Feral's Journal Of Insanity & Some Growing

Thanks mate :) I'm hoping I can take the sour diesel right to full length this time, in the flower tent she was cut 3 weeks early due to mold so never really reached her potential, kicking ass this time round, even though it will be full of seeds soon  will still be enough to see if its worth keeping or tossing ;) Atomic is one of my favs, the thing is just bright white pistils, very good for stealth as it has hardly any smell but don't let that fool you, overdo it and it will knock you out  cant wait to try the bulk, I have tried not to spread too much pollen her way as she should be just about done, will give me a sneak peek of what I'm going to expect from the big girl :)

My advice if using a net would be not take them too far with topping, maybe 2-3 times and continue to tuck for about 2 weeks into stretch, let them go for the third week and stretch should be close to finishing up, should end up with some awesome colas and a full net :) with my space I'm trying to maximize both vertical and horizontal space in my tent, when using a net you are trying to fit as much in at the one level as possible ;) way I see it is I have more vertical space in my tent than I do horizontal so should by rights end up with a bigger yield as long as there is good light penetration :) yoyos are bloody handy things hehe, pain in the butt when setting up as many as I have but makes it all worthwhile when stringing up a droopy plant, can have a plant nice and steady in less time than it would take me to tie 2 knots in a bit of string to hold up one branch

Whole heap of veg photos :)

Starting with my favorite plant, I keep saying that  Killer Queen, the smell, should know by now I have a crappy sense of smell when it comes to these plants but if it was a chocolate id call it a dark coffee chocolate  (smells nothing like chocolate, that was just an example lol) just has a real rich heavy earthy smell to it, really cant wait to see how it smells come flower time :)

Gorilla Bomb finally got a haircut, there was more of her on the ground than whats left, didn't take any clones, there will be plenty more chances for that ;)

Orange Bubba, have been sitting here thinking to myself she just doesn't look that happy and growth could be better, some slight defs, then it occurred to me, I'm a dumbass  been in there for 3 weeks running off a week 1 mix, nothings been added but water in 3 weeks

Seedlings, both Grimace OG's have popped up :) So from the front left, left to right, row by row, 2x TH Seeds Dark Star regs, 2x Connoisseur SSSDH fems, 2x Alphakronik Omega Dawgs which have failed to pop so far, might need to crack out the heat mat, 2x Reserva Privada Skywalker Kush fems, one hasn't popped and not expecting it to, back row is 2x Archive Grimace OG regs, 2x Brothers Grimm Cinderella 99 regs and hiding up the back is a Fire OG :thumb:

I agree with you on the killer queen. She definitely looks like she has what it takes. I love coffee smelling strains. Usually means a nice narcotic stone, but that is just my experience. Doesn't mean shit actually.

That was a good few pages to catch up on. Rats are a pain in arse mate. We got
open drains around the place and theyre everywhere.didnt think of boxing them. haha
i got a slingshot and a staffy ;)

Some of the photographs are amazing and all the plants are looking great.

I cant believe that stretch a few pages back in under 4 weeks. thats crazy.

When i look at the incredible bulk i just smile. madness.

Killing it bro :thumb:

Still on about topping & SCROG - I'm cultivating monster crop clones, these i find are a bit wilder & bushier with more branching - I've only grown from regular clones one time, my first time (this cycle is only my third proper no not counting messing about ten plus years ago)

I LST to the max, proper strap those girls down with copper wire and spread em out so they easily fill the floor space & go to all corners

I've been thinking tho if when i SCROG i also let em get a little bit taller (with tight internodal spacing) then i could get even better yeild than last time (950g from four)

The buds were fat & filled the whole space but if they were a few inches taller like that then they would be even more awesome

As you can see in pics I've got some side led strips in there now as well as the top lights & led strips

Really lookin forward to seein em flower with those

Power wise there's an extra 50% again in there, have had to make sure in vents are more open and leave room window open a crack more too as temps got over 30 - down to late 20s now

Learning a lot again this time, reading and responding to plant needs

Just today I've upped feed to twice daily

They r on 1.3ec now, 1.1L one feed & 0.6L 12 hrs later
6.0pH

Might well start me a proper grow journal on here next cycle, which will b late september all going well :)

Am not gonna do any more topping now, gonna leave em a week or more then flip :)

