Experimental LED/Plasma Induction Grow

No problem.

They are probably sideways on your MAC but your viewer shows them to you right side up. I've got one pic viewer that does that for me, one that doesn't. I use Internet Explorer for a browser and pics that are sideways will open sideways in my browser if I right click the pic and select the browser for viewing. I dunno if MAC browsers will do that but it might be a way to check your pics before uploading them.

If they're branching well you might not need to top them at all. Less stress.

Here are some pics of them, this is 2.5 weeks into grow, never topped once. There are about one and a half foot each, there are two runts that are catching up finally. And the pics are right side up! I had to go and rotate them in a circle back to vertical and then save them, that seems to work even though it seems neanderthal like :tokin:

Hey Anomoly, thats cool you got your pics sorted out.

Your plants look healthy, growing fast. Not crapping on your plants, this is meant to be helpful, not insulting, but they look a little stretched. I noticed in a previous post you had pulled your lights higher to get coverage. I find with leds that too far away causes stretching and too close causes compact growth. If you adjust your lights based on what looks like good coverage you are adjusting them to suit your eyes not your plants. I don't know if the plasmas act the same when a little far from the plants. I find 8 to 12 inches works well, your mileage may vary.

DO you do any supercropping? I find one pinch close to the top of the plant seems to help them fill in when stretched. The pics you showed from your previous grow look great so if you treated them the same re light distance then what I've just posted is irrelevant, heheh.

Just offering what I hope is a helpful bit of info re leds. I think your plants look good other than a little node spacing issue. ANd that might just be camera angle.:thumb:

No offense taken at all, in fact your exactly right. I noticed last night when I opened the tent for watering that they are a little stretched but they grew so damn fast I have not even had time to look and lower the lights.:bong: Also most of these clones were already very stretched from being in high heat and low light inside the dispensary, in fact the reason I even got these was because they were pretty much at their shelf life and I got them from my buddy who just took them home from the club he works at. So I am not to surprised but I think I did let it get a little worse by raising the lights so high. I also did some supercropping last night for the first time on the very worst of the stretchers, and I will lower the lights I think about 6-10 inches tonight. Other than that though they are very healthy and growing extremely fast, I was very surprised when I opened the tent last night and saw how much they grew. I enjoy all constructive criticism as long as its not bashing, I think we all can agree that's why we are here, to get tips and leads. There is no ONE way to grow this stuff, there is 1000000000 ways for 10000000 different situations:cheertwo:

Yeah I've been fighting the heat too. What can ya do? I don't have the bucks for an AC unit. If I ever post anything that seems like bashing it will be because I didn't explain myself clearly. I don't bash. I'll skip posting instead if I think I sound like I'm bashing. But I'm happy to see you took it as intended and even happier to see you already noticed and took steps.:thumb: good stuff.

They do look great and your supercrop and lowering the lights a bit will help. By the time they're showing buds they'll probably be loading up just fine.
Man I wish there were dispensaries locally. Seems so many strains available.

Ok here are some better pics from today. I supercropped last night and dropped the light almost a foot, it was way to high, and so was I when I put it up thereRoorRip, wasnt thinking straight when I did that. Luckily the girls didn't stretch to bad, there is only one that I would consider to have some bad stretching and that is the closest one to the camera in the full pics. You can see though most nodes are pretty close and I can work on them easily and get them where they should be. heres some underage bud porn brothers:grinjoint:

I just got an A/C unit, I got a Danby from best buy for $260, and it has a dehumidifier, well worth the life of my plants, because I dont know if they would have made it with the temps we have been having in cali. It is hitting 118 degrees in some parts of California!! Ya these are OG kush from what they say but you never know out here at the dispensaries, so many places with clones now and so many people growing who knows what it really is.

The overall pics do look less stretched. Branching started to fill them in.

I don't have the right window style to use an in-window AC unit and most of the other mobile types are close to 400 bucks or higher. This was supposed to be a low budget 90w operation when I started.heheh.
Man, 118 would have been the end of my grow for sure.

I suppose outlets would be the same as anything else. You take your chances until you find a trustworthy siurce.

Getn subbed! Can't wait to see your results. I'm using led with cfl and would like to see what others do with them as well. Peace :peace:

Hey Anomoly, thanks for running this experiment. I am on my second grow and in the process of using the SCROG method. Are you planning on something like this due to the number of plants and size or grow chamber?

Looking good! How long before you switch to flowering?

:thumb:

I'm 4 weeks in so it wont be for a little bit, they are stretched a little due to high heat, and the fact I had my lights a little high, so they are a bit taller than they should be at the moment. I started super cropping after last watering and I will probably do some topping next time around.

I am liking this setup so far, easier to control heat, plants seem to like the LED and plasma, so we will see how flowering goes.:cheertwo: How are you liking your LED from GLH? I was thinking of trying one of those out to go along with my current one.

I was originally thinking of doing a SCROG grow because of the number of plants but I ended up just going OG style for this one as this is first time for LED's. I think I may do SCROG second time around.

I would recommend the GLH over any other LED at this point in time. Ive seen many grows with many other led's and the results just dont compare. All led's ive considered, dont create dense buds. Even with top-notch growers working them. But these GLH lamps seem to produce quality buds even for new growers. I havent flowered with them yet as im still on my first grow. But ill find out just how much i like these things soon. Doing well in vegg as of now. I thnk theres more flower power in those things though because my plants under strictly cfl's are doing great! They're getting hit with 100+ watts of cfl dual spectrum 6500k (more), and 2700k (less), and are loving it!

Sorry for the long hiatus again, been working and helping with a friends outdoor grow. Heres a nug shot of a OG kush off one of my outdoor plants im growing there.:blunt::blunt:

I will have some more pictures up tomorrow of the girls progress. They are looking good exactly 4 weeks in, got only one or two that stretched bad because of the previous light issue, but the rest look great.

Ok so here are some new pics, this is 4 weeks in. Remember this is with no topping or any kind of super cropping, and they are a little stretched from high heat and me having the light to high. I actually topped once to keep the height down when I realized they had stretched. But they are looking good and getting ready to flower here real soon.:cheertwo: I also added some pics of the nutrients I have been using and my flowering nutrients.

hi Anomoly, you've got some intermediate growth coming on to help fill them in.:thumb: They look healthy. I'd give them a light supercrop, just a pinch near the tops. Enough to crush the stems a bit but you don't have to actually cause them to bend to get the benefits.
