even though about boiling the soil i have left in bags, would it be worth me filling a bucket up with the compost the pouring in boiling water, now this may damage the nutrients in the soil but as bpn can be used without soil then this would give the plants all it needs, i know growers cook their compost in the oven before use as well, i did try drowning them i took one of my 2ltr pots and placed it in water so it was swimming in water over night, i drained the water off and dug down into the soil and these gnats where still alive, so i boiled the kettle and poured boiling water through the soil, i drained it all out after melting the pot the soil was in and i can not find a single living gnat in the soil,
would boiling the soil work at solving the problem,
ill try and order some dunks now

it seems they only sell them in the USA, fleebay dont list any in my country, every single one on their is listed from the states, looks like i wont be getting none, delivery costs more than the dunks, ill check my local garden center this week and see what they got,

i hear you can create a fatal dose that will pretty much kill everything...including you, so be careful if you try this method

I haven't used any yet...but i used a microwave..my mix didn't have any nutes in it...i wonder what it did to the Perlite...miked it 3 min...on high...

hi all, hope you had a great xmas
happy new year everyone, sorry i not been on here recently but my flat got flooded so had to move into a friends house, but back now,
my grow is still on managed to keep everything in flower, got plenty of plants in flower now, its the most ive had, the 2ltr hempie has turned into a moster, harvested one, got 20g dry from that one, nice smoke as well, but this one is getting really fat, the buds all ready 3 times fatter than anything ive harvested before, the buds like crazy as well, its like its flower then the flowers have flowered and they have just been getting fatter and fatter, so i think ill hit an oz with this one, ill take some pics and show you all,
the auto purple i harvested got me 33g dry, not bad for an auto, nearly doube what i got off my other autos, but wait till you see the size of my auto hash plant, this plant should easily smash an oz, again ill post the pics,
got clones ready as well, growing well, some of the ak47 cross uk cheese i bred i planted 2 and 2 are growing so as this was a male and female from the same strain then im hoping the buds will turn out the same,
i cant get any mosquito dunks in this country, or if you can i cant find them, not even on fleebay, lost another 2 seeds to them gnats larvae, the 2046 might survive but not holding much hope, it did not sprout after 4 days, so i dug down gently and found the tap root been eaten, pulled the seed out the soil and had to put it in paper towel to try and get it back to life, not holding much hope as it looks like its all ready dead, the other was a kandy kush seed, nothing left when i dug it up just an empty shell again, so not doing anything else till i get rid of all the old soil, is not worth it, ill just start again once flowered what i got,
ill do an update today or tomorrow as im out for dinner tomorrow and at my moms so will be going out for dinner, ill try and get it done when i get back,

I had the same problems with some of my seeds. Blue cheese and La Conf. Im guessing it was the soil also. I was using FF Ocean when this happened. Never again ill I use that stuff. Cant wait to some bud pictures DP!

I have not had a problem with FFOF yet. Sure hope I do not! I have used it on 6 plants so far. My only issue has been the serious drop off of P after a month. Easily fixed but really the only issue I have. I use it for my seedlings. One point to make is that all 6 plants have been autos. Just my two cents!

I think my issue with it was the nematodes thats in it. They ate the tap root before it could get started. I didnt bake my soil as ive heard that was the thing to do. I always add bone meal to my coco/soil lots of it.

glad to see all is pretty much under control despite natures best efforts, lol.
i too am suffering a massive gnat infestation, but i managed to end it pretty fkin sharpish with tanlin / nilnat
it drops tiny crystals in the soil that the larva eat up and then they explode its stomach
the flies themselves are harmless but annoying, when i fixed my soil i attacked any fliers i could find with the hoover. i know that the next generation is about to eat itself to death, but still no sense letting the little bastards breed and consuming more of those crystals than needed, that crap is expensive =/
nice to see you pushing the numbers up on autos.
shame my first crop is ruined and may not even make it to sexing (they are now smaller than the crop started 2 weeks later)
im waiting on these bad boys to flower so i can end this myth that autos are shit yielders
pretty sure that with the right auto you can match or come pretty damn close to a reg in the same space/time frame

Wiz I have to agree with spring. So far I've started over 20 seeds in FFOF with no trouble at all. I love that stuff, it keeps your plants all lush and healthy till week 5. My mini-experience with FFOF is A1.

Really sorry to hear about the flooding mate - I hope it was just a burst pipe or something and not related to all the rain and floods over Christmas - clean water's bad enough but rain and river water's a proper shit.
Regarding the soil and all these bugs, could you sterilise the soil before planting the seeds? Microwave a bowl of it for a few minutes, or steam it. It shouldn't damage the soil or the nutrients contained in it, but it will kill any bugs, their eggs and larvae. Once it's cooled down you can plant the seed and it will save you having to chuck otherwise good soil away and buy more.
