Escape Velocities: Syenite's Stealth Miniatures

Last night, when my GF and I were in bed, we heard a strange sound. At first I thought it was a cat hissing outside. Got out of bed, paced around the lounge, looked out the window. Couldn't figure it out. Then, my GF looked behind the cardboard box... and the bloody carbon filter had somehow come apart and was spilling pellets everywhere. DOH!!
I woke up this morning to a strange sound coming from the grow room. At first I thought it was the extraction fan falling apart but when I opened the door to check some cats came running out. They weren't even my cats lol. God knows what they were doing but it was really loud.

Grub is competition worthy!
:passitleft:

Very nice Sye. Sorry for the bud rot, although it could have been a lot worse if you weren't on your game. :bravo:

Thank you Mr S! I'm super grateful. And now I feel more like a "real" grower, having confronted one of my worst growing nightmares!

Congrats on the harvest brother Sy, she sure is a beauty :bong: Wonderful branching too.

Cheers dear BC! You'll get to try some of it! :ganjamon:

LOL! Wha- How???

I would love to have you list the creatures that you've found in your grow room thus far.

Cardboard box harvest round-up!

Grub's flowers were officially transitioned into the curing stage today, and I finally got my dry weight from the 2 plants in the cardboard box!

Speaking of which.. here it is, out of its natural habitat (i.e. under my desk).

Wish (HSC Blue Dream auto): 11g

Wee thing!

Grub (Pre '98 Bubba Kush): 45g

IMG_1331.jpg

Total: 56g / 1.98 oz

I'm really pleased to be pulling such numbers from 45W of light, in little more than a cubic foot of space. It's a miracle. This is also my first grow/harvest of "named" lines, which made this even more exciting for me.

Wish (HSO Blue Dream auto) experience report

Wish's flowers went into the cure after about 2 weeks drying low and slow in the fridge, with an in-jar RH of 65. The flowers have now been curing for 2.5 weeks.

Appearance-wise, they are gorgeous. Mint green. Frosty, with those elongated trichomes for extra drama.

IMG_1333.jpg

Smell-wise, not the strongest, but very pleasant nonetheless. Leads with a mango-berry tangy note, before collapsing into a more general basement funk.

Effect-wise, I find this a very very pleasant smoke. A mildly giddy, euphoric high, uplifting and fairly active in the head. A nice thrum in the bones settles in a bit later, rounding out the head buzz with a pleasant body stone. I guess this is what a good all-rounder feels like! It was very easy to get on with small chores and activities while cranking some tunes.

Grub (Pre '98 Bubba Kush) enters the cure zone

These flowers are going into the jar VERY LOUD after drying in the fridge for about 2 weeks.

And oh my goodness are they gorgeous!

IMG_1332.jpg

I ran into the issue where the smaller flowers were a little over-dried (about 55% in-jar) and the bigger ones under-dried (about 71% in-jar). It meant I got to try out a couple of different humidity adjustment techniques!

I'm aware that dipping below 55% RH can affect the curing, so I was relieved the small flowers were on the margin. I put in a Boveda 62 just to see what it would do. I'm aware also that some of my fellow growers here don't really like Boveda packs, but it's a good opportunity to see for myself. The pack has brought the RH back to 61-62%.

As for the still-a-little-wet larger flowers, I used some uncooked rice as desiccant, following @InTheShed 's directions. Worked beautifully. RH is now down at 64%.

I'm so pleased with this harvest. Like SO STOKED. OMG! What perfect timing to visit @DonkeyDick 's garden to have some benchmarks set for what great flowers should smell and taste like, too.

I cannot wait to try out the Grubba flowers in a couple of weeks.

:ganjamon: :yummy: :thumb: :green_heart::Namaste:

Great wrap up on those two sy! Nice report on Wish and looking forward to seeing how Grub hits you after all you two have been through together :). Buds look great!

For anyone searching for the rice ball tutorial, it's in my signature. :high-five:

Thank you Shed! I also edited the post to include a direct link to your tutorial. :high-five::adore:

I hope harvests never stop feeling special.

Very kind of you to say. :passitleft:
I’m getting vicarious stokedness for you too. Your enthusiasm is infectious.

I’m with you there. I just did the 44th and 45th and so far so good. Still new and exciting each time!

Yes lovely summation there Sy, I will go back and re-read it again and view those pics at least once more. Beautiful looking buds! :thumb:

Thank you Stunger! Am a big fan of your write-ups too :high-five:

:yahoo: Those buds look and sound great. Decent numbers for what you're working with too. I tip my hat to you. :bravo:

Cheers Vet mate! I know I haven't fully optimised the setup yet, but I'll get there. Thankfully I do not get through as much flower mass as I used to, so I have no worries about quantity (for now)!

I'm happy to be able to bring some energy back here. I've felt a bit more detached lately due to life circumstances, but I'm coming back!

:hippy: Splendid. Really impressive start to finish. And ounces! And top shelf! Woohoo!

Evocative descriptions of smell and tone - perfect way to describe how upfront aromas can hit and then dissipate. Such an elusive sensory connect.

Cracking tunes for getting stuff done around the house while high on your own grown - that’s the good life!
 :ciao:

Boom that’s some bomb diggity brother Sy, congrats on getting to the end my man and getting a successful grow under the belt. The buds look so yummy I can imagine how they’ll smoke already hahaha keep safe man

Thank you Amy!! I'm enjoying experimenting with different ways of writing up a review/description/report.

I feel like flavours/smells are a process!

Thank you my friend! I have now gotten many many chances to "sample" the flower. Report incoming!

Great grow, great pics, great results. I’m beyond impressed...

Heeey Thirvnrob, thank you so much for the kind words my friend. :Namaste: :thumb:

Ahhh I'm late to my own journal mate... Lol! Thank you so much Prof. Next run should interest you too!

So Sye, when you going again?

Thank you for checking in Tra! It's all about to start again my friend. Couple of big updates incoming!

Hope you all have been well! It's been a hot minute. I'm back back back back again!

When I normally read up/post on these forums every day, not being around for a couple of weeks feels like an eternity.

I finally had my work leaving do yesterday, the final ritual to mark the end of that journey. God the last few weeks of that job just. Felt. So. Long.

My GF and I also spent a weekend away visiting my family, so there was a bit going on.

But there we go. The end. Now I have the next 2-3 months to myself!

And on that note, we have another ending incoming.

Loom, Bigfoot Glue, day 56 of 12-12

This plant is just about ready to come down. I feel like Loom bears the traces of this period of my life. I did not give it nearly as much attention as I gave the others. I also flipped this one too early, which was another decision driven by my feeling quite overwhelmed during that part of the year. You see, I called this plant "Loom" because I expected it to be much taller and to have a looming presence. Oh well, lol!

In saying all that, however, the plant has been doing fabulously. I don't know if y'all remember, but I had some yellowing issues all the way into late veg. Rejigging the light configuration solved that. Having angled panels meant that there was a serious asymmetry in the light exposure on the canopy, and one region was getting way too much light while another wasn't getting enough.

In the end, Loom flowered very happily, and its leaves took on that healthy deep green.

It has a gorgeous, rich smell, sweet but also meaty. It does remind me of @DonkeyDick 's Gorilla Zkittlez, although perhaps I am projecting a little based on the shared lineage.

This is my frostiest plant so far, and as loud as the Bubba Kush (whose cured flowers I will report on soon)!

Loom will come down in the next day or two.

And with endings also come beginnings...

Stay tuned for the next updates, fam! I'll be round to all your gardens shortly. :ganjamon:
