Fast Buds Fun Time Wiv Ya GanjaGrandaddy: L.O.S. V Coco Shootout

I topped both my current autos as soon as I could fit the clippers between the third and fourth node, then I trimmed off node #1 about 5 minutes later on both-there was no recovery time that I could see-by the next day,the branches had grown an inch, and within 5 days the quad training started-the Purple Punch started flowering about that time, and the other one waited 14 days to start flowering.

I don't let the fact that they're flowering change anything-if you stop training autos when they start to flower, you may as well not even start with the training- in my opinion,anyway...
excellent reply Cass thank you bud. that has cleared a nagging thought up nicely. I only wondered about the bending as a comment made a while back about just changing the auxins by allowing 2 , 3 and 4 to catch up without the topping. I even considered a really precise FIM , with same idea of catch-up while recovering to multi headed main. As I am aiming at a competitive grow it could be a good control to use 1 of the ladies in coco from the same strain. 1 of each strain is in the LOS but the other 2 are in identical coco pots. ideal opportunity maybe. Did think similar about defol v no defol as well. get the most out of the grow for the next photoperiod run ?. Love a good mess about.lol

Day 4 : All the pots seem to be housed by happy girls so far. The watering 2 days ago is still keeping them moist so no need to add more at this early stage. The coco pots got a little sprinkle each to moisten really and avoid the dry out of the surface. I will be feeding them 2 times a day once they are off and running properly. Colours look good on them so dont look deficient in anything. hoping the tap roots have tickled the layer of Los in the big soil pots too and not showing any burn signs.

It does look like a few will be vying for the champion slot judging by the sizes on comparisons early on . I have took a few shots of each strain to hopefully have a picture worth viewing at least. this stage is so dull. Now the room has been used for a few days properly the environment has settled around 23.5 and 67% rh. The tent wall was wet one side so will need to set up an exhaust soon I think. I have not pushed air in yet and it's only passive intake so far. feels very comfortable to sit in and rhe girls seem to be happy with all their factors. Lights now about 20inches away and covering perfectly. No signs of stretching up too much and the tower fan is giving them a nice gentle workout too.
All good and a happy grower again.

Everything looks so good there! :yahoo:
Thankyou Sara. it is good to get to try the lights from the very first signs of life this run.
Today , the changes are very easy to see compared to the same time yesterday. Only 5 days old and all have started to create second node leaf tips. I am expecting this Autoflower run to be more rapid cycling but am so glad the lights have already proven their ability in flower to me and I bought them initially on the results Dutchman1990 was showing with clones/seedlings. I have lowered the lights more now to around 18" and will watch for too much intensity over the next few days. Heres a shot of them under Mars glow.

some definite growth going on and I am interested to see how the Organic pots do without adding calmag too. I will use it on the coco pots with the mineral nutes but wonder if the LOS makes enough in the soil with LED. Thanks for the visit Sara. Always a welcome here. Have a prosperous, fulfilling day.
A few more from this morning. All happy and praying to Mars

Fashionably late to the party. Would you expect any less of me. Lol.

Missed the tag. Sorry bud.
The attic looks much improved. You been busy and it shows.

Babies look super happy. I have zero experience with autos. This will be educational.

Let's grow ,baby!!!!!

Welcome aboard the rickety fun bus VG. Always a seat with reserved on for you ( not implying your quiet and held back at all.lol).
Thanks for the positives , frustrated to have to be a temporary build again but gives me a good trial run at the basic idea for it. will allow me to make improvements in the final build. Have to grab the positives.lol. I am a total newbie on these autos too but the LOS will at least take some worries off correct times to change feeds ect... set and go thankfully. I am also curious as to how soils slower growth which usually affects yield , affects autos. looking forward to testing a few things out and observing some too.
Fingers crossed.lol
have a green day

They do seems different from yesterday, haha. Hope the UK coldness not influencing their growing. :green_heart:
thanks Sara Their growth rate is excellent and they change each time I go into the grow room it seems.lol. Thankfully the insulation has done exactly what I hoped and allowed me to shut out the cold totally. With the lights running so cool below and a little heat above , it seems to be a stable 23.5°c. Humidity is at a perfect 78% too which helps with them being so young still. Plan is to switch the sp250 on when flowering begins so should be perfect for the lighting and then only relying on the autos themselves with the new living soil hopefully keeping pace for nutrient supplies. The coco will be bottle fed so wont be an issue this run I hope. Am aiming for the 1.5gpw this time too. fingers crossed.

Great it is all under control! I am sure this time we will get better yield. :D

Day 6 Veg: I am very happy with the girls progress so far. The room is settling nicely and I am getting a move between 23°C-24.5°C which I am happy with. The Rh is good for their cycle at 82% so I wont panic about drying them out while small.
There are some that are looking like leaders already. The size change between visits is still a welcome surprise each time so I am hopeful they will keep pace with each other before they start their flowering cycle. If they dont look like they will be good yields in the time , I will happily yank them and crack on with a photo run. Hoping this is not the case at all and judging by the growth spurts it wont be.lol. I still haven't fed the coco ladies yet and am using ph 6.1 as a rule in general watering. I did add some superthrive last feed but nothing else. I have noticed a couple that are now showing a very pale green ( in pics)so need to sort that. I think it is feed time for them girls maybe.? any thoughts welcome. Heres a breakdown of the girls

Looking good, GG very good. They’re off to a strong start. A few more days and they’ll be out of the traps and away.
Did a great job on that space mate. Glad to hear conditions are holding.

so here we are at the near end of their first full week above ground. The LOS and coco are not showing any difference this early as they are most likely using up those seed storwd snacks and getting busy on the coty leaves soon. The tap roots will hopefully be searching through the pots and getting the roots building too. I am concerned at how they will go from this stage to ready to begin their actual flowering stage with how tiny they still look but time will tell. The lighter leaves are not worrying me too much but I did move the lights a few inches higher again in case it was a hot spot or similar. peace and love folks

Thanks bud. hoping to get it right 1st time here lol. Always a horrible phase with such vulnerable plants in a huge room. I do like being able to move around it a bit more and as it fills out , I can set the lights in their flowering position and hit them with the extra sp250 to spread the canopy to around 7ft x5ft i reckon. let's hope i meed it all mate.lol

I think it is feed time for them girls maybe.? any thoughts welcome.
Depending on what I'm growing I usually wait for the third node to have some good growth. If I'm running autos I may start sooner if they look like they are performing well through the early days.

Thanks Mr S. I have given the. some cal mag , Superthrive and a small dose of silicon today in about 10ltres between all the pots. The coco def needed some water and the LOS niw has mulch so I only gave them a small drink to keep the top layer moist. fingers crossed it will sort itself as soon as I can feed them some coco nutes tomorrow .The paleness on the couple of girls is not worrying g me too much but I dont want to hinder them at all with so little time to correct anything. The soil pots look like they may be hitting a good stride a bit now too. only 1 of the. has the slightly paler growth. hoping it is more a watering dial in for the amounts needed. Hate this stage , especially with huge pots straight off the bat.lol
I ideally hoped for a day 21 1st feed and they are way off that yet at day 9 above soil. The coty leaves all still look wholesome and intact too. thanks for the input mate.

Day 9 veg ( above soil)
The parking isnt getting any worse so no big worry yet. They are certainly growing fast between visits and the smaller ones are catching up with the main. There are still a couple of leaders showing out so far and only the Bluedreamatic doesnt have a contender running yet.Rhey seem to be the slowest out of the stall so far. They all have equal light about so I am hoping they respond in kind for growth. lol yeah right!!!. So far still no issues to worry about. I am still letting the room breath itself with open tent zips and no extraction. Hoping the Exhale is getting busy now so some room co2 retention is not a bad thing either. Wait till these girls wake up in this new environment. It does seem to be doing well with lowest rh being around 60% and highest during lights on at approx 79%. Temps good at 21°c-23.5° in swings. Nothing too exciting to pick out so will roll out some day 8 photos. Peace and green days

Hey GG! Looking good so far buddy. Don't let the Misses squash the spider. I hide mine in the laundry pile. No one will ever find them there. I'm surprised that the laundry has not started composting itself yet lol. Nice poodle
