First Aquafarm Hydro Grow

I take measures pH and EC first day after changing res, then every two days .. usually it's pH up, EC stays the same
I only adjust pH when it rises above 6,4 but normally by that time I change the res again.
Except I didn't last week, I decided to top up instead of changing out..

as a momentary fix, I put the hose of the airpump in the res.. this way it blows bubbles in the res water.

I do wonder though.. my plants aren't that big.. the root system is easily twice the size, as it fills out the whole area of clay pebbles, and the expansion into the nutrient res is almost the same amount of roots.
I hope this will translate into big buds, but I'm not sure..

For the next grow I'm going to make sure it's DWC ready from the get go.. and make sure temperature is way more constant

That's what I was hoping for :D but I think my internodes could be shorter, plants better spread out, better light exposure, better nutrient management.. I'm pretty sure I could have done better, and made some mistakes.. and to scrog or not.. although I somehow managed to get a pretty even bushy plant without nets. most friends grow plants that grow tall.
I don't know, I'm just impatient :) I want to know how this turns out.. if it can fill out the buds to a nice size.
and except for the week of pk13/14 I'm not using any extra boosters

I've seen the words bantered around these forums quite a bit.... "mass of roots = mass of foliage"
AKA.... the bigger your roots, the bigger your plant.
One more tidbit here.... if you think your roots are big now, do things right and watch what happens. This should be fun to witness. Love me some newbie discoveries.

haha.. well that could be.. my plants are pretty dens in foliage.; they are just not .. big?
and yes, get things right from the start.
Now how about those crawfish. :p

Nice bud stacking going on. :bravo: :adore:
sorry I have not been in to check much lately but so many journals so little time.
Everyone here has so much to show and so many things to be able to learn, sometimes it is overwhelming to me.
I need to figure out how to use the folder option so I can keep track of every journal I am subbed to so I can keep this old brain in check

This would actually be a drawback of this hydrosystem.. if something is contaminated well it's gonna spread real quick.
Still don't know if something is up.. I'll upload some pictures later but well I don't know if you can tell.
just some roots are not as white as the others..
I don't like..
As the plants have still a long way to go.. the strain is supposed to have a 7-8week flowering period..
well if this is from starting 12/12 this isn't going to be the case.. if it's from the first signs of flowers, maybe

ugh, as I thought, the pictures don't tell the story..
I'd need a non automatic camera and different light to capture the subtle differences
which I guess is good? it's not that bad yet that it shows up clearly with the handycam

but well I still think something is up..the white roots are definitely stronger and smell different than the ones with the tint.
but I wouldn't say they smell bad..
maybe it's just staining?
The plants themselves, they have a strong rhubarb smell :)

seriously on the picture you think they are all the same..
I'm just gonna soldier on, keep an eye on them

Well being new it's still easy, mostly reading, and I get notifications from the threads I've posted in, sure if you really get into the forum, this place probably is endless :)

You like the bud stacking? I guess it's okay, I think it could be tighter.. thing is, when I had buds like that in plants I grew with sunlight here, well It was always very hard to get them to fill out properly, it would be too cold, or too wet, or too little good sunlight left.
Well the strain is a cross of big bud & skunk so I hope that big bud thing will shine through :)

Yeah pump and airstone will be here tomorrow..
but well shouldn't the roots in the clay pebbles be watered occasionally? or they moist enough from drawing the res upwards? wouldn't they become more branche like?

Oh I might be getting some philips pro horti leds.. they are strips about 1,5 meter long.
I was thinking putting those vertical in the corners of the tent.. that way I wouldn't have to worry about coverage or light penetration..

You could top feed the upper roots with a cup of your solution poured over the top, or continue as you have been, but keep,a very close eye on what's going on down below. When you get it together and aerating the roots, run the air pump to them full blast. You are way too close to harvest to,want to fight rot root now.
