Feral's Journal Of Insanity & Some Growing

I've had a few autos hit the 5-6oz mark and the smoke was damn good but theyre hit or miss and i think im gonna do what you were talking about, Feral, and just grow em outside so im not wasting tent space. Those Mephisto and Dutch Passion autos have caught my eye a few times tho. Seen some monstrous autos from both those places.
 
Mephisto Genetics are fantastic. Two English dudes who are growing out of Spain. I am growing 3 different strains of theirs at the minute. I am really looking forward to seeing how they pan out. Their Sour Crinkle is absolutely flying.
 
Ive read of some breeders selecting to F4's for all the good traits and then crossing to normal plants for early season flowering that sounded interesting for outdoors growers, but i dont know enough to explain how that works... above my pay grade im afraid... lol

Yea its pretty confusing.. i tried reading about how mephisto breeds their seeds on their site and lost interest half way through. There's a lot that goes into it and if they work that hard i bet their genetics are top notch. I just ordered some and will do an auto sog my next grow.. super excited for that.
 
Yeah its a bit mind boggling trying to get your head around breeding autos :rofl: I just think its a lot of work for something that cant be kept, working with regular breeding and stabilising them is very similar in workload but if you do find that something special it can be cloned and used over and over again, autos are run once and kill which makes selections a lot harder if using them to breed ;) The Mephisto autos should be top notch and they do it right, its not often you see me praising an auto seed company :passitleft:

Speaking of auto's, I just won some Dark Devil autos from The Vault Seedbank :rofl: :rofl:

I only run autos while I change mothers out i have had the same 4 mothers for close to a year took a lot of clones and flowered them so much but right now I want some great fresh genetics in my garden and the right auto is worth it check these two out and I am running red poison also that is close cut to dark devil

Yeah you have to wait for the seeds to mature before harvest, about 4 weeks or you will see a lot of half formed seeds ;) When harvesting just harvest as any other plant, hang dry for about a week or two until crispy so its easier to break up and separate the seeds from the flower, if I do it at a week after harvest I then leave the seeds out in the open for another week before putting into a sealed container, 2 weeks dry should be good to go straight into a sealed container :thumb:

Yeah man they should be ready to go, once they are ready for containers :thumb: they would probably sprout straight away with no cure but no good for storing or they will go moldy ;) ive found the best germination is once they have lost the green coloring :thumb:

I don't know man, maybe I just haven't found a good one yet :rofl: ive grown about 5 so far, you would think id find something decent amongst them but even the decent yielder (for an auto) was fluffy, well not exactly fluffy but they just don't stack like a photo plant, they are weird things if you ask me :rofl:
 
Plus there's no point to them when growing in a tent.. short season outdoor plants, all they should be used for.. for rec, doesn't have same terpenes or thc% from the corresponding photo period plants, so pointless.. lots here seem to suck up advertising like they reading the bible.. don't believe the hype folks, its bullshit..

For sure man, only reason I'm growing them was they were free and just sitting there, I aint going to waste any power on them :rofl:
Got some great news back from The Vault, I told them I don't like autos and they said they would replace them with some RQS and Barneys beans :)


Awesome man, thanks for the heads up, I will let some others get in on it, already won and given so many free seeds lately its nuts, my collection is already out of control :rofl: :rofl:
