Exceptionally High FECO Yields

Good morning Shed,
I hope you enjoy the mojo, and perhaps while you spool your motor up, you can help me rescue this study with your experience. I am learning a great deal but this is way to important to let a rookie like me goof things and give folks the wrong idea about the Caplan study. I guess Im feeling a bit nervous, we dont need another bad study like the liver article I sited.
Have a few cups :peace:

Ahoy,

Looking over my computer documented grow calendar and a big “oh heck” that could be heard in the next room came blasting out of my mouth. Note to self; The beginning of week # 7 starts on Flower Day #42. I thought I had more time.

Ok, so the drought begins after Sundays feeding. Still plenty of time to make the most out of this opportunity. I figure @InTheShed is correct in the total yield is out of the scope of controls we can muster and that using clones is warranted.

That said, I put forth this game plan with hopes we can find ways to make the most out of what info we glean from this grow. The girls that are coming in now are from seed and the variances are not well suited for our study. However, we will end up with four healthy plants that will still provide clues to the success or failure of the drought stress application in the form of comparative FECO yields. Making 30 gram batches from all four plants we should see a noteworthy deviation between the control plant FECO and the delta plant FECO.

For the clone sisters we will try to match / balance out the cultivars into the same 2 and 2 control model. Also like shed reminds me to size the plants as evenly as possible. Don’t stack the deck with the two best performers on same team is my thought. Anything else we can come up with ? :peace:

This great news I forgot to share with the thread, (a lot of user testing last few days) but I have been really wishing there was a way we can get samples tested. I spoke via phone with the President of TallTreesLED and advised that true Patriot of the nature of this study and its potential benefits and the man simply told me the company will stand behind me in every way possible. He was looking into possible options for having our medicine lab tested. If you knew him like I do, you can rest assured he has our back.

With the Veterans Administrations recent announcement saying they want to research how CBD could help Vets... wouldn't it be cool if they stepped up and said they would cover our expense rather than see a private veteran citizen shoulder the expense of testing our medicine. I could be "Forest Dreaming" now!
Thanks

My Folgers grow, coco/growstone, got hit with Fucking Fungal Gnats about the last three weeks of flower, bad damn news.
Exodus Cheese on the right and White Rhino on the left, 6 plants each.

Sorry about the critters bothering your girls. From this top view the canopy levelness is pretty flat for me seeing no scrog. Well done friend.

just noticed my picture of the sisters together has a fertigation calendar outlining the feed/clean/Quench/back surgeries. We have all the data, and yes every C is a big cleaning.

Real reason for mentioning it also, Daisy is showing a bit of cotton topping on the taller two colas. I want to fix that and 2 days will be pushing it. I will bump nutes by 20% without quenching. This has worked in the past for my LED Queens. Cotton is not always from running too close. Feed her gobs more than you think to fix it. :peace:

I should have also stated that Caplan's study on organic fertigation is under HID illumination, and I think (although we have yet to prove) that different results could be anticipated in full spectrum LED as the plants clocks are affected, and this "boom fertigation" works most times restoring the flower. Or we shall see?
Also
re: Caplans study simultaneously suggests a few things Im gonna take a closer look at, like some strains in flower did better with no food, only water (irrigation) or less fertigations showing positive trends. And yet I recall him also saying that more frequent fertigations produced positive results with other strains.
Darn dee
or like Clint said "show me"

Sorry about edit mishaps and the like
no time to learn this site at present.
Promise to get better :peace:

Ahoy Stone,
Im kinda new to LED, but under the good ones utilizing full spectrum the plants grow different, faster for sure. Anyhow the top of the colas can turn white. Since my being mentored in LED growing by Talltrees, they have taught me its almost always the plant is being undernourished. This is a controversial position for some, but I have been won over by their methods.

Im back to peeling taters! UG :peace:

I get it. Got to feed these babies or they do go light on us. I had two seeds emerge a couple of months ago with pure white first leaves. They died the second or third day up. Something with my soil I think. It was the end of a bag of one of my regular soils I bought. Probably a good idea to not use a bag if it's less than a certain amount left in it. Maybe a gallon or something.

What exactly do you mean something in your soil? What does your medium consist of? Not one to spend a lot of money that I dont have, there are some things that should not be substituted. Folgers coffee is right up there with FFOF (Fox Farms Ocean Forest) in things that cannot be cheaply sourced without risk. Not saying it cant be done, but dont expect the same cup of coffee if the can says Great Value on its label.

My buddy knows FF owner and has visited the manufacturing facility and assures me they go to great lengths checking for bad stuff in the products. Cant be said about some other manufacturers. I could also be biased by the graphic designs on the bag. Cool as all get up!!!

white leaves is not cotton topping, thats why i ask about your mediums contents.

Two pieces of excellent news MT! Getting lab tested eliminates a lot of the guesswork. And all CBD research is welcomed. :thumb:

I am unfamiliar with the term, Quench or Quenching, can you please enlighten me.
Thanks,
GR

Sorry looking at it, that would be flooding?

I watched a video from Chef (I don't remember his name) Canadian guy who grows gently. He keeps lights high and gives dry plants a splash of RO a day before feeding so as not to give the girls an upset belly. I only use about a pint per container and we run 3.5 & 5 gal units. No where near what I imagine flushing to be. I have never used the practice of flushing myself. :peace:
The C for cleaning is like antiseptically, top to bottom
No critters in basement over 3 years now. Fingers always crossed..

I see what you mean, nice pics btw
One thought that came to me is how much I hear about the leaves providing storage.
All foliar material below my scrog is removed during stages of lollipopping.
Wondering how that plays out when your bush has a lot more stored life than mine, and along comes our drought?

This is why Caplan covered his bases saying basically all 3,000 or so strains could react differently to a bunch of different scenarios. :peace:
