Day 20
We're getting close to transplant now. They're requiring fertigation daily, and I'm not going to wait until they need it twice a day. It'll be nice to have them in pots that don't require covers.
I'd also like to transplant before I top them.

DSD #33? She's hanging in there. Hopefully the transplant will help remedy the situation.
I don't have Instagram anymore, would that article be about cannabis forming thiols?

Day 21
Well, some unexpected developments overnight.
DSD #33 is now the tallest plant in the tent! Gelato is the shortest, and DSD has the beginning of a magnesium deficiency, despite the added magnesium nitrate.
I've moved DSD #33 back towards centre of the tent in case she's stretching, and I'm bumping all their feed to 1.75g/litre.

If transplanting doesn't happy up the DsD then I'm thinking flower will!
I hope so!
I don't want her moping right through to harvest!
Real nice 20 day progress Mel! DSD is awfully pretty for not going to come around I think too! She will.
Thanks Stone!

Day 22
I've started rinsing the perlite for the transplants. I may or may not have them done by this evening.

that DSD #33 is not looking happy hopefully the transplant helps & the others are looking good

What's your process that you would start it and not finish it in the same go? I just dump mine in a big plant pot and run the hose on it while I mix it with my hand. I can do about 10 gallons in 5 minutes like that.

Well, I have to do it indoors, in a 5 gallon fabric pot. Then I let it drain so the dust is at the bottom.
I have to do it in an old laundry room sink, and make do with the faucet. If I could take it outside and use the hose I would.
Actually, it's raining right now, so I think I'll put it in pots right now and let nature do it for me!

Well, that wasn't pleasant. As soon as I got out there, there was a flash of lightning. I got as far as thinking " I wond..." when the thunder hit.
The pots are out in the rain right now.
Even indoors I recommend a pot with holes at the bottom to let the dust drain out. You lose some perlite but lose a lot less time!

BTW a colander or pasta strainer in the sink works well too.
The perlite for sale up here isn't separated by size for the most part. What I have ranges from about the size of kitty litter to about the size of a pea.
A pasta strainer would let about half of it out the holes.
After the pots drain, I use what's up top, and when I get down to the stuff in the bottom I use a metal mesh strainer to rinse off what's left.
The mesh strainer is too small to use for most of it. I've tried.

One of these wouldn't let the dust through?

That would be the metal mesh strainer I mentioned. Using one of those was...a hassle.
The two we have here are both about 20cm across, and they don't hold much. It was taking waaay too long when I tried them.

Day 23
It might be hard to tell, but I didn't get around to transplanting last night.
