I am with Feral on watching the leaves for nutes and watering but in flower I don't let the soil get as dry as in veg. Just because it will stunt them slightly if they go totally dry, after stretch root development slows to a crawl so letting them dry out isn't necessary to promote vigorous root growth. You pretty much are stuck with the roots you have after stretch.
As far as nutes go I kinda like to push a bit so I ramp up till I see burn then back off a bit, and watch for deficiencies then ramp up again and back off a bit when I see nute burn again. If I'm using bottles I use the corresponding nutes to the phase of plant of course but with organics I just take away some and add in other stuff depending on the phase. I have some home made organic nutes cooking up right now so we will see how that goes.

Everything looks amazing as always. My pH meter broke last night. It sucks!!! I usually have a back up one BC they do go out a lot on people like me, I kinda abuse my stuff. But I got a new one coming Friday. So from now till then it's eye dropper test till then. But I must say your garden looks amazing as always. I use those same yo-yos you are, they work great. Right now they are actually being used to spread my flowering girl out so some lower colas can get light penetrating thru. I did defoil a lil but I like to keep my armor and food source. I am thinking about running a new nute line my local hydro shop is gonna be doing a special on it this month. I'll send you a picture of the box shortly and would love your opinion. Hope all is well happy growing brother

Thanks mate :) ah sux about the PH meter, was it an expensive one? im pretty rough with all my equipment too, can safely say though that the bluelab pens are strong as shit, if i cant break it nobody can :rofl: the yoyo's are new, bought 20 of them and about half are broken :rofl: i had to message the seller and ask wtf was going on, they are sending more out once their holidays are over :thumb: with defol its all down to what you feel comfortable with, can never do too little defol :) Im always up for new nutes, have run about 5 different ones since growing indoors, quite happy with the GH range though :thumb:
 
The 24k gold is a stunning little bush. Youve got heaps of tops on there bro, well done.
It's hard to pick a favourite out of your plants, theyre all looking mint.

While were on the subject of roots, i use to use potting mix, and never will again. It
worked quite well but we had an infestation of scriarids once and they ate all
the roots of a bunch of plants. Big strong mature plants getting pulled out at harvest
and not a root left on them. Basically just pulling bare stalks out of the pots.

Best thing ive found for root growth is stepping up pot sizes, not just starting in a
big pot. My roots are at a level, by the time they hit theyre final pot size
that if something wants to eat them they better have a big appetite. If you
can get the roots big and healthy enough theyre pretty resilient to most things.

I like to try to think of it as the foundation and spend a lot of time at the
start trying to get the plants to build/take a good foothold.

Anyone that follows my journal knows i'm a bit obsessed with root growth.
Probably more so than the growth of the plant, at the start anyway.

Using straight coco was the best move i made, the roots just seem to go crazy.

Each pot size was a few inches bigger all round, theyd fill the new pots
after about 6/7 days. This was also with weak cuttings that i wasnt
happy with at the start. If the clones where strong, them pots would be
even more filled.

Be interesting to see what theyre like at the end when i let them out
of the 5gal fabric pots.

Edit- Just for anyone playing at home there where 19 days between the first
photograph and the last.

GH products are all I currently run. From the 3 part series with diamond nectar, cal-mag, armor si, floralious plus, pH up and down, the only non GH is earth juice hi-brix, S.o.S, mammoth p and this is the first run that I am trying the Fox farm 3 part bud booster. It's a powder so I add it right after micro and Si. So that it desolves quickly when I.am done mixing my brew

Im hanging to get the 24k into flower, she stinks, going to be some awesome weed :) Always welcome to post pics and info around here mate :thumb: Im with you on the up potting, i do the same, always start in a small pot and work my way up, almost letting them become root bound between ;) had quite a few issues with root rot when i was younger, main issue was pot was too big and root mass was pretty much non existant, constant waterings and no roots to suck it up left the soil almost waterlogged, learnt my lesson pretty quickly :rofl:

Sounds very similar to what im running :) using the whole GH line apart from armor si and rapidstart, using DM silica and Great White instead :thumb:

Im just hoping the new yoyo's get here within a week or so, defo going to need a lot of support on this one :)
 
To start in a big pot.. water soil wet, then never /ever water that seedling again..
 
Your probably right grizz. The other thing i do is use ph'd water with nutes in it
to rehydrate the coco bricks. Makes the roots "want" to go into the new media when theyre
potted up. Thats what i reckon anyway ;p

I like the addition to the tent, you weren't kidding when you said you need a bigger custom space to grow in, looks like some high ceilings are in order.

thanks red ;) new space will definitely be fully custom, plan on going from floor to ceiling from the start, should give me around 8ft at the lowest point, none of this frankentent stuff :rofl: still need to keep saving to build something yet, got my eye on a shed but thats around 6 grand :rofl:
