Ok I picked up this sunshine mix 4 at the hydro store today its suppose to be good stuff. It is a soiless medium and seems to be real light and airy.As you can see I also bought a small bag of perlite lol. My question is should I still mix in more perlite or use it as is?

I understand that's the shit. The 58 of the industry, the standard. Do a search on it. You should find tons of user info.

I looked around and found some good news on the sunshine mix 4. Still not sure if I should put more perlite in it or not so I am just going to do it at about 15-20%. I will have super drainage.:slide:

I know when I watched a bunch of the Advanced Urban Gardner videos on youtube, that seemed to be the mix everyone was using. I also see it refered to in almost every publication I read. I just don't do soil, so I have no clue what the percentage is. Probably be hard to screw up though. It will just change your watering schedule.

I run 100% coco coir. Some of the cuts I have in 1 gallons have about 30% perlite mixed in. So far, I like it, but since my 3 gal pots are already prepped with 100% that's what they're getting this round.

We shall see. I hear a bunch of great stuff hopfully I will be one of the sucess stories. I have the clones I cut a while back about to go into 3 gallon with the sunshine mix 4 here in the next couple days. Then thery are gonna veg for 1 more week under the new 1000 watt. I will be putting pics of them up tonight. I feel I hurt my grow using crap wal mart soil on my scrog cause the soil is all hard and the water seems to run down the sides alot, but I have catch trays and it soaks all the water back up. But the ph has been a constant battle. The sunshine says it is PH from 5-7 so thats cool for me better than jumping up to almost 8.

Yea, you learn where you can cheap out real quick. I always try to go with an established standard. I looked for #4 in my area and couldn't find it.

What strength are you feeding 1/2, 3/4 full or full+? I found myself going too easy on the nutes on my first few rounds, then diagnosing the first defeciency to show up and treating it. Now, I try to get to full strength as soon as I can and see 0 defeciencies. I also find myself monitoring the ph and ec of the water going in and out.

Alright well a couple of guys I served with went down and got their mmj licence and they like what I grow so they asked if I could be their caregiver and grow their meds for them as well. I have their documentation hanging in the room so I am suppose to be cool from them boys from putting shiny bracelets on me. Here are pics of the clones I cut from the scrog for round 2. I call it Spiderpigs Return of the Scrog. I cant wait to put these bad boys in their new 3 gallon grow bags and Sunshine mix #4 with pelite added and them slap them under the new 1000 watt :slide:

You know bro I have always used full strength and added a little superthrive for the roots.I hit them now with nutes full strengh 2x then on the third watering molasis 2tblsp per gallon and 1/2 nutes because when I run straight molasiss I seem to get alot of yellowing. Somtimes I will add a little more Big Bloom then called for.

love the under pics. did you do the majority of the pruning all at one time? or a little here a little there type pruning for the fan leaves etc.
how many clones did you take?

I spaced out the trimming you know take a lil from each plant every couple of days.I find it best to not do it all at once to prevent the growth from stunting.I also topped the scrog plants. I wont be topping the next round though only LST.I have put a pretty nasty bend almost breaking about 3 in up the main stem to make them grow in an L bend. They seem to respond well to this. It seems when I put a bend there is an explosion of growth almost over night and they get super strong where the bend is and form a knot. The amount of tops I can see forming is awsome and I diddnt top so I should still get the main thick cola or at least I hope so we will see.