Thanks bro ;) We used to have a slingshot here, was good fun till the kids decided to put ball bearings through all the car windows up the back  Got Jack russells here and a staffy but the one that comes inside only likes to play with them lol.
Talking about photos, man I worked out the inbuilt camera app a lot better tonight on my phone and photos are crisp as all hell, was zooming right in on clumps of trichs the lot :) can cast the pictures straight onto my 55" 4k TV too which looks fucking amazing
I'm glad Rollex finished up her stretch already, she is already at max height, I have a feeling I might need to rearrange a few colas out of the direct light though as I think it may be a bit too intense where they are, I think that was the main reason for the weird growth on 24k :thumb: Incredible bulk is nuts, she has come on strong :) looking her over tonight though her trichs still all seem clear, she may end up taking longer than I thought, should get even more swell in that time hehe ;)

I think you are doing a real good job mate :thumb: awesome news on the journal, let me know when you start it so I can tag along :) cant wait to see them after you flip, going to get bushy real fast hehe :passitleft:

No not at all, quite the opposite, if you look at the last Rollex OG shot I put up

When she went in 15th April ;)

Tonight
Screenshot_4290.png

Notice how long each branch is now? each branch is coming from a different node, physically impossible for them to grow together ;) that is all just from stretch, when continuously topping and holding them back they explode with growth as soon as they hit flower ;) all topping stops about a week or so before flower :thumb:

That's how I did my vanilla kush and it looks just like one of your plants, I actually had to pull my longest branch to the side, got a lil heat stress from my LEC

Thanks bro :) I don't know what it is about it but the plants absolutely love it, when they go to flower they go nuts  very easy to maintain plants with the method too after a few times and getting used to it :) Cant wait to see that vanilla fill right in up them stems, C99 should work well too, from memory you got the same one I ran last time ;) Last night Brothers Grimm dropped their feminised line, Cinderella XX and Apollo XX, should be available at attitude within a couple of days along with a few new reg crosses :thumb:

whole heap of pics from the flower tent and pollen tent last night, tbh I cant be bothered sorting them so all mixed together today  gotta get this greenhouse up today, have had 6 Atomic x Sour Diesels pop up so far and one is already looking exceptional for a tiny seedling :thumb:

Start saving pat, theyre worth it mate imo.

Great effin update as usual feral. foot long toddlers fist. love it.

Interesting thing, i thought the phillips globes where made in Europe
somewhere. When i was setting the tent up and pulling the globe out
it had MADE IN CHINA written on it hmmmm....

Anyway, the question i've got running through my head is do we get more
yield from letting em go nuts or doing a true scrog, where everything is low and flat?
I'm doing a mix at the moment of both of our styles. and the plants look great
mind you.

Maybe you should patent the style feral, haha, trademark.

FERALSBEANSTALK.tm :laughtwo:

i'll be interested to see what my babies do that have just been put in flower.
I've never put such scrawny, untrained plants into flower.

WP_20170510_16_09_27_Pro.jpg

Any ideas feral? i was just gonna repot them up again soon and let
them go. What do you reckon they'll do? at a guess?
I'm not hoping for the numbers i normally get but hoping for
a few oz at least.

Any input would be great.

Cheers

Should start saving up for some of them lights

For sure mate, they are an awesome bit of kit :) then again the cobs are producing some amazing results too, I think its pretty much what you prefer and whats going to suit your environment :thumb: down the track I might think about some cob lighting to help get me through summer and keep the temps down a little, can always be used in the cooler months as additional lighting :)

Thanks mate :) as far as I know phillips is a chinese company, just a lot more reliable than the cheap ones that are thrown together in a shinky factory down the road from them lol ;) tbh I think you would get better results from a mixture of methods like you say, using the net you can fit them a lot tighter together, let them go a little earlier so they grow longer colas and should be sweet, would kill it on yield imo :) I find with my method because of where they tie up to with the yoyos, they are always pulling the colas out of the direct light as you cant exactly string something through a reflector  mean a lot more gaps between colas, I have to make up for it in length of colas and amount of budsites :thumb: should at least get a few oz from them plants mate :)

Your damn sure getting some kick ass results

thanks mate :) yeah getting amazing results, so happy with everything I'm running right now, I know if I have to run out and setup another tent exactly what I need to buy ;)

Looking good Feral. I can't wait to see the Killer Queen in all her glory.

Cheers.

Thanks mate :) I really hope IB finishes up on time, I'm already getting impatient to see KQ

Still haven't found any solid figures on heat output from the cmh. I'm sure they are awesome and I will no doubt have them eventually, but just cannot justify the cost ATM. In a year when my weed pays for them sure. The $10 a month power saving is neither here nor there for me. They seem to work awesome tho. My hydro store man keeps giving me the hard sell. Once they are $300-$400 I'll consider it.
